Chapter 216: Other Gods

"I won't! If you don't tell me, I'm not letting go," Naruto said stubbornly, a mischievous grin on his face.

Sasuke glared at him but quickly deflated. Against Naruto's thick skin, glaring was useless — the guy was like a pig that didn't fear boiling water.

"Alright, fine," Sasuke sighed. "I'll tell you. Let's go inside first."

He decided to trick Naruto into the house. Once inside, he could check whether his father was back.

If Fugaku hadn't returned, he could simply make up a story.

If he had… he'd still make up a story.

No matter what, there was no way Sasuke was admitting that he'd been anxiously worrying about whether his father had returned.

Naruto's eyes narrowed suspiciously, but since they were already home, he figured Sasuke couldn't escape anymore. He finally released his grip on Sasuke's shirt.

The two of them stepped into the house, changing shoes at the entryway.

As Sasuke bent down, his eyes flicked to the shoe rack — and instantly froze.

His father's sandals were there.

That answered everything. Fugaku was home.

Naruto, meanwhile, was still nagging. "Hey, Sasuke, no running off, alright? Tell me honestly!"

Sasuke sighed, completely losing interest in keeping up the game. "Idiot," he muttered, "it doesn't matter now. Father came back today. Since it's already the second day, neither of us guessed right."

Naruto blinked in surprise, his blue eyes lighting up. "Uncle's back? Really? You saw him?"

Before Sasuke could respond, Naruto burst past him in excitement, rushing into the living room.

Sasuke's face darkened. Why does it feel like my father's turning into your father, you idiot?

Whose son are you, anyway?

With a sulky sigh, he followed after him.

Inside, Uchiha Fugaku was sitting calmly on the sofa, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he patted Naruto's head.

Sasuke stopped at the stairs, his expression unreadable, before silently heading up to the second floor.

Fugaku watched his younger son's back with a slightly puzzled expression. What's gotten into Sasuke today? He looks so moody — like he's lost money.

But after a moment's thought, Fugaku dismissed it. Sasuke was strong-willed and level-headed — he didn't need to worry about him.

After casually praising Naruto a few times, Fugaku sent him off.

Naruto bounded happily toward the kitchen to greet Uchiha Mikoto, then darted upstairs in excitement.

Fugaku leaned back into the sofa, humming softly, clearly in a good mood.

Today, he had used the system's fusion function to merge Uchiha Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan with his own Eternal Mangekyō.

The fusion process hadn't even taken an hour — just thirty minutes, and it was complete.

Upon checking the result, Fugaku realized that Shisui's Kotoamatsukami had been fully absorbed into his Eternal Eyes.

That meant his Eternal Mangekyō now possessed two distinct versions of Kotoamatsukami.

Shisui's original eyes had each held the same genjutsu — Kotoamatsukami — but they worked in different ways.

The left eye's Kotoamatsukami was instant and permanent, capable of rewriting a target's will in an instant, with effects that would never fade.

The right eye's Kotoamatsukami was continuous but temporary, requiring sustained focus to maintain the illusion. Once the caster stopped, the control ended.

Normally, Shisui's left-eye genjutsu had a cooldown of over ten years, while the right-eye variant recovered somewhat faster.

But after merging with Fugaku's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, both techniques underwent an epic amplification.

To differentiate the two, Fugaku decided to give them names:

The Left Heavenly God (Saijin no Kamigami) for the permanent, instant control.

The Right Heavenly God (Ujin no Kamigami) for the sustained, temporary control.

And now, with the Eternal Eyes' immense visual power, even the Left Heavenly God's decade-long cooldown had been slashed — to only three years.

In other words, every three years, Fugaku could permanently convert one person into an utterly loyal subordinate, completely rewriting their consciousness.

The implications were… exhilarating.

With this, there would be no need for wars or bloody coups. No more unnecessary death.

Fugaku didn't enjoy violence for its own sake — only when it was absolutely necessary.

But now, with the Left Heavenly God, he could silently infiltrate other nations and take control from within.

Kumogakure was already gone.

That left four Great Ninja Villages.

If he used Left Heavenly God on the remaining three Kage over the next nine years, he could effectively rule the entire shinobi world without a single public war.

No one would ever suspect that their own Kage was under Uchiha control — just as the unfortunate Fourth Mizukage, Yagura Karatachi, had once been secretly controlled by Uchiha Obito for years.

Under that control, Kirigakure had bled itself dry — countless clans slaughtered, bloodline users purged, and the entire village driven into ruin.

In the end, it was a "village" in name only.

Fugaku could easily replicate that kind of manipulation through genjutsu — and with his Eternal Eyes, his control would be even stronger than Obito's ever was.

But that kind of crude domination left traces.

Yagura's condition had been obvious; he isolated himself, issued orders from the shadows, terrified that someone would notice something was wrong.

The Left Heavenly God, however, was in another league entirely.

Even the Byakugan wouldn't be able to detect it.

If that power had existed in the hands of the Uchiha during the coup era — instead of being wasted because Shisui was deceived and manipulated by Hiruzen Sarutobi — the clan's tragedy might have been rewritten entirely.

Fugaku exhaled slowly, his Eternal Eyes glinting faintly.

The Left Heavenly God's first victim was already chosen — Orochimaru.

He had used it on him during the journey back to Konoha.

The next time he could use it would be three years from now.

As for whether this divine technique could affect someone like Nagato, the wielder of the Rinnegan…

Even Fugaku himself didn't yet know.

But one thing was certain —

The true gods of this world were beginning to awaken.
