A dragon core is the crystallized heart of a True Dragon or Phantasmal Dragon that continuously generates mana on its own.
"Why do I have this dragon core? Is it because I drank the blood and ate the flesh of a dragon?"
He then remembered what he had read in his past life.
"But if I remember correctly, this means I might become a dragon, just like what happened to Siege or Artoria pendragon when she merged with Rongomyniad, losing her humanity.
Ashton frowns slightly. "I don't want to lose my humanity, I refuse." Then he started thinking hard."Then what should I do? He sat there, mind racing, then after a while, he got an idea.
"That should work. If I seal it using ether, then I can unseal it anytime I want, but I don't want to merge with it, so I will not unseal unless it's necessary.
Then he closed his eyes again, concentrating on his ether that has formed an infinity shape around his heart , then he started guiding the ether from his heart to the core.
The process was so hard that even a little mistake could undo everything he had worked for.
First attempt....fail.
He fails to concentrate, so he needs to start again.
Second attempt...fail
He finally succeeded, but when the ether reached the core, he lost control it was like the core was rejecting his ether.
Third attempt.....fail
He finally succeeded in making contact with the core, but the moment he tries to seal it, he loses control over his ether.
"Damn, why is it so hard?" Ashton thought,"Not yet. I'm not done yet." Then he calms himself down, and then he closes his eyes again.
Then he repeated the same thing, concentrating some of his Ether covering around the core, then here's where the hard part comes to make the ether solid.
It was harder than he thought, but being stubborn as he is, he didn't give up. Instead, he put more effort this time.
He concentrated very hard on making the ether around the core to freeze, but it was hard, so he went with another approach because the ether he now control in his body is like a liquid so he went with the method of liquid to solid.
Then he started by following that principle and started by making the ether around the core solid like ice but more solid than that. It took him more time than he thought.
And of course, it wasn't easy.
After what felt like eternity, he finally succeeded.
There, around the core, there was a solid ether
Ashton smiled slightly, and then he coughed out blood on the floor. "Damn, it wasn't easy, but I guess everything has a price to pay.
He wipes his mouth with the back of his hand and say "well at least I got good results"Then he touched his chest feeling a faint hum of the ether around the core,"but it was worth it."
Then he heard a knock on the door he quickly got on his feet and opened the door, and he looked outside the once blue sky, now replaced by the moon and dark sky and a faint shimmering lights of the stars on the distance dark sky.
In front of his door, a man stands there, Dino is wearing a white tunic, reaching under his knees and pants under the tunic.
"Your Majesty, the food is ready. Please come join us to the town center, " Dino said as he looked at Ashton "OK lead the way then," Ashton replied as he stepped outside and started following Dino from behind.
As the walk, Ashton suddenly asks a question "Dino did you feel different or something is different about your body?" "Not at all, but I do feel I have grown stronger since we ate the dragon and not only me but even Syph and the other 20 soldiers that ate the dragon."
Dino replied with a small smile. "I see," Ashton murmured and thought, "so they don't have the core that's a relief."
"So why me?" Ashton dismissed the thought as they arrived at the center of the village. People sit in benches made out of wood, eating and laughing together.
"It must be Kiran who made these benches," Ashton thought with a smile. "I wonder if Joseph is doing good."
After arriving, Ashton heard a familiar cheerful voice "ah Ashton come sit here." Kyen-Seen points at the wooden chair beside him and around the table sit Joseph,Christina, Syph and Kiran and on the table there is meat, potato and some vegetables.
Ashton smiled and went and sat beside Kyen-Seen as he looked at Joseph and Kiran and greeted them with a gentle smile. "Joseph, Kiran, how are you guys doing? i see you're in good health ."
Joseph replied, "I'm good, your Majesty. My job is also doing well."
"I see," Ashton replied and continued, "and please, when we are eating or not at work, please call me Ashton." "Okay Ashton" Joseph replied with a small smile.
Then Ashton looked at Kiran and said, "I see you have worked hard on helping to build the town and for that. I must thank you."
"Not at all. I just did like anyone who loves their home would do, " Kiran replied with a shy smile."Even so, thank you. "You have the talent for this job, so can I continue to count on you?" Ashton said while looking at him."Of course you can, Ashton," Kiran replied without hesitation.
Kyen-Seen, who was staring from aside, quickly suddenly raised a wooden cup filled with water and said, "Here is for the future."
Everyone present at the same time raise their wooden cups and shout "for the future."
"That should have been my line," Ashton thought,while touching his head inwardly, but to the others, he seemed calm.
Then people started eating while chatting to each other. Kyen-Seen tells the story of his adventures with exaggeration to the villagers, making them laugh. it was a lovely atmosphere.
Several hours passed just like that people started going to their houses to sleep, marking the end of the day.
