Chapter 224 - Chapter 224: The Email

"Why didn't you use the gun? Do you look down on me?"

A smile appeared on Tsuneo's face as he reached out and clamped his hand around his opponent's wrist.

In the next instant, in the eyes of the thin robber, the smile on the pretty boy his boss had chosen seemed to change. It became unfamiliar, causing panic in his heart.

"B-Boss!" The thin robber's expression turned abstract with fear.

The hand holding the dagger felt as though it were being crushed by iron pincers; he couldn't move it at all.

What kind of hostage is this?!

"What kind of nonsense is that kid spouting? Why haven't you finished him yet?" The fat robber slammed on the brakes, stopping the car by the roadside. Curious, he turned his head to look back.

"Heh." Tsuneo sneered, twisting his hand forcefully.

With a crack, the dagger in the thin robber's hand dropped directly into the car, his wrist bent to the side at an extremely exaggerated angle.

"Ahhh!!!"

A scream akin to a pig being slaughtered echoed inside the vehicle.

"Damn it! What's going on?!" The fat robber panicked for a moment. He hurriedly unbuckled his seatbelt and reached for the pistol on the passenger seat.

How did this pretty boy suddenly turn into a tiger?

Can a normal person snap someone else's wrist like that?

"You come here too."

Just as the fat robber touched the pistol, a hand grabbed him by the collar. As if his weight meant nothing, he was yanked directly into the back seat.

Bang! Bang!

Two gunshots rang out in succession, but they only hit the car windows.

In the next moment, the white van parked on the side of the road began to shake violently, and screams of agony continuously emanated from within...

Inside Beika Bank.

"Takagi, what's the situation?" Inspector Megure turned to ask Officer Takagi.

There were witnesses outside the bank who saw the getaway car and noted the license plate. By now, there should be some results.

"We found the vehicle the robbers used to escape, but they seem to have switched cars. The search is still ongoing, and emergency roadblocks have been set up on all traffic routes."

Officer Takagi nodded after hanging up the phone.

"The robbers have a bomb. If any suspicious vehicle is found, extreme caution must be exercised," Inspector Megure said, still somewhat uneasy.

"That bomb... it might be fake, you know!" Conan said, looking up from beside the Professor.

"F-Fake?!"

Everyone present turned to look at the elementary school student.

"Conan-kun, why do you say that?" Takagi asked, scratching his head.

"Brother Tsuneo told me before he acted as the hostage. He said the robber put both the bomb and the detonator into the bag together. That bomb definitely has issues."

Conan nodded and said with a smile.

Normally, to prevent accidental detonation, the remote detonator would definitely be kept separate. Moreover, looking at how the robber handled the bomb, it didn't look like something that could actually explode.

"Is... is there a problem with it?!" The bespectacled bank manager was the most agitated.

Forget a fake bomb—even if it were a real one, having made that choice, he would definitely face repercussions later.

And now you tell me it's fake?!

"If that's the case, then Tsuneo-kun..." Inspector Megure glanced at the manager and breathed a sigh of relief.

He should be fine. After all, he was the one who personally caught the international thief Scorpion.

About ten minutes later.

Outside the bank, a van stopped just beyond the police cordon.

Tsuneo opened the car door and first threw out two people—one fat, one thin. Then, carrying two duffel bags, he greeted the officer on guard and walked straight in.

Reporters who had rushed to the scene upon hearing the news were snapping photos of the Repairman relentlessly.

They saw it clearly—those two duffel bags were full of cash!

"Tsuneo-kun!" Inspector Megure jogged to the bank entrance, unable to suppress the smile on his face.

News had just come from the hospital that the injured guard was out of danger. Now the money was recovered, and the two reckless robbers had been caught.

They could wrap up!

"I thought you took the money and drove off..." Conan smiled and said.

With this guy's strength, he could have handled those two the moment he got in the car.

"For this little bit of money? As if." Tsuneo felt he was being looked down upon.

Just a measly hundred million or so.

That said, this bank robbery process was really smooth. No wonder banks in Beika Town get robbed all the time.

That fat robber too—he looked goofy, but surprisingly, his plan was well-linked and quite comprehensive.

Oh, right. He was also very durable!

"We should hurry up and buy the beef," Dr. Agasa said, checking the time.

Just depositing money had taken one or two hours, and in the end, it still hadn't been deposited.

"You can't eat it anyway," Conan said with dead fish eyes.

His belly hasn't gotten any smaller. The Professor is definitely still sneaking food.

"Ai-kun received a new handbag today; she'll definitely go easy on me!" Dr. Agasa rubbed his nose and said.

"Should we eat before going back?" Tsuneo proposed a new idea.

While the three of them discussed dinner plans right there, Inspector Megure stood to the side listening.

So, Tsuneo-kun, you're planning on skipping the statement again, aren't you...

"You guys are really something. Just going out to deposit money, and you run into something like this." Haibara couldn't help but complain when she saw Tsuneo and the others return.

The robbery at Beika Bank had been broadcast on the news immediately.

"Taking that Reaper to the bank was my mistake." Tsuneo pushed the blame onto the great detective.

As the chosen one, that elementary school student simply couldn't settle down. Wherever he went, an aura of darkness would permeate.

"By the way, Mr. Tsuneo, I just received an email. It looks like it's for you," Akemi said, handing the shopping bags to the Professor.

"Email?"

The Repairman sat down in front of the computer.

"It's from that man, isn't it?" Haibara crossed her arms and walked over to ask.

"Probably. He's likely the only one who would contact me through Akemi." Tsuneo nodded and opened the email.

The two were referring to the FBI's ace agent and former Organization undercover operative, Akai Shuichi.

"Vermouth..."

"Why would they tell you something like this?" Haibara's pupils contracted, clearly startled by the content of the email.

Would the FBI easily share intelligence about Organization members with others?

"There's only one possibility: my intelligence is of a higher grade than theirs." Tsuneo smiled and deleted the email completely without replying.

"Teitan High School... what is she hiding there for?" Haibara's expression turned grave.

Indeed, any news related to the Organization would trigger her sensitive nerves.
