Chapter 192 - Able to Control Celestials and Thanos, the Guardians of the Galaxy Have This Kind of Big Shot!

To put it more bluntly.

Thanos's daughter was actually always dedicated to opposing her own father?

Considering the extreme things Thanos had done, those insane ideas and actions...

Tony could only say that he wasn't too surprised by this outcome.

A madman determined to destroy half the life in the universe, even if opposed by his own daughter, wasn't strange at all.

But, what's with the father-in-law thing?

So, Star-Lord and Thanos actually had this unknown relationship?

Tony really hadn't expected this outcome, it must be said.

So, in other words, Thanos was not only opposed by his daughter, but also by his son-in-law?

From this perspective, Thanos was actually quite a failure!

"What's going on here?"

Tony's brow furrowed slightly.

The diary didn't reveal many details about the battle on Titan between the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers against Thanos.

But why would Star-Lord throwing a punch at Thanos lead to the failure of Infinity War?

They were fighting; Star-Lord attacking Thanos made perfect sense!

Yet, judging by the diary's tone, if Star-Lord hadn't thrown that punch, they would have captured Thanos!

Star-Lord's attack on Thanos was actually... a bad thing?

???

A string of question marks popped up in Tony's mind.

Why did this happen?

What exactly happened on Titan during that battle?

It's important to remember that Star-Lord's sister, Mantis, managed to temporarily control Thanos's mind, putting him in a hypnotic state.

This was Thanos we're talking about, not just some nobody!

Mantis is definitely one of the most underrated members of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Her abilities are actually quite powerful.

She can hypnotize Ego, and she can hypnotize Thanos. In a critical moment, that could even decide the outcome of a battle.

If Star-Lord hadn't lost control on Titan and started beating up Thanos, waking him up early, they would have already taken the Infinity Gauntlet.

What a pity, to come so close!

Mantis!

Tony, sitting in front of the diary, appeared calm on the surface, but he secretly made a note of the name.

This is another Guardians of the Galaxy character revealed by the diary, following Drax the Destroyer, Star-Lord, and Rocket Raccoon.

But, Mantis?

Since the name includes the word "mantis," it means Mantis must possess some characteristics related to mantises.

Or, perhaps she has some abilities related to mantises, or maybe she looks like a mantis?

That can't be, right?

Thinking of this, Tony couldn't help but shudder.

Looking like a mantis... that would be too scary, wouldn't it?

No, that shouldn't be the case. After all, Mantis is Star-Lord's sister!

And Star-Lord is the child of Ego and a human woman from Earth.

So Mantis should be in human form... right?

Wait a minute!

That's not right!

Tony immediately shook his head, rejecting his previous thought.

Because he remembered that the diary had said before that Ego was a cosmic playboy, who had carried out a cosmic seeding plan.

In other words, he has descendants with countless races in the galaxy.

So, Star-Lord's siblings are all over the universe, and they're all sorts of weird and strange races!

Even if there really is a sister like Mantis, it wouldn't be surprising, theoretically.

After all, isn't there a Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy?

So this is the style of the Guardians of the Galaxy? It really is galactic enough.

"Control the mind?"

As those messy thoughts flashed through his mind, Tony's eyes continued to wander over the diary, and he couldn't help but feel surprised.

So Mantis has this kind of ability?

This ability has absolutely nothing to do with mantises.

So, the connection is Mantis's appearance?

Alright, that's not the point. The point is that Mantis's strength is also not to be underestimated!

She can even control Thanos's mind.

And even the Celestials!

The fact that Mantis can affect beings of the Celestial's caliber really says something.

At this moment, Tony finally understood why Star-Lord's few punches caused the defeat on Titan (planet) during Infinity War.

It turned out he woke Thanos up early!

"What is Star-Lord even doing!"

Even though he was just reading the diary, not on the battlefield, Tony almost couldn't help but slap his thigh.

What a pity!

What a shame! It's such a waste!

So, what exactly happened to Star-Lord back then? Why did he have to ruin everything at such a crucial moment?

According to the diary, the Avengers almost got the Infinity Gauntlet!

Doesn't that mean they were close to snatching all the gems Thanos had collected?

The purple potato was even under some sort of hypnosis at the time, so they might even have been able to take him down right then and there.

What a golden opportunity!

The question is, did Star-Lord not understand this?

Absolutely not!

Something must have happened to make Star-Lord lose control and act so wildly.

So, what was it?

That's the key!

Besides, this leak also gave Tony a big reminder, or rather, an inspiration.

Perhaps approaching this from a mental aspect is a good way to counter Thanos.

After extracting and summarizing the basic information, Tony turned his attention back to the diary, anticipating further spoilers.

However, after waiting for several minutes, nothing more appeared on the diary's pages.

Tony understood, and closed the diary.

He sat up straight, leaning against the comfortable backrest of his luxury car, and began to sort through the information revealed by the diary in his mind.

To be honest, this round of spoilers actually revealed some very important information.

First, there were those Avengers from the future.

Besides Captain America, another version of himself, and Ant-Man, who had already been discovered, there was also Bruce Banner (Hulk), who had gone to Kamar-Taj!

It also exposed Ant-Man's identity.

Considering these future Avengers were desperately trying to steal the stones from everyone, this round of spoilers was more than helpful.

It couldn't have come at a better time.

Besides, there was the motivation behind Thanos's plan to wipe out half the life in the universe, along with some insights on how to defeat him.

And so on.

For Tony, this was all critical, high-level intelligence.

"Tony, we're here."

Lost in thought, he felt a jolt.

The car slowed rapidly, and Happy's voice came through.

Tony snapped out of his thoughts for the moment, greeted Happy, and hurried out of the car.

He walked directly toward the Triskelion.

As for the diary in the car?

Tony didn't bother with it.

That thing was invisible, even non-existent, to anyone except the diary's owner.

Plus, it had an "auto-tracking" "function" and would automatically appear beside its owner, so there was no fear of losing it.

No need to worry about it at all.

Tony appeared directly in the corresponding command center, beside Nick Fury, Captain America, and Black Widow.

Oh, and Bruce Banner was there too.

Red Guardian and Hawkeye Barton, the two key figures, were absent. They were leading a team to guard the Scepter.

"What's with the long faces?"

"Don't tell me Loki's Scepter was also stolen."

Tony glanced at everyone, then felt the heavy atmosphere in the room, and couldn't help but speak.

"The Scepter is still here."

Black Widow glanced over, briefing Tony on the situation. "But the Tesseract is still a big problem."

"So, that's why I'm here, isn't it?"

Tony shrugged.

"Stark, you successfully tracked the Tesseract before, and now we need you to do it again."

Captain America earnestly asked Tony.

Of course.

Captain America only knew the Tesseract was something significant, but he couldn't possibly know its true nature and real importance like the diary holders did.

Even so, Captain America wouldn't allow "unidentified individuals" to take it.

"I've already had Jarvis working on this while I was on my way here."

Tony was reliable, and he provided a reassuring answer. "Finding the Tesseract isn't the problem. The problem is, what do we do after we find it?"

As soon as he said this, Nick Fury, Black Widow, and everyone else present immediately became serious.

This was indeed the key issue!

For everyone except Fury, Black Widow, and Tony, the other Destroyer armor was actually even more advanced than Tony's.

Even in a direct confrontation, they'd defeated Tony with an undeniable advantage!

They'd completely wrecked Tony's armor!

Even ignoring the imitation of Captain America, who was on par with the real deal, and the mysteriously vanished "driver"...

Just that "enhanced Destroyer" was enough to give anyone a headache.

To put it bluntly, it wasn't something S.H.I.E.L.D. could handle!

Nor was it something the Avengers could easily deal with.

"Besides, there's the Scepter!"

Nick Fury's voice sounded from the side, and his bald head looked extremely serious. "We can't let them take the Scepter again!"

Like Tony, after the diary revealed that Ant-Man from the future would also be involved, Nick Fury immediately realized how the Tesseract was stolen.

If that was the case, the Scepter faced the same risk as the Tesseract.

All the security measures around the Scepter were completely inadequate!

It was even possible that while everyone was discussing countermeasures, Ant-Man had already started targeting the Scepter.

Whoosh!

Upon hearing this, Captain America's expression became more serious than ever.

Because until now, he still couldn't understand how they had stolen the Scepter.

It was almost impossible.

"This is a truly unsettling situation, we don't even know how they stole the Tesseract," Doctor Banner said, voicing the doubts in everyone's minds.

If you don't know how that group of "thieves" operates, how can you prevent them?

The security of the Scepter simply can't be guaranteed.

"Alright, I've done some digging on this."

Tony spoke up.

He took the opportunity to inform Captain America and Dr. Banner, who were in the dark, about the information he'd just obtained from Japan regarding Ant-Man.

Captain America and Dr. Banner were both completely stunned.

Someone could freely enlarge and shrink themselves and other objects?

Such a fantastical ability actually existed?

However, this did indeed explain how they could steal the Tesseract without anyone noticing, as if by magic.

This was precisely why Captain America and Doctor Banner, among others, were feeling so frustrated and exasperated.

If the other side could truly accomplish such an incredible feat, it meant that conventional security measures would be completely useless!

The Scepter was truly dangerous!

So, the most crucial thing facing everyone right now was to keep a close eye on the Scepter.

They had to prevent the enemy from using the same method to stealthily steal the Scepter.

"We must establish a new security system."

"Before that, someone must guard the Scepter around the clock! It must always be within our sight!"

Captain America surveyed everyone present and put forward this reasonable suggestion.

No one objected to this, of course.

"Sir, the location of the Tesseract has been found."

At this moment, a notification came from Jarvis.

It had once again located the Tesseract using the specific gamma ray frequency band emitted by the Tesseract.

Everyone present perked up.

Normally, if Jarvis locked onto the Tesseract's location, it would instantly hack and take control of nearby security cameras, gaining a general understanding of the situation.

But now, unfortunately, that wasn't possible.

With Friday providing protection, Jarvis was unable to complete the hack.

So Jarvis only knew the location of the Tesseract, but he didn't know what was going on with those future Avengers.

And undoubtedly, this kind of information was the first thing everyone needed to figure out.

After all, all actions were based on sufficient intelligence.

But for Tony, obviously, he had fewer worries in this regard.

"I'll go talk to them first."

Tony immediately made this decision.

No matter what, they were also another version of himself, other Avengers!

Tony still didn't want to just tear up the relationship like that.

That was a last resort, something Tony would only consider when all other options had failed.

The reactions to Tony's decision were varied.

Captain America naturally disagreed, seeing it as pointless and reckless.

But the other diary holder, Nick Fury, agreed with Tony's plan.

They were the future Avengers!

Even if negotiations failed, or even if a conflict erupted, Tony's life wouldn't be in danger.
