Outside the city.

The deafening explosions swallowed every scream of cries and prayers. The air itself shook as shockwaves rolled outward like invisible walls, crushing everything in their path.
"What the hell is going on!" Albert screamed.
Before anyone could answer, another violent shockwave slammed into them. Albert and several nobles were thrown backward like broken dolls, crashing hard against the ground.
The guards reacted instantly.
"Shields up!"
They formed lines, raising layered barrier shields one over another, gritting their teeth as they tried to hold back the pressure. The ground beneath their boots cracked, their arms trembled, and blood dripped from clenched jaws.
It was useless.
The next shockwave smashed into them and blasted the entire formation away. Shields shattered, bodies flew, and screams echoed as soldiers tumbled across the stone.
