Chapter 412 - Dual

In the formless chaos, Arthas roamed through a sea of matter that resembled a star-filled sky. He was not armored at this time, but instead wore a loose shirt and trousers. If not for the ominous longsword he held in his hand, he would not have looked like he was going to battle, but rather on a casual outing.

The energy environment within Argus' stellar core was extremely complex, but these complexities could not obscure Arthas' vision. Even the spacetime folds left by Aman'thul's scattered power were remarkably clear to him.

The faint blue glow emanating from Frostmourne was out of place with its surroundings. At this moment, Arthas was like a faint luminescence from the deep sea, though no one could tell if it was a harmless floating object or bait released by a predator until they got closer.

Arthas' expression was very calm. He was constantly pursuing the fractured spacetime, these spatial anomalies caused by Aman'thul's power leakage. By following them to the place where the spacetime dislocation was most obvious, he could find a way to approach Sargeras.

Sargeras had not deliberately hidden his existence, but for most mortals, a complete Titan was a lifeform beyond their imagination. Their mortal bodies couldn't even perceive the "truth" that surrounded them.

As the surrounding anomalous energy became more active, Arthas gradually stopped and began to observe his surroundings.

The "legacy" from the father of the gods was scattered everywhere. Even the dim yellow stellar core energy was pushed aside by Aman'thul's energy, creating one miniature spacetime domain after another in an invisible manner.

Separated by the wrinkled spacetime shell, they floated around like bubbles in water, appearing so magnificent and beautiful. But behind the beauty of this spectacle, a terrifying murderous intent lay deeply buried.

These miniature spacetimes were products not recognized by reality, anomalous phenomena created by the combination of Sargeras' distorted power and the authority of Aman'thul, the father of the gods. These dangerous spacetime bubbles seemed close at hand, but the reality they contained might not be a real dimension at all.

Most matter, upon approaching such bubbles, would be completely annihilated by the power enveloping them, making it impossible to explore the unfathomable temporal domains within the bubbles.

Arthas felt the pull of gravity, allowing himself to float upright in the sea of energy, while slowly approaching the "bubble" physically closest to him.

The scene within the bubble was distorted and magical, just like a soap bubble in the sunlight. Colorful, kaleidoscopic images twisted and flashed within it. Arthas reached out, squeezed out a tiny bit of magic, and punctured this protective film.

Instantly, the scene in his eyes underwent a drastic change. The chaotic, multicolored specks deformed and reassembled in an incomprehensible order until the disordered color blocks re-formed into a visible image.

It was a landscape of mountain peaks like sharp ridges, their slender waists a result of the unique topography and natural climate acting simultaneously over millions of years. These mountains connected to form a cluster of peaks standing like bamboo shoots.

Most Azerothians might not know which world's natural wonder this was, but Arthas knew this place.

"Arakkoa Spires... Why am I seeing a scene from here?"

The number of planets the Titans had visited must be countless. Draenor could only be considered a grain of sand in the Ganges. Among the almost endless worlds, why did Arthas specifically see a vision of such an "unremarkable" planet?

Draenor did not have a world-soul. Such a world would generally not even attract the attention of a Titan. It was only due to a "coincidence" that Aggramar discovered this planet and brought some external influences to Draenor.

Within this bubble, Arthas could see the changes in the entire Arakkoa Spires over thousands of years. Projections of past history replayed within this bubble. He saw the ignorance and naivety of the Arakkoa civilization in its infancy, and he also saw how, after the discovery of the apexis crystal, the invincible Arakkoa Empire ruled this continent with absolute dominance, squeezing the living space of other civilizations.

And finally, when the last glory of the dynasty was ignited by the blazing sun crystal, and when true darkness descended, the struggling Arakkoa Empire completely collapsed under the crushing force of fel energy, along with the land where their civilization grew, dissipating into distortion.

Everything of the past turned into an illusion, and after witnessing the Arakkoa Spires shatter into dust, leaving no remnants, the scene within the entire bubble suddenly paused, as if pulled backward by some force, rapidly returning to the period Arthas first witnessed, when the flame of civilization had just ignited.

For the Arakkoa on the other side of the bubble, their civilization endured thousands of years of hardship, but for Arthas, he merely spent a few short minutes reviewing these thousands of years of history.

The power of the Titans was indeed mysterious and unfathomable; at least Arthas could not yet achieve such a feat. However, this was also related to Aman'thul's innate talent and authority. As a Star God who had traversed the real universe for countless eons, he had already honed this spacetime-related power to perfection.

Unfortunately, this power now served as Sargeras' aid. Arthas was even somewhat uncertain if Sargeras had hidden himself within a fractured spacetime, using this opportunity to seize Aman'thul's power.

After leaving the spacetime bubble that recorded the thousand-year changes of the Arakkoa Spires, Arthas saw countless similar bubbles. Each of them recorded events that occurred on a certain world, on a certain timeline. Arthas patiently noted down these scenes and found that although they contained a large number of unfamiliar worlds he had never heard of, most of them were records related to Azeroth and Draenor.

He even saw the spacetime of the moment the Well of Eternity exploded. Unfortunately, the spacetime bubbles that Aman'thul's power could carry were ultimately limited, and moreover, these bubbles themselves were only a small part of Aman'thul's power. Arthas could not use them from this side of the bubble to locate and track Sargeras' aura.

Otherwise, given the expansion of the portal hovering over the Well of Eternity, he should have been able to extract information about Sargeras from it.

After wandering in the spacetime distortion for some time, Arthas stopped. The abundance of anomalous phenomena here indicated that this was indeed a primary area of Aman'thul's power leakage. However, after observing for so long, he still hadn't detected Sargeras' presence—or rather, Aman'thul's presence.

With Arthas' ability to capture soul auras, it was unlikely that even a trace left behind could escape his eyes. Moreover, it was a Titan's soul, whose unique existence, unless separated by several dimensions, could not entirely evade Arthas' tracking.

While pondering, Arthas' gaze repeatedly swept over the bubbles that grew and spread everywhere like grapes. Although not anxious, further delay, allowing Sargeras to acquire more, would certainly make dealing with him more troublesome.

Suddenly, Frostmourne, held in Arthas' hand, trembled slightly. Arthas immediately understood. Following the guidance of the magic sword, his figure once again stopped before a bubble.

And in this spacetime microcosm, which was no different from other bubbles, all he saw was an endless expanse of vibrant green life, and robust, winding roots as thick as mountains.
