The expressions of the two Transcendent experts immediately hardened after hearing Duke Lancelot's words. The swordsman slowly tightened his grip around his sword while the mage firmly held his staff. The atmosphere instantly became much heavier as neither side showed any intention of backing down.
The swordsman took a slow step forward and spoke in a cold voice, "Duke Lancelot, you are crossing the line, and you should know very well what the consequences of your actions will be. If you continue standing against His Majesty, there will be no place left for you in the Empire."
The mage also frowned deeply before adding, "This is your final chance to step aside. We still respect your seniority, but don't force us to treat you as an enemy."
Duke Lancelot quietly listened to both of them.
After a brief silence, he slowly shook his head.
"I see. It seems both of you are truly determined to push me until there is no path left."
