Chapter 220 – Jiraiya
After saying farewell to Toneri's parents, Yusuke returned to Konoha and entered Tsunade's office.
"It's been a while, Toneri," Tsunade said, eyes still fixed on the papers in her hand.
"It's been a while for me too, Sensei's wife," Toneri replied politely, bowing his head slightly.
Tsunade finally looked up, her golden eyes narrowing. "This time, you have only one mission—protect Uzumaki Naruto and guide his training."
"I understand, Lady Tsunade."
"Good. Your teacher will take you there. You still can't use space–time ninjutsu yet, correct?"
"That's right. I don't have any space–time abilities at the moment," Toneri admitted.
"Oh? At the moment? So you'll have them in the future?" Tsunade asked, interest flashing in her eyes.
"I'm not sure. But Sensei once said that when I completely synchronize with the Tenseigan, a new dōjutsu of my own will awaken—and that it will likely include space–time abilities," Toneri explained.
"I see…" Tsunade turned to Yusuke, raising an eyebrow.
"That's about right," Yusuke said, leaning lazily against the wall. "Normally, ocular powers like his evolve based on the user's consciousness. But yes, space–time manipulation tends to be a standard ability among Sage-level eyes."
"Tch… I want one too," Tsunade muttered, her voice dripping with envy. "Just imagine how convenient that would be—instant travel anywhere."
Yusuke smirked. "Unless a miracle happens, you'll probably never have one."
He pulled a candy from his pocket and popped it into his mouth casually.
"Tsk! I know! You don't have to rub it in!" Tsunade snapped, glaring at him.
"Relax. I didn't say it was hopeless," Yusuke said.
"Oh?" Her irritation shifted into curiosity. "What do you mean by that?"
"There's a workaround," Yusuke explained. "A Transfer Seal Technique. It's an advanced form of ocular energy manipulation. I can use my Rinnegan to transfer a portion of my eye's energy into yours. That'll let you use a few of my simpler ocular techniques."
"All of them?" Tsunade asked eagerly, leaning forward.
"No," Yusuke said flatly. "Just the simple ones."
"Hmph. Not interested," Tsunade muttered, crossing her arms.
If she could have all of Yusuke's abilities, she would've jumped at the chance. Especially his Elemental Body and Infinity—those techniques were simply cheating.
Infinity, in particular, was beyond comprehension. Even Tsunade doubted whether Yusuke himself could destroy his own barrier.
"Keep dreaming," Yusuke said, noticing her expression. "You may be a Senju, but your eyes aren't strong enough to handle my energy. They're not kekkei genkai eyes—too fragile. And besides, my techniques aren't the kind of thing anyone can just… pick up."
"Fine," Tsunade sighed, then brightened again. "But at least teach me your teleportation technique!"
She was already imagining all the gambling trips she could take—and vanish from—instantly.
"Alright, look into my eyes," Yusuke said.
He activated his Rinnegan. The purple rings of power pulsed, and a faint stream of ocular energy flowed from him into Tsunade's eyes.
"…Is it done?" she asked.
"Yeah. Try channeling chakra around your eyes. But remember—this energy doesn't regenerate. Once it's gone, it's gone. You'll need me to replenish it manually."
"Got it," Tsunade said nonchalantly.
She closed her eyes, focused her chakra, then opened them again. Both her irises had turned violet—Rinnegan purple.
"Hmm… ugly color. I don't like it," Tsunade grumbled.
Yusuke rolled his eyes. "Deal with it. The Tenseigan doesn't have space–time properties, and its ocular energy can't be used for this kind of transfer anyway."
"Fine."
She began testing the ability, blinking in and out of sight a few times. After several short teleports, her expression soured.
"The eye energy drains way too fast," she said in frustration. "And I can only warp within my line of sight."
"Calm down. I'll top it off again. Here—this will help." Yusuke waved his hand, condensing the air into a small, shimmering ring-shaped gateway.
"Take this. It's an Air Gate. If you channel the Heavenly Hand Power within it, the gate will expand, letting you teleport across long distances."
Tsunade nodded, accepting the small portal with fascination.
Afterward, Yusuke turned to Toneri. "Alright, time to meet Naruto."
When they arrived at the training grounds, Naruto's face lit up immediately.
"Uncle Yusuke! Toneri? Hahaha! Toneri, it's been forever!" Naruto shouted, waving wildly.
Yusuke smiled faintly and walked forward, one hand still holding Toneri by the collar.
"Sensei… could you maybe put me down first?" Toneri muttered awkwardly.
"Oh, right. Forgot about that," Yusuke said casually, lowering him to the ground.
"Toneri! When did you get back? You gotta see this—I've learned some crazy awesome techniques!" Naruto puffed out his chest proudly.
"Yes, I've heard about that from Sensei. You've done well, Naruto," Toneri said with a calm smile.
"Right?! Haha! I knew I was amazing!" Naruto laughed, full of childish pride.
"Alright, you two wait here," Yusuke said, turning away. "I'll go meet with the two Sages of Mount Myōboku."
Before either of them could respond, he vanished without a trace.
Naruto blinked, then turned to Toneri with a grin. "Anyway! So, the last two years, I've—"
And just like that, the endless chatter began.

Meanwhile, Yusuke arrived at Mount Myōboku.
"Gamabunta, where are the two Sages?" he asked, spotting the massive toad sitting atop a stone, guzzling sake as if it were water.
Gamabunta frowned. "What brings you here again?"
"Relax. I'm not here to pick a fight," Yusuke replied calmly. "You are my first summoning contract, remember? Just tell me where the two Sages went."
"They were taken away by Jiraiya not long ago. Even Gamaken was summoned to assist," Gamabunta said, his tone grave.
"Oh?" Yusuke's eyes narrowed slightly as something clicked in his memory.
If he was right… Jiraiya was currently facing Nagato.
"When did he leave?"
"Just now—" Before Gamabunta could finish, a thick plume of smoke erupted nearby.
When it cleared, Gamaken lay on the ground—battered and bloodied.
"What happened?" Gamabunta asked, alarmed.
"I'm fine, bro," Gamaken groaned weakly. "But Jiraiya's in danger. He's trying to enter Sage Mode, but… his opponent… it's like fighting a monster…"
"Flame of Restoration!" Yusuke declared.
Blue flames enveloped Gamaken's body, and within moments, his wounds began to close. The toad let out a sigh of relief.
"Gamabunta," Yusuke said firmly, "I'm going after them. Watch the mountain while I'm gone."
"Wait—call me in too," Gamabunta growled, slamming his massive fist into his palm. "I want to teach those bastards a lesson!"
Yusuke smirked faintly. "Fine. Don't fall behind."
And with that, the air shimmered—and he vanished, leaving only a ripple of chakra in his wake.
