Chapter 125 - Hulk Returns

Lin Feng experienced for the first time what it truly meant to soar freely through the sky.

The speed was incredible. In an instant, he had already flown far away. The sensation was completely different from what he had imagined—like a fish swimming effortlessly through the sea.

Would a fish ever fear falling into the depths of the ocean?Of course not!

That was exactly how Lin Feng felt right now.

He finally understood why, in the movies, Tony Stark always looked so happy when he was flying.Being able to fly freely like this—how could anyone not be happy?

But while Lin Feng was feeling exhilarated, the moment he took off, he was immediately locked onto by multiple satellites. Especially those owned by the ever-prepared and ridiculously wealthy Tony Stark—he had several satellites in orbit watching the skies at all times, ensuring that no matter when or where, at least one could track Lin Feng's movements.

So, the very instant Lin Feng began flying, Tony Stark was the first to notice.

"Sir, something big just happened," Jarvis reported, waking up Tony Stark from his afternoon nap.

"What is it?" Tony stretched lazily and asked.

"Lin Feng has learned how to fly. It's a completely new ability," Jarvis said.

"What? He can fly now? How? Project it—now!" Tony jumped up instantly.

Within seconds, a live feed appeared before him, transmitted from the satellites.

On the projection, Lin Feng was seen soaring through the sky at tremendous speed. Occasionally, a sharp boom echoed—the sound barrier being broken. In other words, Lin Feng's flight speed was nearing, or even exceeding, the speed of sound.

"No way… how the hell is he flying?" Tony stared at the footage, wide-eyed, as if he'd just seen a ghost.

Impossible!

"He… he's just a normal human! How can a normal human fly?" Tony muttered, completely dumbfounded.

Flight—undoubtedly, it was one of humanity's oldest dreams. People had tried for centuries to achieve it.

But every method required external assistance.

Even Tony's own Iron Man suits relied entirely on mechanical propulsion.

And now someone was telling him that a man could fly unaided—just using his own power?

Sure, there was Wonder Woman before, but she was half-god, literally the daughter of the god-king.

Her being able to fly, while unbelievable, still made some sort of divine sense.

Then there was Thor—he needed Mjolnir to fly.

And Doctor Strange—he used some mysterious magic.

So what exactly was Lin Feng's case supposed to be?

"What's his current top speed?" Tony asked, frowning.

"Based on current readings," Jarvis responded, "his peak speed is close to Mach 1, possibly slightly over. Given his continuous rate of growth in speed, strength, and endurance, it's very likely he'll soon surpass the speed of sound consistently—and potentially reach double, triple, or even quadruple that in the future."

"So he's faster than me now?" Tony sighed helplessly.

His Mark suits could certainly fly fast, but there were limits—if not for the armor, his body wouldn't withstand the G-forces.

After all, Tony wasn't a trained pilot. Physically, he was only somewhat stronger than the average person—not nearly as tough as a pro fighter.

And Lin Feng could reach such speeds without any protection at all. That alone spoke volumes about just how terrifyingly strong his body really was.

"Yes, sir," Jarvis confirmed.

Tony was speechless. "So he just patched another one of his weaknesses, huh?"

Lin Feng's powers were still growing, and no one had yet seen any sign of a limit.

"Scrap the previous Anti-Homelander armor design," Tony finally said, rubbing his forehead. "Redesign it from scratch. Add flight capability to the Homelander's profile and recalculate what kind of armor strength we'll need to counter that."

"Understood, sir," Jarvis replied.

Meanwhile, inside S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Nick Fury had just received the same satellite footage Tony sent over—instantly throwing the entire command floor into chaos.

Everyone was stunned by Lin Feng's flight speed. It was terrifying.

"Nearby airbases have already detected him," Maria Hill reported quickly. "Two F-35s were dispatched to intercept, but they couldn't even get close. Lin Feng shot them down with his laser vision. One pilot ejected and survived, and Lin Feng even rescued the other before disappearing."

Soon, a short video arrived from the military—two jets trying to stop Lin Feng, firing missiles at him, all of which were effortlessly vaporized by his laser eyes.

Then Lin Feng caught one of the pilots in midair, set him down safely, and vanished.

Nick Fury rubbed his temples. "He really knows how to make trouble…"

Lin Feng had just gained a new ability—stronger than ever—and that meant he was also becoming exponentially harder to contain.

"Notify the military," Fury ordered wearily. "Tell them this is part of a classified S.H.I.E.L.D. experimental project. If they have complaints, their generals can talk to me directly."

He wasn't covering for Lin Feng out of kindness—he was terrified of the chaos that would erupt if someone actually went after him.

With the current military power of the United States, there wasn't anyone capable of restraining Lin Feng.

From Fury's point of view, it was simple: as long as Lin Feng was keeping quiet and not rampaging, it was best to just leave him alone.

"Then again," Fury mused, "he's not completely without rivals. There's still the Hulk."

He was referring, of course, to Dr. Bruce Banner—the Hulk.

Lin Feng had mentioned him multiple times in his diary—specifically the Hulk, not the man.

In Fury's eyes, the Hulk was another dangerous wildcard. Once enraged, Banner turned into that massive green monster and lost all sense of reason—a walking catastrophe born from a failed experiment.

Technically, the Hulk was an accidental byproduct of the Super Soldier Serum program—the same initiative that created Captain America.

S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra, and the U.S. military all had their own versions of the serum project, each hoping to replicate the results.

The Hulk was what the military's version produced—a one-of-a-kind monster.

Banner's transformation was caused by exposure to gamma radiation, but the experiment itself was meant to reproduce the serum's effects.

Now the Hulk was still being hunted by the military—especially General Ross, who hated him to the core and wanted him dead.

Banner had fled to India, and S.H.I.E.L.D. had been aware of his location the entire time. Fury just hadn't acted.

Partly because he considered the Hulk uncontrollable and dangerous—but also because Lin Feng's diary claimed the Hulk was one of the two major pillars of the future Avengers.

That meant he was reliable—to a point.

Another reason Fury hadn't moved was that he hadn't yet reached an agreement with the military, particularly with the hardliner General Ross.

And third, at the time, Fury hadn't realized just how many terrifying enemies the Avengers would eventually have to face. He thought their current lineup was enough.

Reality had proven him wrong.

Now, he had decided—it was time to bring Bruce Banner back.

And who better to send than Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow herself?

After all, the diary hinted that she and Banner shared a certain… emotional connection.

So, Natasha requested leave from Lin Feng, citing "family matters."

Lin Feng didn't question it—he approved it immediately, as if he already knew she was handling a mission.

At this point, the two of them were playing a subtle game of mutual understanding.

Lin Feng knew Natasha was a top S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and S.H.I.E.L.D. knew that he knew—but pretended he didn't.

It was a dance of quiet cooperation.

Now, in a crowded slum in Mumbai, Natasha and a small team approached a rundown house. She signaled for everyone to stay outside and walked in alone.

Inside, Bruce Banner was already waiting for her, wearing worn-out clothes, calm and collected.

"Agent Romanoff?" he greeted, clearly expecting her arrival.

Natasha paused, slightly startled. He actually recognized her.

She hadn't expected to be that famous.

What, was she some kind of celebrity in another universe now?

"You know who I am?" she asked, glancing around the cramped, shabby home. She couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

This was the life of Dr. Bruce Banner—a world-renowned physicist.

Back in America, he wasn't a billionaire, but he was still a top-tier genius, a man who should've been living comfortably—if not for that one accident.

If not for the gamma radiation that awakened the Hulk, Banner would've had a perfectly normal, successful life.
