★Nuel's POV★
I stared in shock at the bodies gathered outside the Alpha's throne room.
Each one was wrapped in a white shroud, a sea of pale fabric that glimmered faintly under the morning light. The scent of death lingered heavy in the air, mingling with the murmurs of the pack gathered outside, their faces carved with unease as they awaited the council's decision.
My thoughts were clouded, lost in a haze I couldn't shake. I kept seeing the purple blood I had stumbled upon earlier that morning in front of Alpha Noca's chambers. That strange, unnatural shade had pooled across the marble floor, hastily wiped but not well enough to hide what had happened there. A trail had led away from his door, half-cleaned, as though someone wanted it forgotten but not entirely erased.
No matter how much I tried to steer my thoughts elsewhere, my mind always circled back to one possibility, the one I didn't want to believe.
The Alpha's throne sat empty as we went before to the hall.
