Chapter 214 – If a Tiger Doesn't Show Its

Might, You Think I'm a Sick Cat…

Uchiha Fugaku waved for the two Konoha jōnin behind him to approach.

Seeing the Hokage-sama's signal, the Yamanaka jōnin and Hyūga jōnin immediately rushed over.

"Carry Orochimaru," Fugaku ordered calmly. "We're leaving the city."

With so many civilians around, he didn't want to cause unnecessary attention or panic. A quiet departure was best.

Fugaku led the way while the two jōnin followed, supporting the unconscious Orochimaru between them as they headed toward the outskirts.

Even when people on the street saw the scene, no one came to question them. They simply looked away — in these border towns, most knew better than to meddle in shinobi affairs.

Fugaku was pleased by their discretion, and soon, they arrived at the clearing where he had first landed.

Without hesitation, he summoned his Complete Body Susanoo.

The towering blue armored figure materialized with a low hum, its presence distorting the air. Fugaku and his subordinates stepped onto its massive hand.

With a single sweep of its wings, the Susanoo lifted off like a fighter jet — soaring into the sky and vanishing into the clouds in an instant.

Meanwhile, at the Konoha Ninja Academy, recess had just begun.

Sasuke Uchiha was in unusually high spirits, a rare smile tugging at his lips.

He glanced at Naruto, who was laughing and joking nearby, and smirked inwardly.

Laugh while you can, Naruto. You won't be laughing tomorrow.

They had made a small bet — on when his father would return. Naruto had guessed one day. It was now the second, and Fugaku still hadn't come back.

That meant Naruto had already lost.

As long as Fugaku returned the next day, Sasuke would win.

And Naruto would have to keep his end of the bet — becoming Sasuke's errand boy for a week.

The thought delighted Sasuke. He could already imagine the possibilities — making Naruto buy snacks from the store, carry his bag to school, or run silly errands. The corners of his mouth curled upward at the image.

"Hey, Sasuke! You look happy. Did something good happen?" a voice asked suddenly beside him.

Sasuke's smile vanished immediately. His brows twitched in mild irritation as he turned his head.

There she was — Sakura Haruno, pink hair and all.

Why does this girl always come to bother me…? he thought in exasperation.

He didn't dislike her — he loathed being pestered by her constant attention.

Instead of answering, Sasuke simply acted as if he hadn't heard her. He looked up briefly, confirmed it was her, then turned away, fixing his gaze out the window.

He thought ignoring her would send the message.

He was wrong.

Sakura blinked, then walked around to his other side, leaning forward to stare dreamily at his face. Her eyes sparkled with admiration.

Ah, Sasuke is so handsome… she thought, practically glowing.

Sasuke's jaw clenched. Why is she like this?

"She's even denser than Naruto," he muttered under his breath, darkly amused.

Unable to hold it in anymore, he sighed and said coldly, "Can you move? You're blocking my view of the scenery outside."

His tone was flat and emotionless, cutting like ice.

Sakura blinked innocently. "Huh? But it's cloudy today. What scenery?"

Several metaphorical black lines formed on Sasuke's forehead. She really doesn't get it.

Too lazy to continue, he propped his chin on his hand and stared blankly ahead.

After a while, Sakura, finally realizing he wasn't going to talk to her, slumped and went back to her seat.

The bell rang soon after, signaling the end of recess, and all the students filed back into class.

Sasuke straightened his posture. Even though he'd long mastered everything being taught, he didn't mind reviewing. It was his nature to perfect even the basics.

Unlike that idiot Naruto, he thought as his eyes flicked toward the blond troublemaker. Naruto was whispering to Inuzuka Kiba across the aisle, exchanging small notes and trying — and failing — to stifle his laughter.

Between them sat Choji Akimichi and Shikamaru Nara.

Choji munched on potato chips beneath the desk, casually passing notes while snacking. Shikamaru, on the other hand, looked thoroughly bored — sighing as he reluctantly became the "note courier" between the two loudmouths.

So troublesome, Shikamaru thought wearily. But it was less trouble than dealing with Naruto and Kiba's whining if he refused.

Since Fugaku had publicly revealed his identity as Hokage, the atmosphere in the Academy had subtly changed. Many students who once looked down on Naruto now treated him differently.

Children were naturally drawn to strength — and knowing Naruto's father was the Hokage made him instantly popular. Some befriended him out of genuine admiration, others because their parents told them to.

Naruto, however, could tell the difference. Still, his circle of friends had grown, and he no longer spent all his time pestering Sasuke.

Today, he and Kiba were chatting excitedly about who-knows-what — laughing so loudly that Naruto suddenly burst into laughter, echoing through the quiet classroom.

The Chūnin instructor at the podium froze, a vein twitching on his forehead. He'd endured Naruto's antics for several classes already, but this time was the last straw.

Without a word, he flicked two pieces of chalk with precise accuracy.

Thwack. Thwack.

Kiba got hit squarely on the forehead — but to the teacher's surprise, Naruto… dodged it.
