Chapter 154 - Cap.141 - Developing Chi - Part.1

Inside the training room on the Floating Dragon, Ringo sat looking thoughtful.

He had long since abandoned Ames' body and retrieved his clone, teleporting to Wilsander, back to the Floating Dragon.

He didn't want to interrupt Ames and Aesop's reunion, so he fled as soon as the mission was over. Ames, who had reunited with his father, didn't mind Ringo's farewell and dragged Aesop along the way, ready to "catch up on the subject".

Ringo chuckled softly at the thought of Aesop's sad face before shaking his head.

He was working on something else at the time, Chi.

With Ames out of the picture for a few weeks, he would be free to train alone, but without Ames' pressure his rate of improvement slowed considerably, so he focused on improving his Chi.

The main point is that he had advanced beyond Li at that point, learning everything he could teach, but he believed Li's use of Chi was too... simple.

In short, it was a tool for both attack and defense. Li focused his entire life on physical improvement, and his focus was always more on his own body than on Chi. If he had to compare it, he would be like a Dragon Ball fighter.

Most are only focused on strengthening themselves with energy, firing energy beams and at most transforming that energy into other forms before firing it.

But even in Dragon Ball there are techniques that use this energy, such as teleportation, shapeshifting and flight.

Of course, Ringo never underestimated Chi, that's why he started thinking about techniques that use "vital energy" from the media of his old world.

Among them, 3 anime gave him the best ideas.

Dragon Ball, as previously mentioned, but Ringo hadn't watched much of it in his previous life, so his knowledge base about Dragon Ball was the lowest among the three.

One Piece, with its Haki mechanics, is a very useful reference.

Hunter x Hunter, with Nen, which to be honest, had its similarities, but restrictions and oaths probably wouldn't affect Chi.

Even so, he focused on HxH, because Nen training was very clear to him and aside from Hatsu, everything else was a clear possibility. Of course, not that Hatsu was impossible, but it would never be something fixed like in HxH.

In HxH, Hatsu is recorded directly, getting rid of it once chosen is very difficult, like sticking your hand in a bucket of tar, but it's not impossible. Of course, Chi is not Nen, so its rules are completely different.

Even so, Chi had enormous potential and there are some similarities available, for example...

Ringo raised his hand as his Chi focused, the energy flowing forcefully, leaking out uncontrollably, but for a brief moment, the Chi seemed to be contained, forming a vague shape as if his fist had gained a second, thick skin, before quickly shattering.

Ringo was trying to use Ten as armor to cover his own arm, but the energy wasn't used to such stability.

Ten is one of the four basic principles of Nen in Hunter x Hunter. It consists of keeping the aura pores (nodes) open and allowing the aura to flow around the body, creating a protective cloak that prevents its dispersal, improves physical resistance and slows aging.

The goal of doing this is to create a defensive layer around the body and maintain it at all times while still preventing the dispersion of energy. Ringo couldn't do this currently, Li might be able to after a few tries. He had spent years training his control and if he had his knowledge, he would probably be much stronger than he is now.

In any case, it's not just Ten that's useful.

Ren isn't really useful to him in terms of training, in this universe, training your body is the same as training your internal energy, but perhaps it would be useful for Li if combined with some energy training exercises.

Sure, Ren is basically forcing the aura out of the body to greatly improve not only attack but also defense, but that's not very useful either, practically a waste of energy.

In the world of Hunter x Hunter, being in Zetsu state and taking a direct punch from someone using Ren is basically asking to die.

Here, even if someone runs out of energy and takes a few punches without using their own energy, they will still be able to continue fighting normally.

Furthermore, it's not just the energy level, but the race itself is a factor.

Basically, fighting without Ren in the world of HxH is dangerous, but here? It's just normal. So Ringo wasn't focused on Ren.

Zetsu, on the other hand, could be useful, closing the Aura nodes and keeping all the energy sealed within the body, greatly diminishing its presence, perfect for assassinations.

In this world, learning this type of concealment practically guarantees an assassination skill and perhaps even a Subclass, but for Ringo, with extreme control over his own body, doing this is very easy, so he ignored Zetsu as well.

Now that three of the four basic Nen principles have been cataloged, the last one is Hatsu, but although it seems useless in this world, it is Ringo's main focus at the moment.

That's because the six types of Nen have specific training regimens and these regimens are perfect for training his energy control!
