Well… maybe it wasn't completely meaningless.
At the very least, that "exclusive enchantment" vividly demonstrated just how important Jane Foster was in Thor's heart.
To think — Odin had placed a special spell on Mjolnir that could turn an ordinary mortal like Jane into a new God of Thunder. That alone showed how much Thor truly cared for her.
Nick Fury couldn't help but be surprised. He hadn't expected this high-and-mighty god from Asgard to have such a hopelessly romantic side!
Still, from Fury's perspective, that was actually a good thing.
If he could somehow push Thor and Black Widow closer together, then the ties between S.H.I.E.L.D. and Thor would only deepen, wouldn't they?
"Father placed an enchantment on the hammer?""So that's why I couldn't lift it?"
Sitting before his own copy of the diary, Thor fell into deep thought.
After all, Odin had exiled him first—casting him down through the Bifrost—and only afterward did he enchant Mjolnir.
So Thor had never known about it.
Now, with the diary pointing it out, it all made perfect sense.
This really was a reasonable explanation.
Yet, that realization only left Thor even more puzzled about the diary's mysterious author.
On one hand, the writer's tone and reasoning often sounded absurd to him—completely illogical and utterly unlike Loki's style.
But on the other hand, that same writer seemed to know an incredible amount about Asgard and the divine realms.
How could anyone on Midgard possess such detailed knowledge of Asgard?
The more Thor thought about it, the less sense it made.
His mind spun in circles — everything seemed both possible and impossible. No matter how he reasoned it, he couldn't reach a clear conclusion.
There was only one thing he was absolutely certain of:
No matter who the diary's owner was — Loki or anyone else — none of them could possibly lift Mjolnir.
No one in all of Asgard could, besides himself and, of course, Odin.
Certainly not Loki.
Whoever wrote that they planned to "go to New Mexico and give it a try" was just being delusional.
["It's like Captain America — before he lifted the hammer, he was just an enhanced soldier."]["Sure, he's one of the Big Three of the Avengers, but let's be honest — he's the weakest of the three."]["But once he lifted Mjolnir? He comboed Thanos into confusion!"]["When Captain America lifted the hammer, he really became Thor!"]["Though I still don't get Vision — he lifted it so easily, yet there wasn't even a spark. Is it because he's not human?"]
Confirmed.
Nick Fury's single eye gleamed.
His earlier speculation had been correct — Captain America had indeed become a new God of Thunder after lifting the hammer.
That much was clear.
But Vision? Vision could also lift the hammer?
That was… unexpected.
Still, the more he thought about it, the less strange it seemed.
The diary had mentioned Vision before — not much detail, but enough to show he was ridiculously powerful.
Even pre–Ragnarok Thor couldn't defeat him. Vision could take on the entire Avengers team alone!
So if someone like that could lift Mjolnir, it wasn't exactly shocking.
Wait a minute.
Fury froze mid-thought.
Vision wasn't even human?!
That revelation hit him like a slap in the face.
The diary explicitly said Vision was Scarlet Witch's lover!
Naturally, all the diary's readers had assumed Vision was a person. I mean, who would think of a cross-species romance right off the bat?
But well… given what they already knew — if Thor, a literal god, could fall for a mortal woman, then maybe Scarlet Witch falling for a nonhuman wasn't that impossible either.
Besides — if Fury only knew that his own wife wasn't exactly human either… he might not feel so smug right now.
"Vision isn't human?"
Tony Stark blinked in surprise. That one caught him off guard too.
If Vision wasn't human, then… what was he?
Another god, like Thor? Or some humanoid alien species that just looked human?
It made sense to him that Vision had to be something similar to humanity — otherwise, how could Scarlet Witch even—
Right, best not to think about that too deeply.
Thor looked human enough; you could call him a "higher form of humanity."
That was fine.
But if Vision looked too different… well, Tony would have to hand it to Wanda — the woman clearly had unique taste.
["But wait."]["Odin's spell didn't restrict Mjolnir to humans only."]["It wasn't even limited to living beings."]["Beta Ray Bill defeated Thor, picked up Mjolnir, and became the God of Thunder!"]["And Beta Ray Bill's body is cybernetically enhanced — basically a bio-android, just like Vision."]["So is it because Vision's a pure machine?"]
"...Beta Ray Bill?"
Thor frowned deeply.
What nonsense was this? Another Thor?
He was the one and only God of Thunder!
A horse-faced Thor? Was that what it meant? A guy with the face of a horse?!
Ridiculous! How could some horse-faced creature defeat him and become a new Thor?
This diary was getting more and more absurd by the minute.
"'Beta Ray Bill'— another Thor?"
Tony Stark's expression grew delightfully amused.
Before reading this, he had assumed Thor was one of a kind — a unique mythological god.
Now? Apparently, there were several of them!
Captain America could become Thor. Jane Foster could become Thor. And now this "horse-faced Thor"?
How many Thors were there supposed to be?!
The more Tony thought about it, the more it felt like Thor wasn't so exclusive after all.
Still, the "Beta Ray Bill" thing intrigued him. The diary said he was a bio-engineered being who once defeated Thor.
A cyborg and a God of Thunder? Now that was something Tony could appreciate.
But the real bombshell came next — Vision's true identity.
A robot.
A literal robot.
Tony's jaw almost dropped.
So Scarlet Witch had fallen in love… with a robot?
Now that was next-level courage. True love beyond all logic.
Tony Stark couldn't help but salute her in awe.
Yet even as he joked to himself, a darker thought crept in.
If Vision was mechanical, that meant someone had built him.
But who?
And as Tony ran the possibilities through his head, an uneasy realization dawned.
"Wait a second…" he muttered.
"Could it… be me?"
It made perfect sense.
A machine that powerful couldn't have been made by just anyone — only a top-tier genius with near-unmatched skill.
And who else fit that description better than Tony Stark, the man decades ahead of his time?
Even his Iron Man suits were a form of robotics.
By all logic, he was the most likely candidate to have created Vision.
["Oh, that reminds me — the Grandmaster, that battle-loving eccentric, has statues of every champion he's ever had."]["There's one of Hulk — and one of Beta Ray Bill!"]["Does that mean Beta Ray Bill will appear later on? I can't wait to see it!"]["Imagine him summoning lightning with that hammer — that's gotta look incredible."]["Counting it up, there are actually quite a few people who can lift Thor's hammer."]["Even Black Widow has done it in some universes."]["Man, I'd love to see her try — who knows, maybe she really could lift it!"]
The Grandmaster—!
Tony's eyes narrowed slightly.
The diary had mentioned that name before but barely explained it.
He only knew this Grandmaster was powerful enough to electrocute Thor into submission.
Clearly, this was no ordinary being.
Now he understood more: a cosmic entity who ran gladiatorial games and kept statues of his champions — even Hulk and Beta Ray Bill.
That meant Thor and Hulk's future fight wasn't just a brawl — it was a gladiator match!
They'd both been captured and forced to battle for entertainment!
Even Tony couldn't hide his shock.
Thor and Hulk — both taken by some cosmic tyrant?
Just how powerful was this Grandmaster?
Meanwhile, Black Widow, reading her own copy of the diary, stared in disbelief.
"I… can lift Thor's hammer too?"
She was utterly dumbfounded.
Sure, plenty of others had done it — Jane Foster, Captain America, Vision, even that weird horse-faced guy.
But her?
Still, the diary insisted it was possible.
Maybe Mjolnir wasn't just about strength or divine birthright. Maybe, under the right circumstances, even she could be worthy.
Her eyes glimmered with curiosity — and maybe a hint of longing.
"I really want to try it someday," she whispered.
