★Nuel's POV★
"Eryndor?" I called softly, but there was no answer. Not even the faintest hum from him.
I tossed over to the other side of the bed, staring up at the ceiling while my mind spiraled restlessly. I didn't know which thoughts to let consume me, Alpha Noca, my wolf or Eryndor.
But right now, it was Eryndor who occupied my mind the most.
Alpha Noca had promised me freedom after I failed the Luna selection, but I knew. I didn't need anyone to tell me that he wouldn't keep that promise. I was his prisoner, the offering his enemies had handed over to appease him for their sins.
And he wanted me to believe that he would let me go without harm? That sounded far too good to be true.
I turned to the other end of the bed again, my stomach growling from hunger. The broth and soup I'd eaten earlier were long gone, leaving behind a hollow ache that gnawed at me. Between that and the chaos in my head, I wasn't sure which one was truly keeping me awake at this odd hour.
