As the elevator doors opened, Navian froze for a moment, surprised to see Sylas standing there with a folder in hand, his sharp sunset colored eyes narrow on him.
Navian was holding a large bag of ingredients. Evren's list but he couldn't shake the question. What was Sylas doing in the Ascendants building?
The man stepped out silently, and just as Navian was about to enter the elevator, Sylas's voice cut through the air.
"Did you kill Sutton?"
Navian stopped, turning to face him. Sylas was watching him, unflinching, his expression unreadable.
"Yes. Do you have a problem with that?" Navian asked, a small frown in his face.
Sylas didn't respond with judgment or accusation. He simply nodded.
"Good job."
Then, just like that, he walked away.
Navian entered the elevator, pressing the close button, still uneasy. Why was Sylas in the building? And why had he known enough to ask about Sutton? His gut told him one thing for sure. Sylas had definitely seen Willow.
