And the all-knowing God-King let her see clearly just how precious and great this love truly was!
Yet she could also hold this love more calmly and freely in her grasp.
Metis slowly lifted her smooth, alabaster wrist and, with unprecedented tenderness, used those bonelessly soft slender jade fingers to gently caress her beloved God-King's face, so handsome and valiant it could make all beings swoon.
At the instant skin touched skin, it felt as if they had merged completely into one.
Like two droplets of water blending utterly into each other, that wondrous sensation of milk and water becoming one, indistinguishable.
It was the truest leaning of two divinities, a seamless union at the level of their very source.
"Yes, all that I am belongs to Zeus. I will belong to Zeus forever."
In utter serenity she once more affirmed this fact that filled her with supreme happiness.
Metis said softly, "Zeus, my love. Thank you for letting me become complete. And thank you for letting us be together for eternity."
Zeus smiled faintly, bowed his head, and once again pressed a kiss with a hint of roughness onto the beloved goddess's tender lips, domineeringly blocking all her words of thanks.
They never needed to say such words.
The happiness of love enfolded Wisdom once more.
Only this time, the wisdom goddess—who had now reached a realm of clarity and calm—faced her ardent love head-on and swept away all the unseen dust in her heart.
She was bright and wise, pure and limpid.
At the same time, she possessed a lucid self, passionate and proactive.
There was no longer the least trace of hesitation or confusion in her heart, no more anxious fretting over gains and losses, and no needless restlessness.
She loved Zeus, and Zeus loved her too.
She could not be without Zeus, and Zeus could not be without her.
She hoped Zeus would have all fulfillment and joy, and Zeus likewise hoped she would be forever happy and blessed.
Zeus's love was her happiness.
Everything else was nothing but trouble she made for herself.
Nothing else mattered anymore, nor was there any need to vex herself like a fool.
Just as the wisdom goddess was ardently hooking her beloved God-King's fervent tongue, guiding him to explore together that supremely sweet wonderland, Prometheus, who had finally waited for the portents to dissipate, came rushing to intrude.
In the days before, after Prometheus made that earthshaking resolve, this second-generation Titan of fearsome execution moved into action at once!
Then, just as he set out, he saw the entire universe rejoicing over some great joyous event, infinite auspicious portents veiling the cosmos.
That pure radiance of Wisdom shone generously and selflessly upon all living beings!
He even felt he himself had grown smarter!
It took but a moment's thought to know that the laws of the two Primordial Titans of intellect—Lord and Lady Coeus—had been bestowed by His Majesty the God-King upon his most beloved wisdom goddess.
None but the wisdom goddess could possibly bear such supreme wisdom.
Once he had thought it through, he was overjoyed.
The stronger the wisdom goddess, the better!
That could only benefit his coming plan, not harm it!
And it proved completely that His Majesty truly adored the wisdom goddess!
So long as he could pull the wisdom goddess into this, his great undertaking would be certain to succeed!
Racing back to Olympus without stopping, he did not hesitate in the least and went straight to call upon Metis.
Then he waited. And waited many days.
He waited until he was burning with anxiety, unable to sit still, but could only force himself to be patient and wait quietly outside the temple.
Originally he had meant to wait until the God-King had departed before seeking an audience.
But after such long days of waiting, seeing those boundless portents at last dissipate, he truly could no longer hold back and immediately came to request an audience.
In any case, he would not say exactly what it was. First find a pretext to coax the wisdom goddess down to the world, then talk.
He was performing a task for His Majesty the God-King, creating life, and had encountered some problems, so he wished to consult the wisdom goddess—was that not perfectly normal?
Reasonable!
A White Lotus nymph in a cyan gauze dress stepped gracefully into the hall with steps truly as lovely as lotus blooms.
She kept her head bowed low and did not dare look upon the, well… rather hard-to-describe amorous scene within.
Mm…
Her Excellency Eurynome was still to the side with her innocent big eyes fixed straight upon them.
This… was a bit too much—
His Majesty the God-King was indeed very great, but in certain matters, he was truly a bit… messy…
"Great His Majesty the God-King, honored Lady of Wisdom, and Her Excellency Eurynome. His Excellency Prometheus, son of Iapetus, has come to pay his respects to the presiding deity and is presently outside the hall."
The nymph reported in a voice like a mosquito's buzz.
At this, Metis gave her beloved God-King's soft flank a playful little pinch, with a hint of reproach.
Her beloved God-King always made her lose face!
Only then did Zeus, still reluctant and unsated, part from his beloved goddess.
Even for deities, kissing is an exceedingly blissful pleasure.
Especially this time.
Their divinities had achieved an unprecedented complete compatibility.
Such intimate contact alone already felt nearly no less than a true divine union.
And this time, his beloved goddess's state of mind was wholly different.
Before, every time, his beloved goddess had seemed afraid, as if each were the last.
Each kiss was filled with a heartbreaking urgency and anxiety.
She was always so greedy and fierce, wishing she could devour her beloved God-King whole, desperate to merge completely with him.
But now her heart was truly calm and at peace.
For the first time she, in serenity, carefully felt their love and their union.
For the first time she had a different sensation—like the gentlest brook flowing over their god-bodies, bringing the mildest yet most intimate and harmonious knowing of one another.
After they parted, Metis cast a supremely bewitching sidelong glance at her beloved God-King, who was still staring at her with greedy intent.
Her charming, rosy face was full of love and doting that could not be dissolved.
"I understand. Please ask His Excellency Prometheus to wait a moment. I will see him at once."
The anxious nymph, as if granted amnesty, answered yes and quickly withdrew in respectful haste.
Metis lifted her hand and with her fingertip gently wiped away the ambiguous, crystalline thread at the corner of her beloved's lips, and said softly, "My love, Prometheus must have important business this time. I will go see him first."
"As for here… please let my dearest little sister—Eurynome—keep you company."
A sly spark flashed in Metis's eyes. She leaned to Zeus's ear and, in a voice neither too soft nor too loud, teased, "I hope my most beloved but not-so-well-behaved God-King will be even less well-behaved with my dear little sister."
The warmhearted God-King's spirit had already flown beyond the heavens; he was lowering his head in silent thought like a statue fallen into contemplation.
Probably pondering some great matter of the cosmos…
Seeing this, the wisdom goddess rolled her eyes at her beloved playing dumb, with both indulgence and helplessness.
She gave his handsome cheek a gentle pinch, but His Majesty the God-King still did not stir.
Metis shook her head helplessly and slipped lightly from Zeus's embrace—quite smoothly, since the God-King truly did not move.
She took her adorable, pure sister—already so mortified she was covering her little face—and gently eased her into the seat she herself had just occupied.
Then she pressed close to her beloved's ear again, breath sweet as orchids, and in an irresistibly alluring, soft voice said, "My love, though you may be a bit less proper with Eurynome, you mustn't be irresponsible!"
"You have given me consummation, and I must prepare a surprise for you too~"
"Let my dearest, most gracious sister Eurynome also become your wife."
"We sisters… will gladly, forever keep you company."
Saying this, the wisdom goddess stretched out her small, warm tongue and lightly licked the God-King's sculpted earlobe, making him shiver.
Her lips hovered at his ear, brushing and parting, breathing that clear, mellow fragrance mixed with fevered warmth over him: "So long as Eurynome herself is willing, my love, I don't mind being together with her, you know~"
With that, Metis was already ready to leave, intending to give this "solitary god and maiden" pair ample time alone.
But before going, she did look back and, with eyes full of helpless affection, glared at her hapless little sister.
At the same time, in their private divine-thought space, she left her a message brimming with encouragement: "My dear good sister, you must remember what I said—strike first!"
"Our His Majesty the God-King has never been the sort to keep his hands to himself! Seize this fine chance! Don't just stand there silly and wait in secret!"
Alas, the gracious Eurynome, clasped in Zeus's arms, was already utterly undone, heady and dazed.
The greatest desire that had long seemed dream-distant was suddenly fulfilled in this moment.
She truly did not know what to do now.
Moreover, her temperament was the most serene and reserved—like an orchid in a secluded vale, like a lotus in still waters.
To actually make her take the initiative and wield seductive wiles—this was truly too hard for the pure goddess.
