"Are you okay? How brazen of you to not focus on the training…" Dravaris muttered, snapping his fingers in front of Rowan's face.
They were only taking a short breather after sparring for the fifth time that morning yet Rowan's mind seemed to have drifted far away. He hadn't been his usual talkative self all day and even now, his expression was distant while being lost in thought.
"What's wrong? What's got you thinking so deeply?" Dravaris pressed, his sharp gaze softening as he studied Rowan's face. He then handed his sword to a nearby knight, one of the many gathered for sparring practice before turning his full attention back to him.
"Uh, I'm fine, Commander," Rowan murmured, his voice a little too quick, a little too soft. "I was just… wondering if you eat rabbits or not."
Hearing that, Dravaris chuckled lowly with the sound deep and lazy, like he was savoring a secret. Then he tilted his head as he stepped closer. "Heh. You're really bad at lying, you know that?"
