Chapter 193 - Future Avengers Dumbfounded: We in the Past Know Everything About the Future!

After a simple exchange, they quickly reached an agreement.

Nick Fury gave Captain America significant authority, tasking him with personally commanding the upcoming actions.

This included the investigation of the "thieves" who stole the Tesseract and all subsequent deployments. Captain America was in charge.

As for Nick Fury himself?

He needed to get to the Scepter as quickly as possible and re-arrange its security measures.

After all, only the bald-headed director could open the vault where the Scepter was stored.

Those Whiplash squads and the like only took orders from him, and even now, no one besides Fury even knew about their existence.

That's right.

Nick Fury intends to have Whiplash's squad personally watch over the Scepter "on-site."

Cameras can be fooled, possibly replaced by that other Stark.

Security systems can also be fooled; once some alarm systems are taken over, they become completely useless.

But human eyes can't!

What about Dr. Banner?

This super genius scientist, who is in some ways not at all inferior to Tony, will undoubtedly help Nick Fury design a new security system specifically to deal with Ant-Man.

Everyone's division of labor was very clear, and they each began to operate quickly.

Captain America, Nick Fury, and Dr. Banner, not to mention them for now, as it won't be possible to see results anytime soon.

But Tony appeared outside an abandoned factory building quite smoothly.

According to Jarvis's location data, the Tesseract was inside this abandoned building.

Then, without a doubt, those Avengers from the future must also be inside.

Tony's guess was correct, or rather, it was a given.

At this moment, inside a spacious hall within the abandoned building.

Future Captain America, future Tony, and future Ant-Man were gathered together with serious expressions.

And beside them, there was a box that looked incredibly exquisite.

Inside, of course, was the Tesseract.

"So, we can't just steal the Scepter like we stole the Tesseract again?"

Future Tony's voice was laced with an uncontainable sense of frustration. "Your 'shrinking magic' is out of the question?"

"I'm sorry, Tony, that was the last one."

Future Ant-Man shook his head, his own frustration mirroring Tony's. "But I used it to evade the Avengers."

At this, Future Ant-Man's brow furrowed. "I still can't figure out how they discovered the Tesseract was taken so quickly."

Their operation was flawless! No one could have possibly known the Tesseract was gone before they opened the vault.

Could they just have had terrible luck, with the vault opening right after they stole the Tesseract? But that didn't make sense.

Who would just randomly open a vault of that level? "That's not our primary concern."

Captain America spoke seriously, "We need to figure out how to get the Scepter."

The Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. had already been alerted, so security around the Scepter would undoubtedly be tighter.

Without Ant-Man's abilities, they'd have to resort to conventional methods.

Even for these Avengers from the future, that was a very difficult prospect.

"Sir! Detecting another super AI!"

Just as they were in the middle of their discussion, Friday's alert suddenly sounded.

The Avengers present immediately changed their expressions.

It was Tony! Another Tony!

The future Avengers exchanged glances, each seeing surprise and shock in the others' eyes.

They were actually found?

And in such a short amount of time!

These Avengers from this universe were a little too good!

After all, they'd gone to great lengths to be discreet, ever since they'd escaped from another Captain America and S.H.I.E.L.D.

All their actions were cautious, leaving no trace.

Logically, they shouldn't have been found again.

Especially not in such a short amount of time.

Swoosh! Clang!

Sure enough, the sound of something breaking through the air rang out.

Under the gaze of the future Avengers, another somewhat "outdated" hunk of metal fell from the sky, crashing down in front of them.

Click.

The other person's helmet was opened immediately.

A relatively young Tony's face was revealed to everyone.

At that moment.

Future Tony also patted the "inverted triangle" on his chest and put on a super cool nano-suit.

Of course, the main reason wasn't to fight his past self, but to cover up his face, which was highly similar to the other person's.

"I don't need to do this, I think. I shouldn't know you at this time, right?"

Future Ant-Man's brain began to spin rapidly, wondering whether or not to cover his face with the time-travel suit.

He glanced at the future Tony beside him, wrestling with his thoughts.

But seeing that the future Captain America hadn't done anything, he shrugged and decided to just go with it.

Of course.

These future Avengers looked normal on the surface, but each of them was on high alert.

Even the future Captain America had unconsciously moved closer to the Tesseract to prevent it from being taken.

"I have to say, this is not what I expected!"

The future Tony, hidden behind his helmet, spoke to the other him, "But you're alone?"

"That's right, I'm alone."

Tony nodded solemnly. "And you don't need to be nervous. I'm not here to steal the Tesseract."

"We both know that's not something I can do on my own."

"So, I'm here to talk."

"That's right. Before we gather enough people to deal with you and completely wipe the floor with you, I figured we should maybe talk first."

Talk?

It had to be said, this answer was truly unexpected for the future Avengers.

"What do you want to talk about?"

Future Captain America stared intently at Tony, his eyes still filled with wariness.

"You haven't changed a bit, have you? Don't you ever age?"

Tony sized up the future Captain America, clicking his tongue in amazement. "Are you guys from a few years in the future? Ten years? Eight? You look exactly the same. Now I'm tempted to study that serum myself."

Whoosh!

Future Captain America was immediately startled, unable to maintain his composure.

Not only future Captain America, but the future Tony and future Ant-Man beside him reacted the same way, their expressions shifting dramatically at Tony's words.

That other Stark… he'd actually figured out their identities? He knew they were from the future?

What the hell!

What in the world was going on?

There was absolutely no way they should know this!

"Wait, wait a second, Stark, are you implying... that the guy standing next to me, who looks just like Captain America, is from the future? Dude, isn't that a little crazy?"

Future Ant-Man rubbed his messy face, looking utterly bewildered as he tentatively spoke to Tony.

"Come on!"

"You're not that dumb! Skip the useless preamble, Scott!"

Tony shook his head, a bit exasperated.

"You know who I am? You know I'm Scott?"

"Okay, that's not important. What's important is, you do know I'm Scott from the future?"

Future Ant-Man was truly baffled.

"How did you know?"

Future Tony also had a thought, retracting his armor and revealing his true face. He stared at Tony with a puzzled and serious expression, asking,

Since Tony had already said so much, it was clear he knew their identities, and any pretense was pointless.

So, it was better to be direct.

"We have our own intelligence sources."

Tony gave a vague, but cool answer. "We not only know you're from the future, but we also know your purpose."

"Banner's not here? Looks like he really did go to Kamar-Taj, right?"

"And you, stop trying to get your hands on the Scepter. You won't succeed."

Shocked.

The future Avengers were truly shocked.

What was going on?

Why did this other Tony know everything about their purpose?

"You know why we're here."

The future Tony was stunned for a few seconds before he calmed down and continued to ask, "Then do you know why we're doing this?"

"The Snap?"

"To save the half of all life that was erased?"

Tony shrugged, answering as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

What the hell!

This other Tony even knew about the Snap?

He even knew what Thanos had done?

What the heck!

Judging by the way he was acting, this Tony clearly knew everything about them, like he was completely aware of the future!

But how could that even be possible!

"You're scaring me, man, you're really scaring me."

"Why do you know everything?"

Future Ant-Man could no longer remain calm.

The future Tony and future Captain America beside him were equally shaken, deeply shocked.

What kind of universe had they traveled to?

"Since you know everything, I think you should fully understand our actions, right?"

"Then why are you stopping us?"

Future Tony immediately accused another version of himself, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

"That's right, I completely understand."

"Even if I were in your position, I would do the same thing."

"But understanding doesn't change the fact that I can't let you take the Infinity Stones. It's too risky for our universe."

"I'm sorry, I can't do this."

Tony shook his head resolutely, his attitude unwavering.

The Infinity Stones were key to solving the Celestial problem, and also crucial for fighting Thanos. They were simply too important.

"We'll give them back, I promise!"

The Tony from the future was equally emphatic.

"You already failed once in Infinity War. How can you guarantee you won't fail a second time?"

Tony asked, his words cutting deep.

Admittedly, in the 199999 universe, which was highly similar to his own, the Avengers had won in Endgame.

But who knew if his world was actually the 199999 universe?

Tony's words left his future self speechless, his face falling.

Infinity War was indeed a massive failure they couldn't deny.

It was also a shadow that lingered in the hearts of all the future Avengers.

"We will do whatever it takes to make this happen!"

Future Captain America added, his voice filled with conviction.

"No, Captain, no offense, but your word isn't enough for us to bet our future on."

Tony's attitude remained firm, not budging an inch.

"But we must also save our future!"

The future Ant-Man's determination was no less than Tony's.

"So, here I am."

Tony shrugged, "You want to save your world? Of course, no problem, I will also do my best to provide all the help I can."

"But not by 'aiding the Infinity Stones'."

"You can't touch the stones, and then we'll figure out how to solve your problems together."

"These are my terms!"

"Come on, with the combined brilliance of two Tony Starks, what problem can't be solved?"

The negotiation had reached this point, and Tony finally laid out his conditions to the future Avengers.

The future Avengers exchanged glances, looking at each other.

They basically understood each other's intentions and still planned to seize the Infinity Stones in this parallel universe.

After all, it wasn't just them. Other teams had gone to different locations to collect the stones, and for everyone, success was the only option. Failure was not an option.

Before the time travel, everyone was prepared to pay any price, even their own lives.

Although the other Tony's suggestion was indeed persuasive to some extent, the future Avengers wouldn't be swayed so easily.

"I've said all I'm going to say."

"You can either get beaten up and have us take the stones back, or you can return them in a friendly manner. The choice is yours."

"Just a reminder, I don't think you have much time to decide."

Whoosh!

After saying that, Tony didn't waste any more time.

The helmet closed, and his hands and feet emitted jets of intense energy.

He flew away with incredible style, disappearing in an instant.

Only the future Avengers were left staring at each other.

"Come on, say something! Captain, Stark?"

Future Ant-Man glanced at Future Captain America, then at Future Tony, and couldn't help but exclaim.

"Let's get out of here first."

After a moment's thought, Future Captain America called out to his two companions.

Regardless of what they planned to do next, the fact that their hiding place had been exposed was undeniable.

They needed to relocate to a safer place.
