Chapter 118 - Spider-Man Hasn’t Yet Met the One Who’ll Give Him Three Moles

The more you know, the more you fear.

That was the true terror buried deep within Lin Feng's heart.Even facing Thanos, no matter how powerful the Titan was, you could still fight him — still think of a way to resist.

But the TVA was different. They could erase an entire timeline from the source itself. If they decided your branch wasn't supposed to exist, that was it — you'd be pruned, gone, and dumped into the void.

Did people really think that weakling Loki killed Kang the Conqueror so easily?Every step before that — every word, every action — had all been scripted for him. They were all just actors, playing out stories written by Kang out of boredom.

Otherwise, why would countless powerful beings throughout history have all been helpless before the TVA?

When Lin Feng first crossed over into this world, he once thought — maybe he could do what Loki did: if he met TVA agents, just strike first.

After all, they looked like regular humans, hardly combat specialists.

But later, he realized how naïve that was. The TVA could launch a dimensional strike from the end of time itself — erasing him from the moment he arrived. He wouldn't even know it happened — one second alive, the next… gone.

That was what truly terrified him: the possibility that the TVA might reach back to the moment he first appeared in this world — when he was weak, defenseless — and snuff him out like a bug.And if that happened, there'd be absolutely nothing his present self could do.

And besides, there was no way the TVA's true power was as small as it looked. That simply wasn't realistic.

Take that drawer full of Infinity Stones, for example. Terrifying, when you thought about it.

Sure, logically, Infinity Stones shouldn't work outside their native universes. But look at the Avengers — didn't they time-travel and use them just fine? And in the What If…? universes, multiversal villains used Stones across realities too.

If the TVA was really just some ordinary bureaucracy, how could they possibly control every timeline? Just a few cheap tricks? Ridiculous.

The more Lin Feng thought about it, the more irritated he became. He didn't stay long at his company that day; instead, he got into his sports car and headed for Queens.

For such a poor neighborhood, his flashy car drew plenty of attention. If it were ten years later, the tires would've been stripped in minutes. But for now, the area was still relatively safe.

He was waiting for Peter Parker to finish school — yes, Peter was only in elementary school now.

Lin Feng wanted to confirm something — whether Peter had any special traits yet. After all, as the number one IP of the Spider-Verse and the main character across nearly every timeline, Peter Parker was destined to become Spider-Man.

So… did he already carry some hidden mark of destiny?

Lin Feng had quietly investigated the boy's background long ago — even met his charming Aunt May in person — but he'd never interfered. He didn't want to disrupt Peter's natural growth. It simply wasn't time for his story to begin yet.

From afar, Lin Feng watched as Peter left school. He spread his senses, sweeping over the boy's entire presence.

No abnormalities. No hidden spider totem inside his body.

So that meant the spider totem didn't lie dormant in every potential Spider-Man — it chose them at the critical moment.

In other words… Peter Parker simply hadn't yet encountered the spider that would make him Spider-Man.

Satisfied, Lin Feng withdrew his gaze, started the engine, and drove away.

The roar of the sports car's engine drew a chorus of stares.A supercar rumbling through a place like Queens? Yeah, that turned heads.

That night, after returning home, Lin Feng showered, sat at his desk, and began his nightly ritual — writing in his diary.

He was used to it by now. At first, it had felt awkward, but over time, it became a comfort — one of the few he had in this strange world. There were things he couldn't tell anyone else… only the diary.

Besides, his diary was tied to his power growth. That made it all the more important.

[Entry]Today was another busy, fulfilling day. (leans back theatrically)Unlike certain people who do nothing all day —Going to taverns and brothels to "listen to music."I mean really, what decent person goes to a brothel to "listen to music"?You believe that?I sure don't!

As for clean energy — I'm getting my share.Ivan Vanko… a man to be wary of, but not to be fully trusted.Typical American stereotype of a Russian: rough, uncultured, and somehow very good with tech.He even gave Tony Stark a run for his money — nearly killed him!And then teamed up with Justin Hammer to stir up trouble. But he forgot one thing — Tony's the main character. And when you mess with the protagonist… well, you're destined to lose.

As soon as Lin Feng's diary updated, countless people perked up.

By now, many couldn't sleep until they'd read his latest entry — whether it was a massive revelation or just "clear skies today."

Reading Lin Feng's diary had become a nightly ritual — for everyone.

At S.H.I.E.L.D., agents gathered around. Tony Stark projected himself in via hologram.

In her bedroom, Gwen Stacy, wearing nothing but a silky nightgown, rolled across her bed, flipping open her diary.Thinking back to her meeting with Lin Feng today, she blushed — wondering if he'd mention her in his entry.

In Asgard's royal palace, Thor and Odin sat side by side, reading as usual. But tonight, a third person joined them — Queen Frigga.

Eventually, father and son had been caught. Frigga had grown suspicious of their secret nightly meetings and confronted them — and they had no choice but to tell her the truth.

At first, they hadn't wanted to — the diary's revelations were too dark. The fall of Asgard. Loki's death. Odin's death. Hela's death.Even Frigga herself would die.

Such a future was too tragic to show her.

After reading it all, Frigga hugged her son tightly."Thor," she said softly, "I never imagined you would suffer so much in the future."

Thor felt awkward but forced a confident smile."It's fine, Mother. That's just another timeline. It doesn't have to be my ending."

Frigga's heart ached. She could picture it clearly — her son, broken and alone, losing everything: his family, his people, his realm. How could someone so restless and full of life end up as a depressed recluse?

The thought nearly broke her.

Her own death didn't frighten her — raised by witches, she understood life and death well enough. But Odin's inevitable end, and the ruin of her family… that was what hurt.

She finally understood why Odin had been so harsh in training Thor — forcing him beyond his limits. She used to resent it, but now she saw the truth: Odin had foreseen what was coming.

Their future was hanging by a thread.

If she could, she would've gone to Earth herself to find Lin Feng — to beg him for a way to avert Ragnarök.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Tony frowned at one line:

"Clean energy — I'll be taking a share too."

He didn't object, though. In fact, he thought it might be good. His own monopoly wasn't ideal — too much pressure, too much scrutiny.

If Lin Feng joined the market, it would actually help ease that tension.

And besides, Tony was confident. His tech was still the best — he'd keep the biggest slice of the pie.

Money, at this point, was just numbers to him anyway.

Sure, when most people said that, it sounded like arrogance. But for Tony Stark, it was literally true.

He and Fury had already discussed Lin Feng — his abilities made him practically post-human.

If someone that powerful still chose to make money through legal business ventures, that was a blessing.Because if he ever decided to make money illegally, there would be nothing on Earth that could stop him.

Just look at how he wiped out Kingpin and absorbed his empire overnight — that said it all.
