I felt bad for Sophia. I didn't think she deserved to be yelled at like that. I could recall being in her position several times when Selene and Lyra would shout at me in the presence of people, humiliating me.
Even though this case was different and I wanted to believe Atlas was trying to defend me since she was way out of line, I still didn't think he should have shouted at her.
I stared at the door as it made a soft click as soon as Sophia stepped outside, then turned to Atlas.
"I don't think it's nice that you yelled at her," I said.
"It's not?" He asked with a frown etched on his face. "Are you always this nice to people who are mean to you?"
I didn't answer his question; instead, I gazed down at my empty plate. My appetite had weirdly returned after he told Sophia off. I'd not deny the fact that I was secretly happy that he did. The relief had been instant, and I had wolfed down the food like I hadn't eaten in days, barely concerned about a furious Sophia.
