Chapter 118 - Cap.108 - Wilsander and Jenny

Soon someone appeared to guide Black Spider, he was extremely thin, to the point of making it seem as if he could be carried away by the wind. With a pair of horns on his head, red skin covered in lines, a tail, bony wings on his back and a sparse beard with short black hair, he was clearly a hybrid with Demon blood.

If Black Spider could bet, he'd bet that one of his parents was a stick insect.

-Commander, this is Black Spider, he wants to join the Floating Dragon.- The guard cleared his throat, stretching his back, he reported quickly.

The man looked at the group of Black Spiders with evident interest. - Are you really a Super Grade A?

Black Spider simply let his aura leak out again, causing the hybrid demon to narrow his eyes, but there was no fear in his gaze. With Ames on his back, even another Beyonder Grade A would only make him apprehensive, but not afraid.

Knowing Ame's character, she was never the type to negotiate, if you dare kill her subordinates, especially the most important ones, unleashing the Floating Dragon on you is the most likely outcome.

This was also one of the reasons Ringo chose Ames, despite her probably being the weakest of the Beyonders Grade A from the Shattered Star Ring.

Even so, playing with planets is like playing shuttlecock to her, nobody would easily irritate Ames, because once she was irritated, she had no restraint.

In the timeline prior to Han Xiao's arrival as Zero, she had gone insane after Aesop was killed, murdering countless people in the process. The woman was then hunted down and eventually disappeared.

Anyway, the Demon spoke again. - Well, I'll let the Dragon Emperor know, what she decides is up to her.

He started walking away, raising his hand to beckon them to follow him.

The group advanced calmly, their footsteps clicking steadily on the metal floor and soon they entered a giant building.

-This is the administrative center of the Floating Dragon.- The demon said as he calmly walked inside, heading towards the elevator. -By the way, my name is Wilsander and yours?

He seemed quite receptive, already treating them as if they were part of the group, but Black Spider bets that if Ames orders it, he'll be the first to cut their throats.

-Black Spider. - He introduced himself. - The idiot with a bottle in his hand is Rick, the beastman is Trax.

Wilsander nodded, without asking the names of the clones following Ringo, after all, only the high-ranking were worth remembering.

-Well, why did you decide to come to the Floating Dragon?- Wilsander asked curiously.

Rick seemed completely oblivious to the situation, returning to drinking to kill time, while Trax ignored Wilsander after a slight growl.

-Well, let's just say I've run into some trouble and I need a Mo- cough-cough... a strong supporter.- Black Spider grinned, coughing slightly to hide his embarrassment, he'd almost said "Mommy" a moment ago. If Ames heard, he'd be squeezed into meat paste.

Wilsander raised an eyebrow, scratching his beard with a curious expression, but didn't ask yet. The elevator stopped on the penthouse floor and they stepped out, seeing a large office with more than ten assistants in suits working with a demeanor that screamed "busy".

Behind the largest table in the room, a woman was reading some papers with an assistant beside her pointing to the paper from time to time, but when the assistant saw Wilsander arrive, she stopped and took a step back.

The seated woman frowned slightly and looked up. -Wilsander, what do you want?

The woman had no strong or weak points, appearing like an extremely ordinary human woman, wearing a business suit and with her hair tied in a high bun at the back of her head.

The demon smiled slightly, unconcerned by the woman's unfriendly expression. -Jenny, this is Black Spider, a Grade A mercenary. He wants to join the Floating Dragon.

Jenny paused for a moment, narrowing her eyes at Black Spider. Her eyes didn't show happiness at recruiting someone so strong, but were filled with suspicion and irritation.

-Why did you come to Ames? I don't recall posting any recruitment notices lately.- She went straight to the point, Wilsander beside her taking a step back, clearly not wanting to engage with the angry woman.

-Let's just say I might have offended someone I shouldn't have, so I need the Dragon Emperor's protection.- Ringo didn't want to lie to Ames, he knew very well what kind of person she was.

If she trusts you, she treats you like family, if she distrusts you, you become meat paste. There was no point in beating around the bush, he had to be clear and transparent with that woman.

Jenny snorted, as if she'd found out what she wanted. -Go back, Ames doesn't need any recruits right now.

She lowered her head and was ready to get back to work, but the next moment, her fingers froze when Black Spider's voice rang out.

-I can help you find Aesop.- His voice was soft, but it left Jenny completely paralyzed.

Perhaps other people might not know Aesop, but Jenny? As Ame's closest relative, she herself is the woman's cousin, but they treat each other like sisters. Jenny was also the one who kept an eye out for news about Aesop, constantly searching for the man. How could she possibly not know that name?

Jenny slowly raised her head and looked at Black Spider with eyes full of malice and irritation. -How do you know that name?

Wilsander, standing beside him, also released a small amount of his energy, ready to engage in combat at any moment.

Trax let out a soft growl, looking at the man with clear warlike interest. Rick, only Grade C, felt his drink trembling, even so, he still carefully placed the wine bottle inside his jacket, then put his hand on his Slicing Ship Blade in its compact form, ready to unleash it at any moment.

The clones didn't move, nor did Black Spider, instead, he said. - I am a seer, so I discovered that my best future was to come to the Floating Dragon, only a seer can find another, right?

Jenny had a mocking look when she opened her mouth, but Black Spider spoke before she could.

-You don't expect me to believe that, do you?- Black Spider said, with a slight smile and a raised eyebrow.

Jenny frowned, opened her mouth again, but before she could speak, Black Spider was already talking again.

-That proves nothing.

Jenny had an annoyed look, but just as she was about to complain, Black Spider continued.

-Stop it!

-I told you to stop!

-Damn, do you think I'd let Ames turn you into a piece of space sausage?!

-Damn it! I'm going to kill you!

Jenny was already fuming with rage, and Wilsander, standing beside her, was impressed, wanting to applaud. -"That was really cool!"- He thought, but he held back, Jenny looked ready to explode with anger.

Jenny took a few deep breaths, not trying to speak, or she would be cut off again. She looked at Black Spider thoughtfully, her anger fading. She finally opened her mouth to speak, and this time Black Spider didn't stop her.

-That doesn't prove prediction, maybe you can read minds.- Jenny pointed out.

As if expecting that question, Black Spider turned to Wilsander. -Do you have a die?

Wilsander raised an eyebrow and pulled out a die covered in numbers, it clearly wasn't an ordinary six-sided die. -It's my die for Wayne cards.

Ringo shrugged, picked up the die and a black pen holder from the table and handed them to Jenny.

The woman narrowed her eyes, picked up both of them and placed the die in the glass before spinning it and slamming the glass on the table.

-8. - Ringo spoke lightly, he didn't even need future vision, simple precognition could solve this.

Jenny opened the glass, annoyed, the 8 clearly visible.

She took a deep breath, thoughtful. - Maybe you can see through objects.

Black Spider rolled his eyes, grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from her desk and began to write something down. Jenny didn't stop him, partly starting to believe him.

-Open your communicator, choose a random document and start reading aloud. - Black Spider placed the folded paper on the table, Jenny raised an eyebrow, picked up the communicator and randomly chose a news website.

-Today, the emissary from the Golluk Empire visited the technical school for mages to search for the third fugitive prince. News suggests that...- Jenny stopped when Black Spider threw the paper to her.

She opened it and saw exactly the same text written there.

Jenny remained silent. Wilsander excitedly picked up the paper and looked at its contents. He became very excited in an instant, patting Black Spider on the shoulder. -Dude, let's make a fortune betting!

Black Spider's lips trembled and he rolled his eyes, ignoring the excited demon.

Jenny took a deep breath, looked at Black Spider again, and spoke. -I'll talk to Ames, come with me, just you this time, Wilsander, take the others to wait in the reception area.

Saying this, she stood up, adjusted her skirt and began to walk away, her heels clicking rhythmically on the floor.

Black Spider shrugged, gesturing for Rick and Trax to follow Wilsander as he went to finally find Ames.
