"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 266: The Seven Treasures Unleashed

BOOM!

Siegfried cleaved through a spear of light, breaking free from Renare's relentless assault.

"Fallen Angel, your master's dead. Why keep fighting?" Siegfried spat, irritation bleeding into his voice. He hated this kind of reckless, self-destructive opponent.

Renare just sneered, wings flaring. "Dead? Don't be stupid. I'm still standing, and so is he!" She dove at Siegfried again, eyes blazing with defiance.

Elsewhere, the city's chaos paused. All eyes locked on the crater where Tenra had fallen. If he was really dead—if Cao Cao had killed him—this war was over.

Dust settled. The crowd held its breath.

Tenra Kamiyo was alive.

Blood soaked his armor, a gaping wound in his chest, every inch battered—but he was breathing.

Rossweisse let out a shaky sigh. Semilia and her team blinked, color returning to their faces. Katerea's sharp gaze softened, a sly smile curving her lips.

She'd bet on the right man.

"Enough gawking. Get back to the fight!" Katerea snapped.

"Yes, Lady Katerea!" her followers chorused.

Relief or disappointment, it didn't matter. The battle roared back to life.

Up in the sky, Cao Cao's laughter rang out—wild, almost manic. "You survived, Tenra Kamiyo! Hahahaha!"

That last attack—his strongest, short of Tyrant Ray—should have killed anyone. The fact Tenra survived? Unbelievable.

Tenra gasped, healing his wounds as fast as his powers allowed. His heart hammered in his chest; he'd never been closer to death. Only the last-second activation of Holy Mother's Protection—its damage-reducing, hyper-healing field—had saved him. Even so, True Longinus had torn through his body, its holy power rampaging inside him. Not even Smile of the Holy Mother could keep up. In the end, he'd resorted to a Phoenix Tear just to hang on.

Some gift, Cao Cao.

Tenra's lips curled into a cold, bloodthirsty smile. He owed Cao Cao a proper response.

But first—

He flashed back into the barrier, pulling Asia into his arms.

"Tenra-san, Tenra-san…!" Asia sobbed, clinging to him like she'd never let go.

She didn't understand battle, didn't know how close Tenra had come to dying. All she knew was that she'd almost lost him—and the terror of that nearly broke her.

"Sorry, Asia. I worried you," Tenra murmured, gently brushing her cheek. He used her Sacred Gear to heal the wounds she'd given herself trying to break free.

"Silly girl. You nearly knocked yourself out trying to reach me."

"Tenra-san is a god—you can't die, you can't!" Asia whimpered.

"Hey, I'm your god, right? I promise—I won't die."

Asia sniffled, finally calming.

Tenra stroked her forehead. "I have to get back out there. Stay here and help the others. But no more crazy stunts, okay?"

"Anything you say, Tenra-san."

He turned to Kunou. "Kunou, I'm leaving Asia with you."

"Yes, Tenra-sama!" The fox princess snapped to attention, cheeks flushed.

Tenra stepped out of the barrier, his gentle expression hardening. Armor flared around him, wings spread wide—he shot into the sky, cold and focused.

"Kept you waiting, Cao Cao."

"No problem. Though I'll never understand why you bother with women. Pretty faces or not, they're just trouble—heroes lose themselves in pleasure, and women are nothing but obstacles."

Cao Cao had always rejected the advances of his female comrades, seeing women as distractions at best, dead weight at worst.

Tenra snorted. "Guess you're destined to die alone."

"Let's save the talk for later. Right now, I want to return your little 'gift'."

Cao Cao grinned. "Bring it."

Tenra cracked his knuckles. Cao Cao spun his spear, laughter echoing.

"Can't use that last move again, can you?" Tenra asked, holding back for a beat.

Cao Cao shrugged. "You noticed. Sovereign Gem unleashes god-slaying power, but it's single-use per Balance Breaker activation. Takes time to recharge."

He smirked. "But don't worry. I'm a technician, not a brute. I've got plenty more tricks waiting for you."

"Good. I plan to pay you back in full—don't die too easily."

Tenra's grin turned feral. He lunged, fist cocked.

Fast—too fast. Cao Cao barely got his spear up in time.

BOOM!

The impact numbed Cao Cao's hand, sent him flying. Before he could recover, Tenra was there again.

"Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah! Hah!"

A storm of fists battered Cao Cao, forcing him to dodge and block, unable to counter.

"Down you go!"

Tenra flashed to the side, sweeping a kick into Cao Cao's gut.

Blood sprayed. Cao Cao crashed to earth, smashing through buildings and carving a trail of rubble hundreds of meters long.

"Not finished yet!"

Tenra was already above, hurling a massive energy sphere down at him.

Cao Cao's eyes widened. One hit like that—his human body would be obliterated.

"Jewel Treasure!"

In desperation, Cao Cao shouted. One of the halo's orbs shot forward, meeting Tenra's attack.

The energy sphere dwarfed the orb, but a black vortex opened before it, swallowing the sphere whole. Space twisted—a matching vortex appeared behind Tenra. The stolen energy burst out, slamming into Tenra instead.

Light and flame erupted, but Tenra emerged, mostly unharmed—his armor scorched, but Albion's powers had absorbed most of the blast.

Tenra flexed his fist, glaring. "Attack redirection? Annoying."

"But—"

"Not enough!"

Tenra charged again.

Cao Cao dodged, but Tenra's fists still scored bloody lines across his skin.

"This guy…" Cao Cao grimaced. This was no longer a duel—it was a fight to the death. If he didn't respond, Tenra would kill him.

"Elephant Treasure!"

Another orb detached, merging into Cao Cao's body. He glowed, then shot skyward trailing a luminous tail.

The Elephant Treasure granted flight—far faster than any normal magic, ten, a hundred times quicker.

"Hermes' Boots!"

Tenra wouldn't let him escape. Gold wings burst from his feet—crimson, blue, and gold, a dazzling display. He kicked off, shattering the ground, and streaked after Cao Cao.

Speed—blinding, impossible to follow. Twin streaks of light wove through the sky, colliding in thunderous explosions.

"Cao Cao!"

"Tenra Kamiyo!"

Another clash—shockwaves rippled, light flared. At last, the air stilled.

Tenra hovered, gasping, his armor in tatters. The fight had taken its toll.

But when he looked up, his eyes widened.

There were three Cao Caos.
