"I'm creating a paradox!" Doctor Strange's heart was filled with despair as he heard this. He slowly stood up, his expression cold, and said, "You're gambling with the universe; you can't change an absolute point in time!"
The Ancient One immediately realized what he intended to do and warned him.
"Anything is possible; you taught me that!" Doctor Strange said, his voice icy. He no longer heeded his teacher's teachings; he was no longer the fledgling sorcerer apprentice of the past. "I just need more power!"
The Ancient One's words, combined with his own understanding, had successfully twisted her meaning, twisting it into, nothing is impossible, and what seemed impossible was merely due to his lack of sufficient power.
If it was just a lack of sufficient power, then he would simply become more powerful.
"Even the greatest sorcerers in history couldn't change an absolute point in time!" The Ancient One patted Doctor Strange on the shoulder, attempting to persuade him to let go of his obsession and face his painful past.
Just as she had done before; she had also been in great pain, but slowly, she had learned to accept it; such was life.
This life can't be relived. Even with the Time Stone, you can't change what's already happened. All they can do is focus on the present.
But at this point, Doctor Strange, already consumed by his obsession, wasn't listening to such discouraging words. He retorted, "How do you know? The books are lost, the library is destroyed!"
"Stop tormenting yourself, Stephen!" the Ancient One continued to persuade. "There's no hope!"
She had struggled with this before, but the end result was always the same, utterly useless.
Even in the process, she discovered the secret of the absolute point in time, understanding that some things could still be changed before they happened, but once they did, they were truly unchangeable.
Although she was the Sorcerer Supreme, the Master of the Mystic Arts, she wasn't an all-knowing, all-powerful god. There were many matters where she was powerless.
However, the Doctor Strange of this timeline hadn't reached this realization. Or perhaps, he had already fallen to the Demonic Dao. He was willing to pay any price to bring Christine back.
"Christine is gone. You can't save her!" the Ancient One continued to comfort him.
But this advice was useless; Doctor Strange, consumed by rage, refused to listen.
"No!"
He would never accept this reality. He would save Christine from death, no matter what.
"Stephen, this path only leads to darkness and the end of reality!" The Ancient One warned him meaningfully. The consequences of his actions were dire.
Seeing Doctor Strange preparing to manipulate space and time again, she immediately said, "Don't do this, or I won't hold back!"
With that, an astounding light erupted from her hands. This time, she would stop her disciple from falling to the Demonic Dao, just as she had tried to stop Kaecilius, though both attempts had failed.
"Then you'll have to catch me first!" Doctor Strange had no intention of directly confronting the Ancient One. Although they were both Sorcerer Supremes, he was very aware of his own strength. Even though he was far more powerful than the average sorcerer, he had no chance of winning against the Ancient One.
It had nothing to do with talent; it was simply a matter of insufficient experience.
At the crucial moment, the Ancient One struck Doctor Strange with a blow.
However, he still managed to escape. Using the Time Stone, he fled this era, arriving in the era he truly desired, one with the hope of saving Christine.
A monk-like figure appeared in the distance.
Everyone understood that this was the Earth of ancient times, but the exact era remained unknown.
Following the monk, Doctor Strange arrived at a palace atop a mountain peak.
"No entrance, how clever."
Doctor Strange saw that the palace had no visible entrances, indicating that only sorcerers could enter and exit. They could use teleportation, while ordinary people of that era would be left gazing at the structure in awe.
Doctor Strange entered and, after facing several trials, encountered another monk. Doctor Strange then stated his purpose for coming.
"I'm here to see the mage Cagliostro. Legend has it he holds the secret to breaking through absolute points in time. Where can I find Cagliostro?" Doctor Strange asked.
"Oh, he appears and disappears without a trace."
The monk replied.
"Great, you're being cryptic. Don't tell me you are Cagliostro," Doctor Strange joked.
"I am the librarian of Cagliostro, Oban. Follow me, mage Armani." The monk said.
"Mage Armani? That's a good name!"
"No, my name is Strange!" Doctor Strange quickly followed, hastily explaining himself.
Under the monk's guidance, he arrived in a library palace and began his learning journey.
"Okay, Transfiguration, Telekinesis, Teleportation…"
"Interesting, Time Manipulation, found it!" Soon, he found the spell he wanted.
"Breaking through the absolute point of time requires extremely powerful strength, and it's also unattainable," Doctor Strange said. "Yeah, it's obvious."
In this process, Doctor Strange quickly learned this magic and began to experiment. He summoned powerful creatures one after another. He not only wanted to obtain immense power from these creatures, but also to borrow certain body parts from them.
This process was extremely painful, even for Doctor Strange. But for Christine, he was willing to risk it. What were a little bit of pain?
Everyone watched as this Doctor Strange steadily descended into a more evil direction. For a moment, it was hard for them to comment, because if it were them, it would be hard to say. If their beloved died, and they had a chance to bring them back, would they also go this crazy?
The further he went, the more evil Doctor Strange became. He started from ordinary creatures to various dark beings, such as the Six-Eyed Crow, the Two-Headed Demon Goat, the Demon Dragon, and even demons.
These powerful evils were summoned by him and then absorbed of all their power.
"He's starting to look more and more like those evil witches from medieval legends!" Tony Stark complained.
Medieval Europe had a tradition of witch hunts, and in various legends, evil witches were probably like this.
And when Doctor Strange's power reached a certain level, he could even vaguely sense the Watcher's presence, but after looking around, he still couldn't find him.
However, everyone outside the screen saw this clearly.
"Is this the person who vaguely appeared in that zombie universe?" Tony Stark asked, pointing at the vague presence in the air in the video.
"Yes, that's him!" Natasha said.
Seeing this, everyone couldn't help but gasp. This person appeared in two completely different timelines, and was just silently observing everything, highlighting his extraordinary identity and strength.
Meanwhile, in the picture, Doctor Strange's power grew stronger and stronger, but as he absorbed more and more power, he also began to be influenced by those powerful demon creatures, becoming increasingly powerful himself.
It wasn't until the monk who brought him here fell that Doctor Strange tried to change everything. He tried to use the Time Stone to change this predetermined outcome.
"Don't do that." But the monk immediately stopped him.
"You used magic to stay frozen for hundreds of years, but I chose to live."
"But I can reverse time, let you live longer, live forever!" Doctor Strange immediately said, not quite understanding why someone would choose death when they could live.
"Don't speak." The monk shook his head, stopping him, then said, "In your world, is death even something you can plan for?!"
"I can't accept death," Doctor Strange said. He couldn't accept death, couldn't accept his own death, couldn't accept the death of those he loved.
He wanted to keep all of it, even if it meant paying a huge price, but he was a person who defied the heavens, so he didn't care.
"I know, I know." The monk nodded slightly; he already understood this person from the future very well. "But other Doctor Stranges might accept it."
"Others?" Doctor Strange was a little puzzled. What did he mean by other Doctor Stranges?
Wasn't there only one Doctor Strange?
And the people outside the screen thought for a moment, this monk was very likely talking about Doctor Stranges from other universes, but they were also curious, how did this monk know about other Doctor Stranges from other multiverses?
Apparently, he might have observed, or even known, other Doctor Stranges.
And he wasn't the only Doctor Strange he'd seen.
Faced with this doubt, the monk spoke, "Don't you understand? You're not a complete person, and half of your life is missing."
