KAIDEN
"I can't pick up anything. It's faint, almost like it's vanishing, and that shouldn't be so."
My brows furrowed as I leaned forward, resting my hands on the windowsill.
Even as an omega, Aria had the most pungent scent I'd ever come across. The first time I visited this pack house, I smelled her everywhere and on every damned person I came across. At the time, I thought I was imagining things. I didn't know she lived in the Alpha building; no wonder her scent was the most potent here.
But now? I could barely trace it. Red was right. Her scent was fading, as if it were being erased. By whom? Could it have something to do with her being in prison?
Aria had only been taken recently, so I doubted it.
"Do you think something happened to her?" I murmured.
Ever since the report of her arrest, everything had gone quiet. I hadn't been able to visit the prison; I couldn't bring myself to.
