There was naturally no question about this.
Since the future Avengers decided to "cooperate" with the past Avengers, it meant they had already agreed to return the Tesseract.
This was the premise of everything, so it went without saying.
"Scott, I'll have to trouble you then."
Future Captain America nodded to the future Ant-Man beside him.
The future Ant-Man didn't say anything further and immediately turned around, leaving for a short while.
When he reappeared, he had a box in his hands.
And then handed it over to Captain America.
Captain America then opened the box in front of everyone, and a cube that flashed with blue light immediately appeared before everyone's eyes. It was indeed the Tesseract.
Phew! Captain America couldn't help but breathe a long sigh of relief in his heart.
"So, can we start now?"
"Two Captains, two Tonys, and two Banners working together. I have to say, I'm already a little impatient."
"The only regret is that there aren't two of me, otherwise I could brag to Cassie."
The future Ant-Man clapped his hands and was as excited as could be.
His eyes darted back and forth between the two groups of Avengers.
"Everyone, you are all guests here."
Nick Fury spoke then, "I don't know what our relationship is like in your timeline, but I, for one, am more than happy to offer you any necessary assistance."
He paused, then added, "Of course, that's assuming you don't touch our Tesseract and Scepter."
As one of the diary holders, Nick Fury knew just how important the Infinity Stones were, and his stance on not letting them be taken was firm.
Even from the future Avengers.
"That's the problem, but the only things we need are the Tesseract and the Scepter."
The future Banner spoke, directly addressing the core issue.
"Hey, big guy, that's why we're here, isn't it?"
"That's exactly what we're here for."
"Exactly. The problem is a tricky one, but we've got a killer lineup, don't we?"
"I believe there's nothing we can't solve."
Tony stepped forward, speaking confidently as always.
"So, other me, any good suggestions?"
The future Tony also spoke.
But the current him looked much more mature and steady than the other Tony.
It was clear he wasn't as arrogant or self-assured.
"Not yet, or rather, I have a general idea, but I can't be certain."
"Because there's a key issue I need to confirm first."
Tony was undeniably reliable; he actually had an idea for such a tricky problem.
Seeing Tony's confident expression, the future Avengers suddenly felt a surge of confidence and assurance.
"What issue?"
Future Captain America couldn't wait to ask.
"What was your New York battle like?"
Facing the gazes of the future Avengers, Tony solemnly asked this question.
"Tony, what does this mean?"
Captain America and Scott exchanged glances, both somewhat unsure of Tony's intention.
Hadn't he already known about their situation?
Why would he ask about it specifically?
However, seeing Tony's serious expression, Captain America briefly recounted the events of the Battle of New York to him.
"Loki traveled from Asgard using the Tesseract, stole it, and opened a portal, bringing the Chitauri."
"Nick Fury gathered the Avengers, and we worked together, fighting side by side."
"Although it was difficult, we eventually closed the portal and defeated the Chitauri."
For Captain America, Banner, and the others who didn't possess the diary, this caused considerable shock and surprise.
So, Loki was going to be such a huge problem?
That the Tesseract being stolen was just the beginning, and his real goal was to conquer Earth?
Astounding.
The non-diary holders were truly shocked.
Meanwhile, Tony and Nick Fury, the diary holders, each felt a shift in their thoughts.
Wasn't this the future described in the diary?
The events experienced by these Avengers from the future were identical to those described in the diary!
Wait a minute!
Nick Fury quickly realized something was wrong.
Why was this happening?
Why was the future the future Avengers experienced still the same as in the diary?
They'd already made changes!
Loki, for instance, hadn't even had the chance to open a portal after stealing the Tesseract before they'd captured him.
Could it be that Loki had escaped again after being caught this time?
Thinking this, Nick Fury's expression darkened.
He began to further confirm the relevant details with the future Avengers.
He ultimately realized he was mistaken.
The Avengers' Battle of New York was different from the one everyone else had experienced from the very beginning.
The other party had stolen the Tesseract the first time Loki appeared at S.H.I.E.L.D.
Then, that other version of himself gathered the Avengers and launched a series of follow-up actions, eventually capturing Loki in Germany.
However, Loki was pretending to be captured, thoroughly messing with the Avengers.
It was during that time that he killed Coulson, prompting the Avengers to unite and cooperate closely.
Only then did they achieve victory in the Battle of New York.
From the very beginning, it's different from my own universe!
This shouldn't be happening!
"No, that's not how it went."
"Loki's mission at S.H.I.E.L.D. failed; he didn't steal the Tesseract."
"He stole the Tesseract at a different base."
Captain America immediately frowned, noticing this discrepancy.
Why would these people from the future have memory problems?
Why would there be such a huge deviation from what had already happened?
"It seems your world is indeed different from ours."
"Or rather, we're not from the same world."
Tony understood, realizing what was happening.
Actually, Tony had always had a question in his mind.
That is to say, after the diary had spoiled so much, did everyone still lose to Thanos?
Was Infinity War still lost, with Thanos successfully wiping out half the population, forcing everyone to travel through time?
Then everyone would be too useless!
Even if everyone was really so useless, there was still Zhou Cheng, the unfathomable owner of the diary.
With such a great god around, it was all for nothing?
Still couldn't change anything?
This shouldn't be!
And when Tony met his future self, the other party intentionally concealed his identity!
That was even more wrong.
After all, as the holder of the diary, future Tony had already known he would travel through time before the Battle of New York, right?
Then how could his past self not know his identity?
This concealment made no sense at all!
Not to mention, the diary had already specified the Nanotech Armor!
So Tony came to a logical guess: the Tony from the future might not have gotten the diary at all!
In other words…
The future Tony wasn't actually from this world; he was from a different parallel universe.
And at this moment, Tony's guess was confirmed.
The New York battle of these future Avengers was just like the one described in the diary! They really weren't from his world, but from another!
"That's right, our worlds are different. We should have traveled to a parallel universe," future Banner added, and then raised a new question. "Tony, what's your point?"
"Parallel universes!"
Tony cut straight to the chase. "That's my method!"
"Since you can travel to parallel universes, do it again, travel to other parallel universes."
"You can't touch the Tesseract in our world, that's the only way."
"It's a bit unfair to the others, but... it's the only option."
Tony laid out his entire plan in one go, leaving everyone stunned.
"Wait a minute! Wait a minute!"
Dr. Banner forcefully interrupted, interjecting to ask, "You mean, you're not just from the future, but also from other parallel worlds?"
"That's probably right."
Future Banner nodded.
"How did you do it, guys? You can actually do that in the future?"
Banner was stunned.
Future Banner then briefly explained the time travel situation to Dr. Banner.
They hadn't initially intended to travel to a parallel universe, only to go back in time.
But it seemed that time travel simply didn't allow for travel within one's own universe, only to other parallel universes.
Understood!
All the Avengers understood.
"Tony's right, since you can all time travel, why not do it again?"
Black Widow chimed in, agreeing with Tony.
This was indeed the simplest and most worry-free method, and wouldn't affect their own universe.
"You don't understand, we would have done this a long time ago if we could."
Future Captain America shook his head, a hint of difficulty in his expression. "But the problem is, because of the technology, we can only make this one trip."
"It's because of the Pym Particles, isn't it?"
Tony's question was phrased as a question, but his tone was quite certain. After all, the future Avengers only had one dose of Pym Particles left, as the diary had already explained.
The future Avengers were once again surprised.
They knew about things like this too?
This world's Tony is incredible, isn't he?
"Pym Particles, what are those?"
Captain America was completely baffled, not understanding what they were.
"A special substance, the only one I can think of, that can affect time travel."
Tony didn't offer Captain America much of an explanation, just showed off a bit in front of him.
Captain America didn't think too much about it.
He just assumed it was simply because Tony possessed an astonishing amount of knowledge, even mastering something like time travel, and nothing more.
After all, although Captain America didn't care for Tony's personality, he couldn't deny the man's genius.
This person's talent is completely on par with Howard, if not even better.
"Since you know about Pym Particles, you should know that no one can create them except Hank."
The future Ant-Man shook his head, expressing his concerns.
"First of all, that's too absolute. Can't we two Starks do better than one Hank?"
"Secondly, even if we can't replicate Pym Particles, we can still find out where they are, right?"
Tony already had his own ideas about this, and he said confidently to the future Avengers.
"Tony, everyone's waiting for us, we don't have that much time..."
"No, on the contrary, you have plenty of time. You can stay here as long as you want, because for your future, you've never left. You just need to return on time."
Uh, this!
Tony's words immediately left the future Avengers speechless.
"So, we're going to stay here and study Pym Particles now?"
The future Ant-Man was a bit flustered. How did things suddenly become so… surreal?
They were here to collect the stones, not to do scientific research!
"Stark, not to put you down, but do you think you haven't done this kind of thing before? I mean, future you."
"So, rather than studying Pym Particles, I'd rather investigate where we can find some."
The future Ant-Man then added.
Continuing to look for more Pym Particles, it seems like there might be something to it.
His cheap father-in-law, after all, had been Ant-Man for so long, he must have some Pym Particles in stock, right?
Wait a minute!
It's not just Hank! Even Darren Cross, the disciple Hank had foolishly taken in, had Pym Particles!
This could work!
It seemed like Tony's suggestion actually had some merit!
The future Ant-Man's eyes instantly lit up.
"Everyone, I think we can give this a shot."
Future Ant-Man immediately said to his two companions.
The future Avengers discussed it amongst themselves, and none of them expressed any objections, agreeing to Tony's suggestion.
And so, both sides reached a very pleasant consensus.
This mission for the future Avengers to snatch the Infinity Stones had happily morphed into a mission to obtain Pym Particles.
Frankly, the difficulty of this mission plummeted. No, it was more like a sheer drop.
Once they got the Pym Particles, the future Avengers wouldn't be limited in their time-traveling.
They could make more trips to collect the Infinity Stones.
Perfect!
