Chapter 11 - A long night

Robert smiled and greeted Celis, while summoning the living corpses.

"All grown up now, aren't you?"

Celis unsheathed their sword.

"Shut up."

Charging forward, Celis sliced through the army of living corpses into pieces as small as grains of sand.

Moreover, Celis's aura was so overwhelmingly powerful that it rendered the corpses completely unreliable; even those merely brushed by Celis's aura immediately experienced intense terror, far worse than the fear of death itself.

Basically, corpses have no emotions, even when reanimated.

Chopped to bits like grains of rice, Celis tried to push forward to face Robert, but was constantly blocked by the ceaselessly reanimated living corpses.

"Get out of the way, you idiot!"

One of them grabbed Celis's left leg, but without a second thought, Celis sliced off the hand blocking their way.

It was useless against Celis. They were hacked to pieces as Celis swung the sword endlessly.

Robert was amazed by Celis's fighting style—every movement wild yet elegant.

"Nice technique. I think that sword would suit me better if I used it."

Robert subtly mocked. Celis stepped on the corpses fallen on the ground, using them as stepping stones to leap high into the sky.

Spinning rapidly like a pangolin, Celis shot forward, targeting the main target behind: Robert.

In the split second of that rapid dash, the sound of clashing metal echoed.

Celis's sword was deflected by something—long, sharp nails, draped in covered white clothes, with long, messy hair; a woman with a beautiful yet terrifying face protecting Robert Pattinson.

Celis hovered in mid-air with arms open, unprepared to defend or attack.

The woman let out a terrifying, bone-chilling scream.

—KHAAAAAAHKKKKKK!!!!

The high-pitched sound wave she produced blew Celis far away, sending them rolling on the ground. They got up and realized who was protecting Robert.

It was a Kuntilanak, a mythical creature believed to be the spirit of a woman who died during childbirth.

Fuming, Celis glared sharply at her, not caring who or what was blocking the way.

Charging forward again, the Kuntilanak lunged back in response.

They exchanged blows; Celis managed to wound her while desperately trying to avoid taking hits.

The Kuntilanak's attack speed almost matched Celis's.

Realizing that increasing speed put the Kuntilanak at a disadvantage, she decided to use her sonic wave scream.

Celis purposely relaxed their body, letting themselves get blown up into the air. Using a precise strategy to create distance, they thought to themselves:

"Where did he even summon a Kuntilanak from? If I get touched by her even a little, I could lose."

The Kuntilanak wept and shrieked at the top of her lungs, a cry that instilled sheer terror in anyone who heard it. Her wails echoed clearly to the people relaxing leisurely along the banks of the Mahakam River.

"What is that sound?!"

Consequently, the bodies of those who heard it became paralyzed, unable to move freely, trembling in fear.

Unlike them, Celis—a person driven by a deep-seated, vengeful ambition—was completely unaffected.

She attacked Celis again, moving even faster than before.

The calm water of the Mahakam River now rose like countless droplets suspended in the air, darting fiercely to attack Celis, who struggled to parry the diverse assaults while the Kuntilanak simultaneously manipulated the water.

Although they managed to dodge the Kuntilanak's direct attack, Celis failed to notice one of the water droplets, which grazed and wounded their cheek.

Celis looked to the side as tons of water droplets darted swiftly to target them.

Pressing off the ground, Celis leaped backward repeatedly to evade the water attacks, yet still got hit, sustaining injuries across various parts of their body.

Glancing left and right quickly, they decided on a plan: darting from behind one tree to another.

Even thick trees suffered structural damage, riddled with holes from taking hits from that water.

Celis hadn't expected this.

"She can do that?"

Wind suddenly blew fiercely from the south. Tree leaves flew everywhere, obstructing Celis's vision.

The wind instantly calmed down just as the Kuntilanak appeared from behind, attempting to hug Celis. However, recognizing the distinct, pungent stench characteristic of a Kuntilanak, Celis dropped their body, taking a wide stance with their right foot forward while twisting their body backward to swing their sword.

Celis managed to hit her, but only cut through her clothes; inside, swarms of maggots were gathered, grossing Celis out completely.

Celis quickly distanced themselves, feeling creeped out and disgusted by the sight.

The Kuntilanak scooped up and grabbed maggots from her stomach, then threw them right in front of Celis.

Seeing hundreds of maggots swarming toward them, Celis felt creeped out, disgusted, grossed out, and even panicked.

Without a second thought, Celis sliced them up into pieces as small as—or even smaller than—grains of sand.

Celis shouted.

"Hey!! Cut it out, messy hair! That's gross, you know!"

The Kuntilanak flashed a wide, creepy smile, and now scooped up more maggots with both hands. Celis even made a bizarre, disgusted expression at the sight.

The Kuntilanak and Celis chased each other around, throwing maggots. A panicking Celis just ran frantically to avoid the maggots.

"ENOUGHHH!!! STOP THROWING THEM, YOU IDIOT! MESSY HAIR! IT STINKS! DISGUSTING!"

They ran far away from Robert Pattinson.

"Are they far away now?"

Robert approached the large statue of Lembuswana, opening his palm as a circular spell appeared.

"48 minutes left, the awakening of Lembuswana will destroy Kutai Kartanegara. If only that kid hadn't shown up, my job would've been done much sooner."

Celis was still being toyed with by the Kuntilanak. Not only was she throwing maggots, but she also manipulated the surrounding environment, creating fierce winds and turning the river water wild as waves constantly battered Kumala Island.

"What the hell is this, does she think we're on a boat ride?"

Then a massive wave blocked out the sky. Celis looked up, their mind racing with confusion over what to do.

"What should I do? I could run, but I'll still get hit. I might just die a stupid death here."

Remembering the portal from before departing, Celis instantly slashed through space, creating a wide-open portal, and stepped right through it.

Left behind, the Kuntilanak was swallowed by the waves, which slammed into a large part of Kumala Island, causing it to shake violently.

Celis appeared right in front of Robert using the portal.

"Robert Pattinson, enough playing around. My patience with you has run out."

Robert looked up as Celis stood facing him. Without another word, Robert conjured a machete from his hand.

Celis and Robert lunged at each other, exchanging blows as both took damage.

There came a moment when Robert gained the upper hand, swinging his machete so hard that Celis's Sumitsu sword was knocked out of their hand.

Knocked far back and lying behind Celis, Robert ignored Celis and opted to grab the sword instead. Grabbing Robert's arm tightly with both hands, Celis violently threw him in the opposite direction.

Robert's machete was also knocked away. Celis rushed over and delivered a punch to his face, making Robert's nose bleed.

Unwilling to take it, Robert retaliated by punching Celis's forehead hard, sending Celis flying back.

Even so, Celis managed to stand back up.

Robert went to strike again, but before he could, Celis grabbed Robert's arm and delivered a ferocious kick. It was a spinning kick—the first one struck Robert's face, and in a split second, the other leg delivered a tremendously hard kick straight to Robert's neck.

After the hit, Robert collapsed to the ground. Celis ignored him and went to retrieve the Sumitsu sword, but Celis's right foot was grabbed by Robert using his left hand.

Celis's gaze—filled with a ruthless ambition to kill—shattered Robert's mental resolve. Celis kicked Robert's head repeatedly until he vomited blood.

Yet Robert's hand still gripped Celis's leg tightly. Furious, Celis stomped mercilessly and violently on Robert's arm over and over until, on the final stomp, Robert's arm bone snapped.

Robert's arm became completely immobile.

Celis walked over to pick up the Sumitsu sword, but as Robert struggled to get back up just as Celis grasped the weapon, Robert lunged and struck Celis hard in the face.

Celis was knocked back slightly, though not too far from the sword. Robert reached for the Sumitsu sword, but Celis darted forward, spun 180 degrees, lifted a leg, and unleashed every ounce of remaining strength.

That back kick sent Robert flying, vomiting blood as his body slammed into a tree, halting his violent trajectory.

Celis suddenly appeared and stabbed Robert straight in the abdomen with the Sumitsu sword.

"It's over."
