The first clip reached Maya before she even finished changing out of her scrubs.
Someone had sent it into the nurses' group chat with too many capital letters, and by the time Maya opened it, the video had already been forwarded five times. Her own name was in the middle of the mess. Luna's interview. Jinista's set. Soft lights. Calm voice. That sentence.
"I didn't get carried to the microphone. I stood there."
Maya sat down on the wooden bench in the staff locker room and forgot one shoe was still untied.
For a few seconds, she just watched Luna's face.
There was something different about seeing it on a proper set. In the JD Records room, Luna had looked nervous in a human way, close enough for Maya to see the hesitation in her hands. On television, she looked composed. Beautiful, yes, but that was not what caught Maya.
It was the way she refused to rush.
Jinista asked the kind of question Maya would have hated answering in public.
"So if someone says Dayo saved Luna?"
