Lava and Rye walked for hours after. Sweat beads run down Rye's back. The sun was overhead, Rye plucked a giant leaf and planted the stalk of the leaf in his shirt.
The rest of the leaf leaned against his head shading him from the sun's rays.
"Are we there yet?"
He asked dragging his feet. Lava pointed at a mountain.
"That's it. We are almost there," Lava said, and Rye groaned.
When they got to the mountain Lava bit her thumb to draw blood. She placed it in the mouth of a baboon statue at the feet of the mountain.
Five other baboon statues that surrounded them started to vomit water. The water pooled at their feet but it never reached their ankles.
Bloodied water poured from the sixth statue turning all the water red. Lava led Rye to the middle and waited.
"What are we waiting for?"
"This is an array," Lava replied.
Suddenly, the water flowed in slow motion. Water droplets rose from the pool beneath them. In less than a second they disappeared and floating water fell.
After a while, the water stopped flowing.
Meanwhile, on level six on the same floor Rye and Lava appeared surrounded by similar baboon statues.
He fell to his knees and hurled into the pool of water. As the water drained it carried along Rye's last meal.
"What just happened? I feel like the ground was just pulled out from right underneath me," Rye complained as he wiped his mouth with his sleeve.
'The taste of the cupcake just reminded me of how hungry I am," Rye thought, as he got up.
"Don't forget it was replaced," Lava said unfazed by the effect of the array. Rye stared back at her with a tilted head and a frown on his face.
"I am talking about the ground," She explained but his frown grew intense.
"Never mind," she added.
Soon they heard footsteps, which kept getting closer. Lava made her zombies follow the noise.
Soon after they heard the sound of clashing metals. Rye walked slowly towards the battle noise. The room was dark all he saw were sparks from two clashing metals.
"Lava!" a voice rang out in the dark and the fighting stopped. Ariya, Juvita, and Yas walked out, behind them was a man.
He had with him two circular blades. They were chakrams with a half-yard metal handle.
"Yuno?" Lava ran and hugged him.
