"ROOOAAAR!"
High above, a mass-produced Midgardsormr thundered toward Yubelluna, jaws wide.
She spun her staff, conjuring hundreds of magic circles in a heartbeat.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
A wall of explosions lit the sky—each magic circle detonated in a blinding cascade. The air itself seemed to sharpen into blades, slicing at the dragon's armored hide. Even with its thick scales, the beast flinched and retreated, battered by the magical onslaught.
Yubelluna's elegant robes snapped in the wind. She'd driven the monster back, but victory felt hollow.
As Tenra-sama's Queen, she could hold her own against one of these mass-produced dragons. But her fellow peerage members needed two, three—sometimes more—just to survive a single encounter.
The battle dragged on. Her sisters were accumulating wounds, and the reckless twins, Ile and Nel, had gone down hard—badly burned in a counterattack, now out of commission and relying on Asia's healing.
Lost in thought, Yubelluna's eyes caught sudden movement—Shuriya and Isabella breaking formation, flying straight toward the dragons.
"Shuriya! Isabella! What are you doing?!"
Her voice was sharp as she activated communication magic, demanding an answer.
"Yubelluna, if we keep waiting for backup, we'll lose sisters before help arrives. It's better to go on the offensive than stall and get picked off."
"And we're Tenra-sama's peerage. If we just wait for Rias-sama's team to solve everything, what does that say about us?"
Their voices came through clear—determined, unyielding.
Yubelluna's anger flared. "Did you forget Tenra-sama's orders? Get back here! These dragons aren't toys. One mistake and you'll be torn apart!"
Shuriya's reply was resolute. "Tenra-sama can punish us later. We've made our choice."
"Yubelluna, if you don't want us dead, then cover us!"
With that, the line went dead.
Yubelluna's heart hammered—anger and worry tangled together. But there was no time to argue. She snapped orders to the entire peerage, Mittelt, and Kalawarna:
"Everyone—cover Shuriya and Isabella!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Sword energy, magic bolts, lightning, fire—every attack the girls could muster poured out, carving a path for the two charging Rooks.
Shuriya and Isabella dove into the heart of the dragon pack. They locked eyes, nodded, and unleashed their full demonic power.
"HAH!"
Magic flared around them like battle auras, trailing energy tails as Shuriya rocketed toward a Midgardsormr.
CRACKLE! The dragon spotted her, mouth opening wide to unleash a bolt of lightning thick as a tree trunk.
Pain seared through her, but Shuriya gritted her teeth, eyes cold and fierce. Her fist crashed into the dragon's skull—Rook strength, pure and brutal. Scales shattered, blood sprayed, and the monster reeled.
"Isabella!"
"On it!"
Isabella grabbed the dragon's tail and spun, swinging the beast like a wrecking ball. The other dragons roared, but got knocked aside by their own comrade's flailing body.
With the field clear, Isabella slammed the dragon down with earth-shaking force.
The wounded beast tried to rise and retaliate, but the girls gave it no chance.
"HAH!"
Demonic power erupted. Shuriya and Isabella dropped from above, raining thousands of punches onto the dragon's body—each blow like a cannonball, scales and flesh bursting, the ground beneath them cracking and splintering.
But dragons weren't so easily killed. Its steel-hard body twisted, tail lashing out and sending both girls flying hundreds of meters.
Blood sprayed. Every bone screamed in protest. But after coming this far, giving up wasn't an option.
No!
They forced themselves upright, magic blazing, and charged once more—energy tails trailing, fists ready.
BOOM!
Blinding light. A wave of fire shot skyward. Their final, desperate strike landed—obliterating the dragon's head in a shower of gore and flame.
CRASH.
Headless, the beast collapsed, twitched, and went still.
"We—we did it, Shuriya! We actually did it!"
"Yeah! We really did!"
Faces pale, mouths bleeding, Shuriya and Isabella were radiant with triumph. They'd risked everything and won.
With one dragon down, their sisters could handle the rest. If they could just hold out a little longer until Rias-sama's reinforcements arrived…
They staggered to their feet, ready to fight again—when communication magic flared in their ears, Yubelluna's voice urgent:
"Shuriya! Isabella! Get out of there—now!"
Instinctively, they looked up—just in time to see a massive wind sphere plummeting from the sky.
No chance to dodge. In an instant, the sphere swallowed them whole.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!"
BOOM! BOOM BOOM!
Elsewhere in the dimensional rift, Tenra's giant battled Fenrir in a savage duel.
Suddenly, Tenra's heart clenched. He glanced toward Yubelluna's group, sensing danger.
"ROOOAAAR!"
Fenrir's eyes flashed—taking advantage of Tenra's split-second distraction, the wolf lunged and tore off the giant's sword-wielding left arm.
THUD THUD THUD—the wounded giant staggered back. Tenra grunted, pain echoing through their link.
Fenrir pressed the attack, leaping again, jaws aiming for the giant's head.
"You think I'm afraid of you, Fenrir?!"
Tenra's battle fury ignited. He steadied the giant, raising its remaining hand skyward.
A flash of light—a massive golden ring materialized: the Diamond Bracelet of Laozi, one of Tenra's Sacred Gears.
WHOOSH.
Tenra hurled the bracelet. Midair, it split into five, each ring snapping around Fenrir, locking the beast in place—
