It seemed Jenny had warned Ames along the way, because the woman was already seated on her throne as soon as they entered. She stared at Black Spider with interest, but she still didn't know about Aesop, or she wouldn't be so calm.
Black Spider looked at the woman cautiously, but inside, Ringo's clone was far from calm, in fact, Ringo himself and his other clones were not calm either.
Ringo felt attraction to the opposite sex, the stronger the woman, the greater the attraction, but Ringo had only personally seen Grade B Woman up to that point, so the effect was minimal.
But when he got in front of Ames, he felt that impulse return, not as strong as Hila or Aurora, but it was there, clearly evident, for a moment the clone almost wanted to break free and start exuding pheromones.
Ringo even wanted to come here in person, but he held back. Luckily, Black Spider, like a good puppet, just stood there without showing any sign of it.
But his eyes never left her.
Atop the floating white throne made of Void Dragon skeletons, sat a woman taller than Ringo, at least two meters high, with long black hair, a black tulle-like dress with wide slits on the sides, her legs crossed and swaying slightly. The dress had a wide neckline, but her breasts were barely visible, clearly she had small breasts.
The woman rested her chin on one hand, looking at him as if she expected to see something less boring. Ringo felt that if he started a magic show now, Ames would watch without moving, purely to alleviate the boredom in the depths of her eyes.
Her face was pretty, but far from being a rare beauty, at least Ringo thought Hila, Eva and Lena were prettier, even Emma was prettier. But Ames didn't win over men purely with her face, but also with her whole package, her entire aura exuded a mixture of arrogance, laziness and seduction. The aura of a powerful woman.
Ringo quickly regained his composure as they approached the throne, he didn't make Black Spider speak, instead Jenny spoke first.
-Ames, this is Black Spider, a Super Grade Calamity, he wants to join the Floating Dragon.- Jenny spoke first.
Ames looked away from Black Spider and glanced at Jenny with interest. -This isn't typical of you, you wouldn't bring a recruit straight to me, especially not a Grade Calamity.
Jenny's lips trembled for a moment before she spoke. -He said he can help find Aesop.
The next moment, a wave of energy surged through the room, immense pressure fell upon Black Spider and he felt as if space itself was bending beneath him, yet he did not move.
Ames's eyes fell upon him with unprecedented seriousness, all laziness and indifference vanished, her body slowly adjusted as she crossed her hands and tilted her face forward.
-How do you know that name?- She asked in a calm and soft voice, but Black Spider could sense that a wrong answer would get him squeezed right then and there.
-I'm a seer.- he explained lightly. -I saw that if I helped you with this, you would accept me.
-A seer?- Ames asked with a hint of interest. -And you found yourself meeting Aesop?
-No, it doesn't work like that. Divination depends on choices, every small movement of fate can lead to different results. All I've seen is that if I proved I could be useful to your search, you would accept me.- Black Spider shook his head. -Even in my first visions, I was accepted by you in other ways, and it was you who asked me to look for Aesop after discovering my ability. I only brought the event forward. This would not only show my worth, but honesty would make it clear that I'm not here to act against you.
-Oh...- Ames asked, intrigued. -And why are you here? A Grade A with clairvoyant abilities... I'm not your only option, instead, those guys would be very pleased to acquire such a capable subordinate.
-Two reasons.- Black Spider raised two fingers. -First, among the three Grade A Beyonders from the shattered Star Ring, you are the most compatible with me. Your indifferent personality guarantees not only a greater degree of freedom, but you are also very protective of your own. If I went to Heber, for example, I would just be another chess piece for him.
Ames smiled slightly, not appreciatively, but as if he'd heard something funny. -And the second one?
-I was dragged into a problem I didn't want to deal with, joining you would guarantee immediate protection.- Black Spider shrugged.
Ames smiled even more brightly, his energy slowly converging back, Ringo felt for the first time the power of Grade S at that moment, it was... like standing next to an atomic bomb, even knowing it wouldn't explode, if it did... he would be vaporized instantly.
-So, you want to help me find Aesop in exchange for my protection?- Ames pointed slightly, leaning back against the back of his throne again. -But what guarantees that you will find him?
-He'll come to us.- Black Spider shrugged.
Ames narrowed his eyes, his smile fading. -How do you know?
-Because that's the kind of person he is.- Black Spider smiled slightly. -He won't resist. He probably already knows I'm here and may have even seen this conversation. Do you think, with his personality, he would choose to hide or show up in front of us for a game of cat and mouse?
Ames paused for a moment, then a soft laugh echoed through the great hall. Jenny narrowed her eyes as she watched Ames float slightly upward. "flying" toward Black Spider. The woman smiled, standing before him. -You're right, that's exactly the kind of thing he would do, well, Black Spider, isn't it? I accept, welcome to the Floating Dragon!
