Sayami ignored Bee, her world narrowed to the broken state of Yushiro sprawled across the Octopus mucus-soaked ground. She pressed both palms against the worst of the sword slashes that crisscrossed his torso... deep, ragged wounds left by Minato.
Under a pulsing blood-red glow, the edges of the gashes began to knit together with unnatural speed. she could feel the faint thrum of his heartbeat strengthening against her palm, steadying from a low faint beat into a rhythmic pulse. Sweat beaded on her forehead, her breath coming in short, controlled bursts as she forced the blood back into depleted vessels, urging organs to hold on just a little longer.
Behind her, Samui and Mabui finally arrived and skidded to a halt, their chests heaving from the sprint across the village. Mabui's eyes widened at the wounded comrade, her usual composure changed as she took in the sight of Yushiro's half-healed body the one who came to her help against the Taijutsu boy of the Leaf... as the massive blood pools staining the ground. Her voice trembled as she stepped forward. "Bee-sama… what happened here?. We saw your tentacle, but this—" She gestured helplessly at the scene, the words dying in her throat
Bee didn't respond to her instead, his gaze locked onto Sayami as she worked. Till now, he did not if the already injured one is Sayami or not but when she shouted her clan's mate name earlier. He concluded that she was the real Sayami, the one who posses the cursed blood technique. Only then did he speak to Sayami. "Can you heal Darui as well?"
Sayami finished stabilizing Yushiro, ensuring his vital signs held steady before she rose. She turned to Bee, wiping a streak of blood from her cheek with the back of her hand. Her expression was detached, as she explained the limits of her power. "Mr. Bee, I can't heal. What I can do is push back the lost blood, forcefully redirect it to the organs before they fail, and wait for the body to do the heavy lifting."
Bee didn't hesitate. He nodded once, decisive as ever. "You can still try on Darui... he also has lost lot of blood." With a grunt, he unsealed the protective cocoon of mucus he had wrapped around Darui earlier. The slimy barrier burst open with a wet plop, and Darui slid out onto the ground.
Sayami approached Darui, her eyes scanning the damage. To her surprise, the wounds were already knitting far better than expected. Blood had been redirected back into his system that told her there was another's intervention. She glanced back at Yushiro, the only one capable of such a feat. "He is already pretty much healed. Most of the blood is back at where it belongs."
Yushiro, still lying there with his chest rising and falling unevenly, managed a weak smirk despite the pain. "Don't look at me like that. That kid had withstood dozens of sword slashes from that yellow-haired guy. He has earned my respect and his life was in even more danger than mine. So yeah, I've been slowly sending his blood back into his system as soon as the enemy left."
Sayami's lips pressed into a thin line, but she didn't argue. "Anyways, I will still check on him."
Samui, Mabui, and Bee waited patiently in a tense silence, their eyes never leaving Sayami. Seconds stretched into minutes, but finally, Sayami exhaled sharply and stood, wiping her hands on her torn sleeves. Darui's breathing had deepened into true rest; the immediate crisis was over.
She grunted under her breath, shooting Yushiro a glare laced with reluctant affection. "That loud brat risking his life for an unknown kid is a surprise." But her mind has shifted to the one who had truly caused this... Yushiro's ravaged body, Darui's near-death state... Minato Namikaze. She was filled pure rage as she steeled herself. I will kill him.
Bee sensed the change in Sayami. The air around her crackled with restrained killing intent. "En Sayami," he rumbled, using the honorific, "You want revenge? Then listen, don't freeze, Yellow Flash brought your kin to their knees. Heard your clan got a curse flowing deep in that blood, Use it right, make him drown in his own dud."
[Do you wanna get revenge on the one who caused this? Minato Namikaze of the Leaf. I was told by the elders of your clan that you possess a cursed blood technique... one that can curse an enemy with their blood.]
Sayami's eyes flickered as she didn't expect Mr.Bee to bring that up. "I have not been able to perfect that technique. To properly use it, I have to be immortal. The backlash would destroy me otherwise."
Bee caressed his goatee thoughtfully, his massive hand moving slowly as ideas clicked into place. He couldn't let her throw her life away, not when she and Yushiro had just become assets to Kumogakure.
"It's cool, no kill, just flex that might, make 'em see your power in plain sight, Here's the plan, keep it clean, keep it tight, scare 'em once, they won't pick a fight."
[It's okay. You don't have to kill. The enemy should just know that you are capable of that feat. So, here is the plan.]
He outlined it carefully.
"^%&^%&*"
Sayami's eyes widened as she absorbed the details, her mind racing through the brilliant idea. She thought for a long moment. "This can work. And don't give the whole blood you have collected. Once I improve the technique in the future, I will kill him for real."
Yushiro, still weak, eyed her with concern that quickly flared into anger as he shouted. "Sayami, you don't have to hurt yourself. This is madness—"
"Yushiro, this is my will. You shut up and lie down. I will do it nonetheless." Her tone brooked no argument. She would not be swayed, not when her comrades' life was put in danger.
Bee was impressed at her camaraderie. He pulled a sealed scroll from his pouch. With a puff of smoke, he unsealed the blade... the very sword that had sliced Minato's cheek back at the battlefield moments before Minato left with Kaien.
Blood droplets still glistened along its edge, Minato's blood was preserved perfectly by the sealing technique. Sayami's gaze locked onto it, with a subtle gesture, she controlled the blood, drawing every speck from the metal without leaving a trace. It coalesced into a small vial, filling only to a quarter of its capacity. She would save the rest for the future as she gave the blood vial back to Mr.Bee.
Bee held the vial out, his expression grave. "Are you ready?"
