Chapter 192 - Chapter 192: Drug Heist Case Solved

Chapter 192: Drug Heist Case Solved

Late at night, on a humble street corner in Miami's Little Havana, stood a shabby Cuban diner.

Though it had long since closed and the room was pitch black, the kitchen was brightly lit.

Three people, bundled together on the ground, were the drug dealer trio who had been pursuing Tommy.

Each had a rag stuffed in their mouth, making them utter only "muffled" sounds.

Tommy and Quinn, on the other hand, stood obediently in a corner of the room, surrounded by a group of men in dark suits, not daring to sit down.

Only three people were allowed to sit. The first was naturally Mr. Valdez, the owner of the stolen drugs, who sat at the head of the table.

The second was naturally Ron, who sat across from Mr. Valdez, his relaxed demeanor unwavering even under the glares of the bodyguards.

The last person was not Detective Morrison, but Morrison's immediate superior, the Captain of the Miami Police Department. As his subordinate, Morrison stood aside, carefully handling the situation.

"Mr. Ron, are you absolutely sure that dirty cop will turn himself in tonight?" Mr. Valdez, who had lost his merchandise, was the first to get restless.

Earlier, Ron had used Tommy and Quinn as bait to lure the dealer trio to them for the drugs. Valdez and the other two had listened to the entire story from the kitchen, using surveillance footage connected to the cameras and wiretapping equipment.

With that, Tommy's suspicion was completely cleared. If it weren't for Mr. Valdez's relentless pursuit of the lost drugs, tonight's incident would have been over.

"I believe he will come. After all, if he is willing to give up such a large amount of product, he won't be involved in this case at all."

Ron said firmly, and then turned his sharp eyes back to Mr. Valdez: "But no matter whether the drugs are found after he surrenders, I believe this case will no longer have anything to do with my army buddy, right?"

"That's not necessarily true. It depends on whether the drugs can be found. After all, he also transported a package from the scene. Only he can prove where it was transported to. Did he keep it? No one knows, right?"

Mr. Valdez stirred his coffee calmly: "Besides, he has not been cleared of suspicion of murdering Carlos. Even if you are a DEA agent, you have to be reasonable, right? Can the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration control Miami PD?"

"Haha, of course we can," Ron laughed: "But if I remember correctly, Mr. Valdez also has some business dealings that cross state lines."

"I'm not saying this for any other reason. I just wanted to tell you that as a federal agent, I have a duty to monitor all interstate criminal activities. If I accidentally spent a little too long investigating Mr. Valdez's operations, please bear with me. It's my job after all."

According to federal law, all criminal enterprises operating across state lines fall under DEA jurisdiction. This is called federal oversight, and it's Ron's biggest trump card.

Ron's official status gives him significant authority in domestic matters. While he prefers to work through local channels, he has no qualms about flexing federal muscle when necessary.

Mr. Valdez's multi-state operations are his perfect leverage. No criminal organization can withstand sustained federal attention.

Sure enough, Mr. Valdez's face turned pale after being threatened by Ron: "What does the agent mean?"

"I..." The Captain's face was tense: I want to go home! Can you guys not drag me into this fight between big shots?

"Don't worry, he got himself suspected of murder, so let him find clues and clear his name. As for the drugs, he didn't steal them, so don't bother him anymore."

As soon as Ron finished speaking, Tommy immediately put his arm around Quinn's neck and raised his hand: "Yes, that's right, we must investigate to the end and find the real killer! Right, Quinn?"

Ron clearly saw Tommy forcing Quinn's head to nod. So that's where the head-forcing came from?

Just then, the phone on the table rang.

Ron ignored it, instead removing the rag from Rico's mouth and patting his face. "What should you say later? Do you know?"

"I know. I'll say the drugs have been found, but these two are teaming up to keep it all."

Rico nodded frantically. Ron had just put him through hell.

First, he tied him to a chair, then covered his face with wet towels one by one. He could still breathe, but he felt a sense of suffocation, and the feeling became increasingly severe, until he was almost passing out.

"That's good!" Ron patted his head approvingly, tucked the bug into his collar, and returned the phone to him. "Go, go and fetch him."

...

"Where are they?" a voice began to echo from the bug.

"They're in there discussing how to divide the drugs. Sergeant, hurry up! They want to keep it all!"

"Damn it! I was the one who tipped them off about the drug shipment, and the patrol car that delayed the response was all my doing! Do you know how much of a risk I took?"

Sergeant Rodriguez's voice raged through the wiretap, and Mr. Valdez glared at the Captain. "Just look at the men you've got!"

Morrison's face grew increasingly smug. With only two people eligible to run for Captain, his position was practically guaranteed.

Rico brought the corrupt sergeant in, but upon entering, before he could even register something was amiss, he was ambushed from both sides. The large, suited men pinned him to the ground.

Tommy beamed with joy; his suspicion had finally been cleared.

"Alright, including the dead Carlos, all five perpetrators of the drug heist are here. You can slowly interrogate them and find out where they hid the drugs."

Ron stood up and stretched. Although he hadn't exercised much today, he still felt a little tired. Now was the moment to enjoy the fruits of his victory.

"As for the suspects in the murder case, I think it's necessary to re-investigate the scene. Is anyone coming with me?"

Ron said, gesturing meaningfully with his eyes. Tommy immediately raised his hands and shouted, "Me! I want to come! I must clear my name with my own hands! Isn't that right, Quinn?"

"Huh?" Quinn was stunned for a moment, then nodded quickly, "Yes, we want to come."

Ron didn't know exactly where to find the drugs, but Quinn was smart enough. Now was the moment to witness a miracle!
