Chapter 169: Kara
The soft glow of crimson and gold spread like watercolor beneath the rising mist.
On the vibrant green grass, Supergirl Kara sat with her long hair flowing over her shoulders, her fair and pure features radiant with youth. Her smooth, delicate neck and the alluring innocence of her figure seemed to embody everything beautiful about girlhood. A faint arc of light shimmered across her body, giving her pale skin a rosy, luminous glow.
Xi Nian's heart pounded. He couldn't look away until his eyes met Kara's bright, sparkling gaze.
"Right."
Xi Nian quickly turned his head, opened the backpack lying beside him, and pulled out the folded black Kryptonian battle suit.
"Last time, I forgot to return this to you—hey!"
He exclaimed as the black battle suit slipped from his hands onto the grass. The Kryptonian family emblem gleamed in the sunlight with sacred brilliance.
Before he could react, Xi Nian was shoved flat onto the grass. Wide-eyed, he saw Kara straddle him boldly. One gloved hand braced against the ground beside his ear, while the other pulled off her glove with her teeth. Her slender, snow-white finger pressed lightly against his chest.
Even through his clothes, Xi Nian could feel it. A gentle yet undeniable force tapped directly against his heart, sending tingling electric currents that spread throughout his body.
"Kara, calm down…" Xi Nian inhaled sharply, his breath growing quicker on its own.
Maybe it was because every extraordinary girl he'd met was stronger than him.
But this position… he was all too familiar with it.
Damn it. When would he ever be the one on top?
Whether or not he could stand, Xi Nian wasn't sure—though something else had already stood up in his place…
"Xi Nian… senior, I am already very, very calm…"
Kara's chest rose and fell wildly, her skin flushing a deeper pink, glowing with a beauty far beyond natural. She looked like a girl tipsy from wine, her sweetness edged with a dangerous allure.
"Right now, I'm calmer than I've ever been," Kara whispered.
Xi Nian didn't realize it, but as Lorna had once told him, he was like a walking gemstone—something extraordinary girls simply couldn't ignore.
The Master of Affection's passive ability.
Not only did it create an innate attraction for extraordinary girls, but it had a hidden trait—
The stronger the extraordinary girl, the harder it was for her to resist his attraction.
And once physical closeness and emotional bonds deepened, that attraction grew even faster, outpacing anyone else's!
A girl with unshakable will might resist for a while, but the more time she spent with him, the more her emotions would overflow like water in a glass.
And Kryptonian power was simply too strong. Kara's resistance to emotions wasn't nearly as refined as Diana's or the Ancient One's.
For Supergirl Kara, the glass had already cracked open long ago.
The very first time she lent Xi Nian Kryptonian power, she had wanted to take the first bite of the cake herself—but back then, the timing wasn't right.
Now, knowing Gwen and others were eyeing that same cake…
How could the Supergirl Kara possibly let this chance slip away?
…
"Kara, this is just because the mood is too perfect right now…" Xi Nian tried to reason with her, but his body betrayed him. After all, he was still a hot-blooded teenager, and Kara's Supergirl battle dress was a skirt.
Straddled like this—who could endure it?
Before he could say more, Kara leaned down and sealed his lips with hers.
This wasn't like the fleeting pecks from before.
This time, Xi Nian could feel it clearly.
Even with a body of steel, a Kryptonian girl had parts of her that were soft and dangerously sweet—sweet enough to melt him.
It was the bio-field at work.
Master of Affection, ability triggered.
Xi Nian's eyes widened. His hair stayed the same, but his muscles hardened like sculpted iron. His shirt stretched against the sudden definition of his arms and abs.
A surge of power awakened inside him—billions of times stronger than before. It burst outward as a crushing field of force, vaporizing the grass around them within a hundred meters. The shockwave rippled outward, shaking the mountains miles away!
This was the second time Xi Nian had gained Kryptonian power—Superman Mode!
But unlike before, without Gwen's powers as a stabilizer, the sudden awakening sent all his Kryptonian senses into overdrive. Just like when he first received divine power, he couldn't control it. He was on the brink of losing control, of rampaging.
"Xi Nian, what's happening…" Kara gasped, releasing her own Kryptonian field to try and calm him.
But she forgot—Xi Nian now had a Kryptonian field too, one identical to hers.
Her field had only just expanded when his ripped straight through it.
Xi Nian's eyes glowed faintly red. His body trembled once, and his clothes and shoes shredded apart. Cracks tore across the hillside beneath them, spreading dozens of meters wide.
Every movement threatened destruction.
This was Kryptonian power unleashed without control!
Xi Nian's hands gripped Kara's slender waist. With his senses amplified beyond measure, even through the resilient fabric of her battle suit, he could feel her body's perfect curves.
In this state, without control over his Kryptonian field, it seemed only Kara's own Kryptonian body could withstand him.
"Kara…"
Xi Nian realized he needed to release it—the overflowing storm of Kryptonian power raging inside him.
"It's okay, senior." Kara met his gaze, and as if understanding, she blushed and nodded.
Xi Nian didn't hesitate anymore. Grabbing the black battle suit in one hand and holding Kara tight with the other, he moved.
The hill beneath them shattered into rubble with the faintest shift of his body.
In an instant, their entwined figures shot forward like a streak of light, plunging into the vast lake ahead!
Boom!!
The thin icy surface exploded apart.
A column of water erupted skyward, raining back down in torrents. A rainbow arched across the falling mist as the crimson sunset bathed the lake in fire.
And that was only the beginning.
It was like some ancient beast had awoken beneath the lake. The waters boiled and churned into whirlpools and waves, echoing with a guttural roar from the depths.
The earth around them trembled as though hammered by a colossal force.
…
Inside the wooden house, several kilometers away.
"Kal, what on earth is going on?" Lois asked nervously, staring at the rippling water in her glass.
"This is…"
Kal's face twitched. As someone who had lived through it, he had a very good idea of what was happening. For a moment, he didn't know how to explain. Finally, he simply hugged his fiancée from behind, kissed her earlobe, and whispered, "Don't worry about the details."
"Details?" Lois blinked in confusion.
Wasn't this an earthquake?
TL/N: Who could've guessed, Kara was the first. I was rooting so hard for Gwen or Diana :< Another lost for the childhood friend camp xD
