Chapter 345 - You, Doctor Strange, Are the Root of All Danger in the Multiverse

The two walked slowly inside, illuminated by Wanda's chaos magic.

"Outsiders can never know what heartless monsters lie within!" the Sorcerer Supreme declared as they advanced.

The entire tomb exuded an aura of chilling dread. As Wanda lit the torches, they were immediately surrounded by several monsters.

Just as the pair braced for a desperate fight, the four monsters slowly knelt before Wanda in submission.

"They are waiting for me," Wanda murmured, her gaze fixed on the four massive creatures.

She then turned to the statue of Chthon and proclaimed, "This is no tomb. This is a throne!"

It was clear she was about to claim the Darkhold and finally obtain what she truly desired. The smile spreading across her face made everyone watching the screen realize: Wanda had truly turned dark.

The scene shifted abruptly to a high-tech building. Doctor Strange, escorted by four robotic soldiers, walked inside as the doors slowly opened. Before him sat a group of figures, perched upon high seats.

Before he could even speak, a voice boomed out, "Stephen Strange, you have been summoned before the Illuminati! I am Baron Mordo, the Sorcerer Supreme hereby—"

The speaker was none other than Baron Mordo himself, but Doctor Strange interrupted him before he could finish. "Karl?"

But before he could say another word, a massive Vibranium shield came hurtling toward him, bouncing back after a single strike. The figure who threw it was a dead ringer for Captain America, with two key differences: she was a woman, and the shield bore the Union Jack instead of the American flag.

"Captain Carter! The First Avenger!" Baron Mordo's introduction dropped an unexpected name into everyone's ears.

"What? Peggy?"

Outside the screen, Steve Rogers stood dumbfounded. How could he be seeing his own love? And more importantly, how did she look so young after all these decades? How had she become Captain Carter?

"What is this, Captain Britain?" Tony Stark couldn't help but snark.

*Seriously, the parallels were just too obvious.*

Everyone else could see it too. This was clearly Captain Britain, the counterpart to Captain America, Steve Rogers. It seemed that in different timelines, not only would there be counterparts of specific individuals, but also counterparts of certain *roles*.

Just like Peter Parker, the one chosen by the Spider-Totem.

Nick Fury and the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents all wore expressions of astonishment. How could they not recognize their own founding director?

She was the founding matriarch, after all.

S.H.I.E.L.D. itself had been established by Peggy Carter. But they never imagined she would take Steve Rogers' place and become Captain Britain.

Yet, on second thought, it made perfect sense. Because Peggy Carter was British.

A British person obviously couldn't become Captain America, so becoming Captain Britain seemed completely logical.

Still, the whole thing felt like a tangled mess, a chaotic stew—yet somehow, it was absurdly reasonable.

After Captain Carter took her seat, Baron Mordo continued his introductions, moving on to the next person: "Bragagobetgon, Tyre, and the Mist Guardian, King of the Inhumans!"

This was a figure no one had ever seen before. Nick Fury narrowed his eyes; he had never encountered this person, nor had he even heard of him.

However, the concept of the Inhumans was not new to him.

S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't completely in the dark about this. At the very least, they had some knowledge of this field: a mysterious race known as the Inhumans did indeed exist in this world.

But this group was completely different from vampires and werewolves.

Vampires and werewolves frequently operated among humans, and their presence was quite obvious. In S.H.I.E.L.D.'s eyes, they were relatively high-profile.

The Inhumans, on the other hand, were only vaguely known to exist, blending into the human population. Their specific circumstances had always remained a mystery.

At least, so far, nothing was clear.

"Captain Marvel, Guardian of the Universe!"

Next, Baron Mordo announced another familiar name.

Everyone's eyes widened in disbelief. This was a black-skinned woman who appeared to be Captain Marvel. But they remembered seeing a white-skinned female Captain Marvel who had rescued Tony Stark from space.

*How could Captain Marvel be like this in Universe 838?* The group marveled in astonishment, concluding that this world was truly a vast place where anything could happen.

Clearly, many people in this universe were different from those in their own. Gender roles had been swapped, and even races and skin tones had changed.

"And the smartest person in the world today, Richard Charles of the Fantastic Four!"

With Baron Mordo's announcement, Mr. Fantastic, the leader of the Fantastic Four, stepped forward and revealed himself.

"The smartest person?" Tony Stark's eyebrows twitched slightly. This claim felt like a personal provocation.

After all, he had his own pride. While he might not always proclaim himself the smartest person in the world, he couldn't stand someone else claiming that title in his presence—especially when there was likely a version of himself in that universe.

*Doesn't that mean my counterpart in another parallel universe was crushed in an intellectual battle, and that it was even publicly acknowledged?*

*How could the other version of me be so pathetic?*

Though he didn't care for such empty titles, it didn't mean he was willing to let someone else step all over him.

"Hello, Stephen?" Mr. Fantastic asked.

"The Fantastic Four? Do you have any songs on the charts?" Doctor Strange couldn't help but quip.

"Excuse me? Are you kidding me right now?" Captain Marvel asked, her voice laced with disbelief.

"One of them has a fork on his head, but he's actually got a bit of a point!" Doctor Strange retorted, ruthlessly mocking the King of the Inhumans. He was already in a foul mood after being inexplicably imprisoned and then dragged here against his will.

"You should be grateful Black Bolt didn't interrupt during the conversation," Captain Britain explained.

"Why? Does he have bad breath?" Doctor Strange shot back.

"This Strange is even more arrogant than ours," Captain Britain remarked, her tone tinged with irony as she faced the utterly uncooperative Doctor Strange.

"No, just more energetic," Doctor Strange replied.

"For now," Captain Marvel said flatly.

"Stephen, your presence here has caused reality to become unstable and chaotic," Mr. Fantastic explained. "The greater the impact you leave behind, the higher the risk of a Collision Event!"

"Collision Event?" Doctor Strange couldn't help but ask.

"A Collision Event is the erosion of the boundaries between two universes. When they collide, one is completely destroyed, or both perish together!" Mr. Fantastic continued to explain.

The audience outside the screen felt they understood much more after hearing this. So, the impact of traveling between universes was this severe?

"Your doppelgänger founded the Illuminati to make the difficult decisions others couldn't. Today, we must decide how to deal with you and that child!" Captain Britain took over, saying.

"Before we vote, if you have anything serious to say, now is the time!" Captain Marvel said.

"I do!" Doctor Strange continued. "If you're truly worried about a Collision Event, do you really think I pose a greater threat than the Scarlet Witch?"

Faced with Doctor Strange's reminder, Captain Marvel simply replied coolly, "If the Little Witch decides to Dreamwalk, we can deal with her!"

Clearly, they all possessed immense confidence in their own strength. In this universe, they had even eliminated Thanos—what else was there to fear?

A mere Scarlet Witch was hardly a threat in their eyes. After all, the Scarlet Witch of their world wasn't even a sorceress.

"No, you can't," Doctor Strange interjected. "Unless you give me the Book of Vishanti!"

Only he knew how terrifying that Little Witch had become. Only the Book of Vishanti could stop her.

"Thanks for the concern, Stephen," Mr. Fantastic said, "but the Scarlet Witch isn't what we're worried about. Based on our experience, the greatest danger in the Multiverse is... Doctor Strange."

His statement left everyone shocked, yet it wasn't entirely unexpected.

The greatest crisis in the Multiverse was, indeed, Doctor Strange.

As absurd as it sounded, it seemed to make sense. After all, the Doctor Strange from the Sacred Timeline had teamed up with Spider-Man and even unleashed the Multiverse of Madness.

"Wait, you mean *your* Doctor Strange is the strongest hero on Earth who died after defeating Thanos?" Doctor Strange suddenly asked, a bewildered expression on his face.

Outside the screen, everyone was stunned. What had they just heard?

Had they really just heard that Doctor Strange defeated Thanos? And that he died in the process?

Everyone knew all too well how terrifying Thanos was. He was an entity of Celestial-level power, a being who had wiped out half of all life in the universe and remained their greatest threat to this day.

"We should tell him the truth!"

At that moment, an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair appeared before the group.

"Our last member, Professor Charles!" Mr. Fantastic announced.

[Seeing Professor X really brings a tear to my eye. I never expected to see him in this universe. Maybe the mutants will return someday? But if we go by some versions of the lore, Wanda and Pietro are Magneto's children. In that case, what should they call Professor X?]
