Chapter 346 - Doctor Strange Breaking the Universe Is Just Basic Operation

Lin Feng's sarcastic comment directly interrupted everyone's train of thought. This was another superhero who had never appeared before, yet Lin Feng seemed very familiar with him. But he was so old—could he really fight?

However, without a doubt, everyone could also see that this was very likely the leader of the Mutants. As for what Mutants were, they didn't know.

But since there had just been the Inhumans, adding another Mutant wouldn't be much of a problem.

The only question was: what was the relationship between this group and humans?

Were they a humanoid race that looked similar to humans, or was it a completely new species?

Or perhaps the answer was hidden in plain sight—could they actually be humans who had mutated?

The crowd's confusion only grew.

As for Wanda and Pietro, they found it absolutely fascinating. In some versions, in some parallel universes, she and her brother were actually Mutants?

Weren't they just children from an ordinary family?

And this Magneto—even his name sounded imposing.

In the footage, Doctor Strange also seemed puzzled. He asked, "What truth?"

*Is there still something in this world that he doesn't know?*

"Our Strange isn't going to die that easily!" Professor X said.

But just as everyone was waiting to see how this universe's Doctor Strange would die, the scene suddenly shifted to Wanda. She was examining the spells on the wall of Sithorn's tomb, seemingly familiar with them. Then she turned to the Sorcerer Supreme and asked, "What do you think will happen now?"

"No, I've already accepted it!" the Sorcerer Supreme replied. "What I really want to know is, if you can force America to send you to any universe, why do you still want to seize her powers for yourself? You know that doing so will kill her!"

The audience's eyes lit up, sensing that the conversation had finally reached the crucial point.

At this moment, everyone recalled a vague hint from Lin Feng's diary: because her two children were gone, and possibly due to her connection with Mephisto, the demon from Hell, Wanda was on the verge of madness, tearing through the Multiverse.

Connecting the dots, it seemed that the young girl named America could travel between universes. If Wanda wanted to make up for her own losses, she only needed America to send her to that specific universe.

There was absolutely no need to relentlessly hunt America, let alone drag Doctor Strange into it.

Though no one truly understood America's origins or how she possessed such power, her abilities still left everyone in awe. The magic side was truly beyond anything the science side could currently match.

"To protect Billy and Tommy!" Wanda declared, speaking the names of the two boys. Without a doubt, these were the names of her children.

"What if they get sick? In the infinite Multiverse, there's a cure for every disease, a solution for every problem. I refuse to lose them again!" Wanda slowly revealed her true motives.

At that moment, a chill ran down everyone's spine. No wonder Lin Feng had written in his diary about how women are inherently weak, but become strong as mothers. And if they couldn't become strong for their children, they might just go mad. Now they understood exactly what he meant.

No one could have guessed that Wanda's relentless pursuit of Doctor Strange and America was driven by such a simple, yet profound, reason.

Of course, for Wanda, she might have been seeking the most secure solution. She didn't just want to find a universe where her two children were alive; she even had to consider the possibility of them falling ill in the future.

Across the infinite multiverse and endless timelines, any problem could be solved. As long as the probability wasn't zero, a solution was guaranteed to exist.

Wanda hadn't been this desperate before, but she had already lost her children once.

Under these circumstances, she couldn't bear to face such a loss again. To prevent it, she had to establish the ultimate defense: nothing that could possibly threaten her children's lives was allowed to exist.

That was why she needed America's ability to travel through time and space.

"You can try, but you can't control everything!" the Sorcerer Supreme warned.

He had seen too many beings attempt to seize control of their own destinies, and none of them had met a good end.

"I can," Wanda said calmly. "Look around you. It's carved in stone. I was meant to rule everything, but that's not what I want. I only want my precious sons!"

The Sorcerer Supreme snarled, "You're willing to sacrifice a child's life for this? Even if you can't be with the one you love, you're still together in some worlds. Isn't that enough?"

"It's not enough!"

His words completely enraged Wanda. She unleashed her Chaos Magic, blasting the Sorcerer Supreme backward and sending him plummeting off the cliff.

With the obstacle removed, Wanda began practicing the spells from the Darkhold, entering a state of Dreamwalking.

It didn't take long for everyone to understand what Dreamwalking truly entailed. In another parallel universe, there was another Wanda, and the one from Earth-616 could possess her body.

But clearly, this other Wanda was just an ordinary human. She had been possessed by the Wanda from Earth-616, and beside her were two children.

It seemed she had found her two children.

"Sister, you've lost your mind," Quicksilver, Pietro, couldn't help but say.

His heart ached as he watched his sister from the Sacred Timeline descend into madness. She had actually believed she could have children with a robot, but what was even more absurd was that in the infinite parallel universes, there really was a version of her who was an ordinary human and had given birth to two children.

"It's truly madness," Wanda had to admit. Her counterpart on the Sacred Timeline had completely lost her mind.

For her children, and even for their future, she sought to master the ability to travel across the Multiverse, triggering a series of tragedies. It had truly become Wanda's quest to find her family.

But she couldn't understand—even now, she still couldn't understand—why the version of herself in that timeline would fall for a robot, and even fantasize about having children with one.

And for these imagined children, she was willing to commit unspeakable atrocities.

At this moment, Professor X was explaining to Doctor Strange how their own Doctor Strange had died.

"Our Strange didn't die while defeating Thanos. We were fighting back then, everyone else uniting to stop Thanos, but Stephen, as always, chose to act alone!"

"He sought help from the Darkhold, began Dreamwalking, hoping the answer lay within the Multiverse!" Baron Mordo added, describing the events.

The crowd realized with a jolt that this was the outcome. Wanda herself had previously craved the Darkhold and learned the method of Dreamwalking, even directly controlling the body of her counterpart in another parallel universe.

This was hard for Stephen Strange, watching from outside the screen, to accept. It seemed his counterparts in other timelines were all too prone to slipping down the dark path, even if they always had a "justifiable" reason for everything they did.

He had walked the paths of the multiverse for so many years, never once failing, always managing to escape unscathed. He relied on having a justifiable reason. But the problem was, no amount of justification could make up for the terrible destruction he caused.

"And guess what?" Mister Fantastic spoke up. "One night, you gathered us all together and confessed that you'd been Dreamwalking this whole time. You told us things had spiraled out of control, but you never gave us the full story!"

*Great,* the narrator thought. *Another universe wiped out. At this rate, destroying universes seems to be Doctor Strange's standard operating procedure.*

Compared to Doctor Strange, Thanos really was nothing.

"Everyone in that reality is dead!" Captain Marvel added. "Every single person!"

"Stephen never denied the Darkhold's evil," Professor X said. "He helped us find the Book of Vishanti, and we used it together as a weapon to defeat Thanos!"

"But there is still one final threat!"

At that, everyone's gaze fell upon Doctor Strange. Without a doubt, the last person, the final threat, was none other than himself.

Using his mind-control powers, Professor X transported everyone back to the scene of Doctor Strange's execution.

The Doctor Strange of that time had fingers already corrupted by the Darkhold. Clearly, there was a price to pay for using such dark magic; it was just a matter of when that price would be collected.

Amidst the ruins, Doctor Strange knelt on the ground.

Professor X looked at him and said, "I will miss you, my friend!"

"I am ready," Doctor Strange replied.

Then, the King of the Inhumans called out, "I'm sorry!"

Then, he unleashed his supernatural power and brutally tore Doctor Strange apart.

All of this happened with Doctor Strange's full consent. He knew all too well that continuing to tap into the Darkhold's energy would only be a matter of time before he fell to darkness.

For the audience watching the screen, though they had just witnessed a way to defeat Thanos, no one was happy. The cost was simply too high.

Finding the Book of Vishanti was already an immense challenge. The only way to locate it was by using the Darkhold to Dreamwalk. But relying on the Darkhold meant risking corruption by its dark energy. Wanda was a perfect example—she had already descended into a state of demonic obsession.

While her loss of all her loved ones had certainly driven her to the brink, could the dark energy really be ruled out? The Darkhold and its malevolent power had undoubtedly played a crucial role in corrupting Wanda's mind.

Therefore, while this path seemed viable, it was actually a dead end.
