Chapter 274 – The Battle Against Moryo
"Sir, Moryo is not an enemy that can be defeated easily," Ashiho said as he looked at Hatake Yusuke with a serious expression.
Seeing Ashiho continue to persuade him with such an anxious face, Hatake Yusuke chose not to say much more. He took Shion, Neji, and the others and headed straight toward the place where Moryo was sealed, clearly intent on reaching it as soon as possible.
"This place? Where is this? Wasn't I just at—" Shion said, her face filled with shock.
"This is where Moryo is sealed. Little girl, go and release him," Yusuke said calmly as he looked at Shion.
"That's impossible. I will never release that monster," Shion replied firmly, her voice filled with rejection.
"Shion, trust him."
At that moment, a voice suddenly echoed inside Shion's mind.
"Y-you… Mother?" Shion said in shock. Soon after, her mother, Miroku, began explaining their current situation—how the two of them were now sharing a single body.
"How interesting. The previous-generation miko," Yusuke said with a faint smile.
"Sir, I know you are extremely powerful, but that demon is just as dangerous. Are you truly certain you want me to release Moryo?" Miroku asked as she looked at Yusuke. With her perceptive abilities, she could tell that Hatake Yusuke was not an evil person, but she could not understand his true intentions.
"Of course," Yusuke replied without the slightest hesitation.
"May I ask, Sir, why you wish to free Moryo?" Miroku asked again.
"Well, I've been terribly bored lately, so I'm just looking for a bit of entertainment," Yusuke said casually.
Even Miroku, who possessed exceptional composure, could not stop her expression from stiffening. All this… just for entertainment?
"Very well, Miss. Please hurry. I'm getting rather impatient now," Yusuke said as he glanced at the dark energy that had already begun to overflow.
Miroku hesitated for a moment, but in the end, she chose to release the seal. After all, this matter was connected to the prophecy she had once foreseen.
Shion slowly stepped toward the seal and finally released it.
"Hahahahahaha! Miroku, I never expected you to be the one who would free me! Hahahahaha! In that case, I'll kill you first!"
Moryo's soul had long since escaped its confinement, and now his body was finally released as well. A massive, quadrupedal monster emerged, thick, oppressive dark energy pouring out from every part of its form.
"So you're Moryo? You're really ugly," Yusuke said as he rubbed his chin.
"Oh? And who might you be?" Moryo asked, staring at Yusuke with interest.
The demon was puzzled. The tiny human standing before him showed no fear whatsoever. Even Miroku had suddenly released him.
"My name is Hatake Yusuke. I came here to kill you," Yusuke said.
"Hahahahaha! Human, you're far too arrogant," Moryo roared with laughter. Soon after, Yomi, Moryo's vessel, arrived and slowly fused into his body.
"Pretty funny, isn't it?" Yusuke said, the smile on his face never fading.
"Neji, take the girl and retreat," Yusuke ordered. Neji immediately moved to take Shion away, but Moryo would never allow such a plan to succeed. After all, Shion was the only being in this world capable of sealing him.
"No need to rush," Yusuke said. In an instant, he appeared in front of Shion and used Rankyaku to block the dark energy hand that reached toward her.
Neji swiftly carried Shion away, retreating far from the battlefield.
"Alright, they're gone now. Moryo, give me a bit of entertainment," Yusuke said as he slowly removed the blindfold covering his eyes.
"Human… just who are you?" Moryo asked in shock. The moment Hatake Yusuke removed his blindfold, his aura changed completely. Even Moryo felt an emotion he rarely experienced—fear.
"Me? Hatake Yusuke. The strongest man in the entire history of this world," Yusuke said as he spread his arms and slowly rose into the sky.
Moryo stared at Hatake Yusuke blankly. He no longer dared to underestimate this human. For the first time, he felt a genuine threat.
Elsewhere.
"The strongest man, huh? What a truly interesting boy," Uzumaki Mito murmured as she watched him, a trace of unease flickering in her eyes.
Back on the battlefield.
Moryo's power began to surge violently. Terrifying dark energy formed multiple gigantic arms that stretched toward Hatake Yusuke.
Hatake Yusuke merely smiled faintly. He had no intention of dodging at all, both hands still tucked into his pockets as he calmly watched the attack approach. Just before it could reach his face, everything shattered instantly.
Seeing this, Moryo immediately activated Black Dark Dream Control, commanding his immortal army to attack Hatake Yusuke. The black horde spread endlessly across the land—countless in number, all of them beings that could not die.
"Meteor Volcano."
As he spoke, Hatake Yusuke fired countless streams of magma into the sky. Moments later, the heavens darkened, and one by one, gigantic magma fists slammed down with terrifying density. In a short time, the surface of the earth was completely submerged beneath a sea of magma.
"This… this is too much," Shion said, her eyes wide with shock.
"He's like a walking natural disaster," Tenten said in disbelief.
Elsewhere.
"This boy… he's absurdly strong. Is this Lava Release? It doesn't seem like it. With power and range like this, even Hashirama's Wood Release would be swallowed whole," Mito muttered, equally stunned.
Moryo felt the same shock. However, he quickly detonated his dark energy, forming massive arms to block the rain of magma.
Before long, the magma storm ended. Moryo's body looked somewhat disheveled and clearly not in peak condition.
"Blocked it, huh? Then next…" Yusuke said, standing atop the still-boiling magma. The scorching lava seemed alive, surging like waves as it rushed toward Moryo.
Moryo immediately enveloped himself in darkness.
"It's useless. Hahaha! Human, your power is impressive, but I won't die from mere magma," Moryo said arrogantly.
"Really? No need to rush. We can play slowly," Yusuke replied calmly. He understood perfectly well that as a being of darkness, Moryo could not be killed by ordinary magma alone.
But he had no intention of stopping there. He still had far more abilities to use.
As he looked at the fully recovered Moryo, a cold smile appeared at the corner of Hatake Yusuke's lips.
"If you are darkness, then let's try light," Yusuke said, clearly enjoying this battle.
A dazzling holy radiance burst forth around Hatake Yusuke. Points of light gathered together, forming one glowing sword after another, floating all around him and filling the sky.
"Eight-Foot Sword Rain."
The swords of light shot forward all at once toward Moryo. Moments later, a piercing scream rang out from the demon.
"Cursed human!"
At that moment, Moryo was truly enraged.
"I'll show you my final form!"
Even though the previous attack had severely injured him, it did nothing to stop him. Moryo immediately transformed, abandoning his black physical body and turning into dense black mist. In an instant, the sky was swallowed by darkness.
"This is bad. Moryo is entering his final form," Miroku said gravely.
"Final form?" Neji asked as he looked at Miroku within Shion's body.
"Yes. Demonic beings like him will abandon their physical bodies. That body will be devoured by their own power, transforming them into an immortal existence that cannot be destroyed. In the end, darkness will engulf the entire ninja world," Miroku explained.
"I don't know if that young man can truly resolve this," Miroku said with concern.
To seal Moryo again, Shion's life would have to be sacrificed—something Miroku absolutely refused to accept as a mother. Because of that, Hatake Yusuke, the strongest individual she had ever seen, had now become their last remaining hope.
