Seeing the situation getting out of hand, I was about to interfere and had to clarify that those situations never happened or at least not in the way she explained it.
But before I could do so, Hikigaya, who was perhaps the only person aside from me who still had their common sense intact, interjected into the conversation.
8man: Hold on, while I don't usually care about other people's relationships, isn't it odd that your relationship went from being a stranger to a couple within a mere few days? Even in a novel plot it's completely unrealistic unless one of you is into a fling, but from what I know neither of you had that kind of vibes, at least Tachyon isn't the type to date someone easily after meeting them for short amount of time, I'm not sure about @MartialARTish as I never met him in real life, but he doesn't strike me as playboy of some sort, or else he would have started flirting with anyone of the girls weeks ago.
As expected of the monster of logic, he could see what others couldn't, reading the line in between and he was completely correct with his conjuncture.
Something that the girls failed to see, not that they're stupid, each of them are pretty intelligent of their own, however their blindness to see was due to the fact that they wanted some juice, and entertainment.
It's no surprise that romance is a hit to women, since they couldn't resist reading or listening to a story with that kind of topics in hand.

I could literally see Hikigaya breaking apart from that vicious comment, that was not kind at all.
"Ouch, that gotta be hurt." If it was directed to me, I wouldn't be able to recover my composure for more than a minute or so.
And that exactly was happening to Hikigaya.
He didn't come until a few minutes later due to Mikoto breaking his self-esteem.
And after he recovered he said this.

How petty! He did not just hit her where it was weak, he pretty much capitalized the fact that she's single for a very long time.

Now the chat was filled with their insults with one another, they didn't hold back at all.
I was a bit worried and couldn't help but ask the other members.
MartialARTish: Should I stop this? This feels pretty intense.
MadHorseScientist: Nah, don't worry about it this is pretty normal for both of them, you're new, so you don't know their unique relationship, they tend to insult one another more common than you think, the reason why they've been pretty mild with one another for the past few weeks is mainly because of you.
Okay, now that's a surprise. Was this considered normal behavior for both of them?
I wonder how that happened, and why it is such a common theme between the two of them.
SpecialistWinter: True, unlike the past both of them know that their insults are nothing but jokes.

As if that wasn't a concern, but regardless it's nice to know that there's no real fight between them.
Honestly, this sort of back to back insults kind of reminded me of Hikigaya and Yukino when they first met.
It won't turn into a full blown relationship like the original Hikigaya did with Yukino right?
If it did, I would be the first one to laugh at them, I'm not even joking.
But I doubt it would come true since Hikigaya is dating someone currently, unless Mikoto is okay with pursuing a man who is already in relationship with another, which is very unlikely to happen
considering who she is and has way too much pride to lower herself to that level.
Not to mention, she seemed to be the type to share a man with her sibling and if her twin doesn't approve then it's unlikely being in a relationship with her would last long.
Either way, I still have some issues with Agnes trying to change the narrative of what happened in the request with her own flare.
MartialARTish: Agnes, I still haven't forgotten the fact that you tried to change the narrative of the situation of our relationship, what's up with that? Could it be that you secretly have feelings towards me?
I expected her to completely disagree, but to my surprise, her reply was out of my expectation.
MadHorseScientist: Maybe I do, but it's way too early for me to tell. I have no experience liking someone and this is the first time I've taken a liking toward the opposite gender. I'm quite curious about where this would go. Whether it's friendship or perhaps more than that.
Honestly I don't know what to say after reading this, it felt so sincere and completely unexpected.
And after a minute of gathering my thoughts I replied.
MartialARTish: Your answer was completely out of my expectation, I imagine you'd disagree with liking me.
MadHorseScientist: Oh? What gives you that idea? I was serious when I said l liked you, although it's not something I'm sure about, whether it is friendship or liking you as a male specimen, or is this feeling temporary and only occurred due to our unique predicament or perhaps not as I find you quite appealing to me. I have much, much to learn and I barely have time for it.
There's so much in that sentence I don't quite understand and it's very complicated and the way she explained it feels gibberish even though in reality it's not.
MadHorseScientist: And if it turned out that I like you as male specimen, I wouldn't hesitate to ask you to be my boyfriend. As I have many experiments that need a partner because it's physically impossible to do it alone.
In one way or another, I can't believe how forward this girl is, she is the one who should feel embarrassed yet, why am I the one getting second-hand embarrassment.
