Chapter 234 - SWWW Chapter 235: The Game with Polaris Lorna

SWWW Chapter 235: The Game with Polaris Lorna

"Boss, no using your special powers while gaming."

"If the character doesn't use abilities, how am I supposed to fight? Just normal attacks?!"

"I mean no using your own powers."

"Oh, fine. Like I'd need them to beat you anyway."

Lorna gave a proud little snort.

"Then let's start…"

Xi Nian spoke casually, but in truth he had already gotten serious, gripping the controller tightly, eyes focused on the living room TV.

The game began.

One minute later—

Game over.

Lorna's character was KO'd. Her little sharp canine teeth showed as she gritted them, glaring at Xi Nian. "Damn it. Did you hold back some secret moves you didn't teach me?"

"All the moves are written right on the screen. Didn't you already read through them once?"

Xi Nian looked innocent, but inside he was laughing.

He never imagined Boss Polaris would be this bad at gaming—worse even than Wanda the first time she touched a console.

He felt like he'd wasted his focus.

"Boss, a bet's a bet." Xi Nian turned to the green-haired girl beside him.

"Say it. What's your request?"

Lorna tossed the controller aside without hesitation. Her posture was still prim and proper, feet neatly leveled with the sofa cushion. But with her arms folded across her chest, that bossy aura came out strong.

"You said anything goes."

Xi Nian set down his controller, leaning forward. His burning eyes fixed on the cute yet domineering green-haired girl in front of him.

"Anything you want… fine."

Lorna seemed to realize what Xi Nian was after. She tilted her pale chin slightly, her syrup-soft lips smooth and glistening, at odds with her cold little face.

"Then here I go."

Xi Nian reached toward her.

Feeling his warm breath draw near, Lorna instinctively closed her eyes, her lashes trembling—

"Young Master."

Wanda, wearing a white apron, stepped out of the kitchen. Seeing the two of them so close together on the sofa, her gemlike red eyes widened in shock.

What she saw—

Xi Nian had both hands wrapped around Lorna's twin green ponytails, fingers stroking the silky strands as he tugged and shook them around like some new toy.

"From the moment you walked in, I've wanted to do this."

Xi Nian let out a long, satisfied breath.

So good.

"You damn little brother…"

Lorna's pale green eyes burned with anger. But spotting Wanda in the corner of her vision, she suddenly pouted, feigning a pitiful, tearful look.

"Young Master, don't bully girls!"

Wanda hurried forward to stop Xi Nian's antics.

"Okay."

Xi Nian released her, already content. Though really, if Wanda hadn't shown up, he probably would've been the one getting bullied instead.

"Lorna, are you alright?" Wanda asked with concern.

"I'm fine. We were just betting on a game. A deal's a deal."

Lorna forced a reply, but secretly shot Xi Nian a sharp glare.

Wanda pulled Xi Nian aside, whispering, "Young Master, don't bully her. If you want to play… I'll wash up and let you play with mine."

Xi Nian's heart nearly skipped out of his chest.

Who could resist that?!

Wanda's cheeks flushed as she hurried back to the kitchen.

Xi Nian turned back, only to find Lorna glaring coldly at him. "We're not done!"

She understood now.

This dumb little brother wouldn't dare actually kiss her. If his hair turned green, Wanda would immediately notice something was off.

He wouldn't risk it.

"Boss, my bad." Xi Nian admitted.

"It's not your fault. I lost." Lorna snatched up the controller again, coldly declaring, "One more round!"

Addicted already?

Xi Nian shrugged. He didn't dare provoke Polaris further, so he grabbed his controller. "Fine, let's play."

"No holding back. I want a fair fight, one-on-one!"

Her twin ponytails glowed faint green, nearly snapping their bands.

"…So strong."

From the balcony, Jarro opened its single eye in surprise.

It recognized her.

She was the same girl who once appeared on the rooftop—when demigod Xi Nian had gone to rescue her. Back then, she'd been weak. Now she radiated full power.

"Boss, you said it yourself."

Xi Nian was about to sit on the sofa, but sensing Lorna's unstable aura like a ticking bomb, he wisely plopped onto the floor instead.

"Get ready."

He started the next round.

The game began.

Within ten seconds, Lorna's character was already on the back foot.

"About to win again," Xi Nian thought.

Then—

Two petite socked feet stretched forward from behind him, brushing his shoulders before settling squarely on his knees.

"…"

Xi Nian froze. His character stalled, instantly caught in a long combo that shredded his health bar.

This was cheating!

"Boss, that's—mmph!"

Before he could finish, two smooth white legs hooked over his shoulders, squeezing his face tight, muffling his words.

His character staggered, health plummeting.

Too much!

Gritting his teeth, Xi Nian ignored the interference, barely clinging on with a sliver of HP. He counterattacked fiercely, whittling her health to half.

He could still win!

He steadied his breathing, treating her legs like a pillow, unmoved.

But then Lorna's pale green eyes flashed coldly.

"Little brother, take this!"

She leaned in, tightening her grip. Her socked feet stomped rhythmically against his lap.

Xi Nian shivered. His steel body didn't feel pain, but still—

His character froze. Lorna's avatar landed one last attack, draining the final HP.

Game over.

Xi Nian was utterly done.

…

After lunch—

The green-haired girl slipped on her boots, preparing to leave.

"Lorna, come play again sometime," Wanda said with a smile.

Xi Nian ruffled Wanda's hair, then turned to Lorna at the door. He spoke sincerely, "From now on, you can treat this place like home. Come whenever you want."

"Home…"

Lorna's eyes flickered. She gave a polite nod. "Alright. I'll remember."

Her hands clasped behind her back, chest lifting slightly as she looked at him meaningfully. "See you next time, Xi Nian… Young Master."

"See you next time, Lorna."

Xi Nian's heart sank a little.

He still owed her one request.

But… there was no helping it. That move had been too unfair.
