ARIA
That was the most horrible thing to do in this situation, but then, I could only use my mouth and nothing else.
The entity lunged, its claws out and coming straight for my face. My eyes snapped shut, and I stood frozen, bracing myself for the impact of the blow.
But I felt nothing. No crushing weight. No pain from the ripping of my flesh. Just cold air and a citrusy scent.
"Aria!"
A sharp, awfully familiar voice sounded, followed by someone gripping my shoulder. I flinched, jerking away, and my eyes flew open.
Wide and unblinking. My heart thudded as I looked around me frantically. Weird. The creature was nowhere to be found, and this place…it wasn't the withering grove. Rather, the crossroad that we first were.
I shuddered, my arms crossed over my chest, and a slight gasp slipped past my lips as someone jumped in front of me.
