Osaka Bay.
The Suzuki family's luxurious yacht loomed before the group.
Insanely lavish!
Tsuneo, stunned by the sight, gaped.
"What're you staring at?" Conan turned, chuckling at the backpack-wearing repairman.
Never seen a private yacht?
"This ship could hold hundreds…" Tsuneo muttered, exasperated.
This scene was outright bullying the poor.
"Probably more!" Conan grinned, carrying his bag and dove, boarding.
…
Nishino Masato retrieved the Memory Egg from the ship's safe, with cameraman Ryu Hanzawa filming nearby.
Yes, the four others eyeing the egg were aboard too.
Plus, a master-servant pair joined in the lounge.
"My great-grandfather, Kiichi, worked in Fabergé's workshop, married a Russian woman there, and returned to Japan the second year of the revolution," said Natsumi Kosaka, a beautiful woman, as her elderly butler, Mr. Sawabe, stood behind.
She shared her backstory.
Stunning, was every man's first thought.
"That baby girl?" Shiro Suzuki asked from the side.
"My grandmother," Natsumi replied.
"My grandfather and parents died in a car crash when I was five. My grandmother raised me."
Her butler bowed slightly. "Sadly, the madam passed last month."
Tsuneo: …
What a fate.
Too tragic…
"I'm a pastry chef in Paris. I returned to sort my grandmother's belongings and found a drawing by my great-grandfather," Natsumi said, pulling out a torn-in-half sketch from her purse.
"It's definitely the Memory Egg," Shiro Suzuki leaned closer, nodding at the ancient drawing.
"But it's gem-encrusted, slightly different," Uncle Mouri noted. "Maybe it had gems originally, but they were removed."
Conan dashed to the table, tilting his head to study the torn sketch, then asked Natsumi, "Could there have been two eggs?"
Tsuneo examined the drawing hands-on.
The tear's edges matched somewhat.
But the egg's halves didn't align perfectly.
"I see, the middle's missing a piece," Shiro and Mouri nodded simultaneously.
As they spoke, Conan casually picked up the 800-million-yen egg.
He studied it, puzzled why it was called "Memory."
And why would Kid, who targets gems, want it?
"There's a mirror here," Conan said, curiously poking the egg's base.
"Ding."
The thumb-sized mirror fell to the floor.
"Crap, it broke!" Conan panicked, set the egg down, and searched the floor.
So flimsy!
"What're you doing?" Mouri leaned forward, curious.
"A small mirror fell off," Conan said, holding it up, scratching his head sheepishly.
"What?!" Unlike the calm Shiro, Mouri's eyes nearly popped out.
Eight… hundred… million!
"Sell the kid to the Suzukis to cover it," Tsuneo said, arms crossed, enjoying the chaos.
Mouri, oddly, glanced at Shiro, as if gauging if he'd accept the deal.
He's useless, but take him!
Is that okay?
"No big deal. The mirror's detachable, added later, doesn't fit," Sonoko waved off, grinning.
She'd probably removed it plenty…
Shiro signaled Mouri to relax.
Rest assured, I won't make you pay with your kid…
Conan shot Tsuneo a glare.
This guy!
The detective studied the mirror again.
Under the room's light, it reflected a pattern.
Could it be?!
"Mr. Nishino, turn off the light!" Conan called to the secretary by the door.
"Hey!"
"What're you up to?!" Mouri snapped.
So many adults here, and this kid's causing trouble!
Nishino switched off the light.
As the room darkened, Conan used his watch's flashlight, aiming at the mirror, projecting the faint image onto the wall.
A castle appeared.
"Oh!" Shiro, the owner, was stunned to learn the mirror held such a secret.
"Why a pattern?" Sergei Ovchinnikov from the Russian embassy asked.
"A magic mirror!" art dealer Shoichi Inui, well-versed, stared at the castle, explaining.
"I've heard of these. Specially crafted mirrors reflect patterns via light," Seiran Pussy nodded.
Natsumi stood, asking her butler, "Mr. Sawabe, this castle?"
"Yokosuka Castle, no doubt," he confirmed.
"The one from ads?" Ran recalled, noting its resemblance to the wall's projection.
"Yes, my great-grandfather built it. My grandmother managed it," Natsumi nodded.
"So, it's the Kosaka family's castle," Sonoko said, recognizing the Memory Egg's deep tie to Natsumi's family.
Tsuneo: Why's this room full of rich heirs…
