Chapter 166: The Teacher in Trouble
Deep inside the park's woodland.
The blinding headlights of a jeep slashed violently through the darkness like two clubs.
The vehicle swerved recklessly off the path, finally screeching to a halt. A woman stumbled out, clutching the doorframe for support.
Her silver hair hung loose, one hand pressed against her forehead as she staggered drunkenly forward in high heels that sank into the soft soil. Her steps were as unsteady as the jeep's driving, and she seemed intent on leaving the woods.
Before she could get far, the driver's side door slammed open. A tall, handsome young white man leapt out, grabbing her wrist and dragging her roughly back toward the jeep.
"Trent, let me go, I want to go home…"
"Go home? Forget it. You're staying here with me!"
He shoved her violently onto the backseat. Under the dim yellow cabin light, his greedy gaze locked on her blouse—its top button undone, revealing the curve of her chest. Her long legs, wrapped in sheer black stockings, pressed tightly together in fear.
"Damn, just a few months and your body's gotten even better!"
Panting, he yanked off his jacket and fumbled with his belt, climbing into the car after her.
"Let go of me! Somebody—help—mmmph!"
The woman finally realized what was happening, but before she could scream, his hand clamped over her mouth. His other hand seized her throat, choking her.
"Mmm…!"
Her vision blurred from lack of air. Already dizzy from alcohol, she grew weaker and weaker, her struggles fading.
Rip—
He tore a seam in her black stockings, his eyes bloodshot with lust.
Then—
A hand suddenly fell on his shoulder.
"What the—" He didn't even have time to turn. A crushing strength slammed into him, hurling him straight out of the jeep. He smashed against a tree five meters away, the impact leaving him gasping in pain.
What the hell kind of strength was that?! For a moment, he thought he had been thrown by a heavyweight fighter.
He looked up, stunned. A tall woman stood before him. Though her face was shadowed by the night, her model-like figure was unmistakable.
Impossible. That kind of power from a woman?!
At that moment, a black-haired boy rushed over. The way he and the woman dressed, they were clearly a couple.
"This is between me and my girlfriend! Stay out of it!" the white man growled, clutching his side as he staggered up. His right hand slipped into his pocket. "I've got a gun! If you don't back off, I'll call it self-defense!"
Diana stepped calmly in front of Xi Nian, shielding him, then strode forward.
You just had to provoke her.
Xi Nian sighed to himself, trusting his aunt to handle it. He turned to check the car.
When he saw inside, he froze.
He knew her.
The silver-haired woman sprawled across the seat was none other than his class's assistant instructor—Felicia Hardy.
Her blouse was torn open, several buttons ripped away. The black bra underneath barely held her chest. Her knee-length skirt was disheveled, lifted at one side, and her stockings were ripped above the knees.
Her long silver hair was tangled across the filthy floor mats. Tears streaked her pale face, one cheek reddened by a slap. Faint bruises ringed her slender throat where she had been choked.
Xi Nian's hands clenched. Rage flared inside him.
Behind him, the white man screamed. Wielding a gun against Diana only made things worse for him.
Xi Nian pulled Felicia's skirt back into place, then gently shook her shoulders. "Teacher, are you alright?"
Her lashes trembled. Slowly, her tearful eyes opened, dazed as she focused on the familiar face before her. "Xi… Xi Nian…?"
"It's me. Are you okay? Any pain? Dizzy? Did you drink?" he asked seriously.
Felicia stirred, summoning her last bit of strength. She suddenly wrapped her arms around him, burying her face against his chest as tears burst out again.
For a moment Xi Nian froze. Who was the teacher and who was the student here?
But he knew—she must have been terrified.
"It's alright now. You're safe," Xi Nian whispered, gently patting her back, his hand brushing her silky silver hair.
After a while, her sobs quieted. Embarrassed, she pulled away quickly, realizing Diana was also there. She hurried to fix her torn clothes, her fear shifting into shame.
Xi Nian didn't push her further. He stepped out of the jeep to check on Diana.
As expected, the fight was long over.
Diana stood elegantly, her foot pressing down on an untouched pistol. The white man lay sprawled on the ground, foaming at the mouth, completely unconscious.
"Diana, you alright?" Xi Nian asked.
"What do you think?" she smiled lightly. "How's your teacher?"
"She'll be fine. We got here just in time."
Xi Nian's gaze hardened as it fell on the unconscious man. "We should call the police."
Otherwise, he wasn't sure he could stop himself from dealing a harsher punishment.
Diana nodded, reaching into her pocket for her phone.
But Felicia suddenly stepped out of the car. "Don't call the police."
"Why not? Teacher, this is a crime…" Xi Nian stared at her in disbelief.
Felicia bit her lip, her eyes pained as she looked at the man on the ground. "He's… a friend I knew from college. Please, just let him go this time."
"You can't be serious! If you let him off, he'll come after you again!" Xi Nian snapped.
She pressed her lips tighter, saying nothing.
Xi Nian wanted to argue more, but Diana gently squeezed his hand. "Let's take her home first."
"…Alright. Let's leave," Felicia agreed quickly, turning away without another glance at the man.
Xi Nian and Diana escorted her home. She remained silent the entire way.
At her apartment in Washington, Felicia bowed deeply to thank them before closing the door.
Outside, Xi Nian turned to Diana. "Why did you stop me back there?"
Her eyes glimmered with wisdom. "That man's family has powerful connections. Even if the police got involved, it wouldn't matter. Your teacher knows that, and she didn't want us dragged into it."
"I see…" Xi Nian narrowed his eyes, then smirked coldly.
Powerful connections? None stronger than his own.
If they didn't call the police, the punishment awaiting that man would be even worse.
Before leaving, Xi Nian had secretly placed a small split-body jellyfish clone on him.
"What university does your teacher work at?" Diana suddenly asked.
"State University. Why?"
"Nothing." She smiled faintly. "Just making sure that man never sets foot on campus again."
Xi Nian blinked, then laughed.
Now he knew exactly who he inherited his temperament from.
