At this moment, upon hearing that the chat group's restriction had finally been lifted, Bai Ye couldn't help but let a smile spread across his face.
His two months of hard work had not been in vain after all.
As for Professor X — the moment the chat ban was removed, he immediately sealed away the Crimson consciousness and bolted out of Bai Ye's body. The pain had been unbearable.
Bai Ye gently opened the chat group window. To formally announce his return, he thought for a moment, then casually sent an ellipsis.
The next instant, the entire chat group went into an uproar.
[Deep Blue]: …
[Kanashima Kana]: !!!
[Gentleman's Sword]: Ah!
[Playboy]: You've been unmuted — then hurry up and let me out! I'm still stuck in this space, do you have any idea how stressful it is being trapped next to a hydrogen bomb?!
In Japan, Kanashima Kana, wrapped up in her blanket, stared at the suddenly reappeared message from Deep Blue — someone who hadn't spoken in ages — and sat bolt upright on her bed, blinking in disbelief.
What's going on? Deep Blue, who's been silent forever, is suddenly replying? And what's this about Uncle Stark saying "unmuted"? Wasn't he kidnapped by Afghan militants?
[Deep Blue]: I was muted by the admin before, so I couldn't talk. But it's fine now — the admin's about to be dead, so I can speak again.
[Deep Blue] sent a photo.
Everyone in the chat fell silent as they saw the image:A miserable man lay sprawled on the ground like a dead dog, barely breathing, gasping weakly.
Those who didn't know the truth were especially stunned. Wasn't that the senior, Crimson? How could he be the administrator?
[Deep Blue]: Crimson is actually the alt account of the "Omniscient and Almighty Immortal." They're the same person. Stark and I are in the same world — so we set him up and crippled him.
[Deep Blue]: @Gentleman's Sword — your "Purple Cloud Divine Art" helped me immensely. If you ever need anything, come to me. I'll help if I can!
As Bai Ye typed, he simultaneously released Stark from the pocket dimension.
"Finally out," Stark exhaled in relief. His gaze swept over the collapsed admin on the floor — and even just looking made his own body ache in sympathy.
"What do you plan to do with him?" Stark asked, pointing at the Omniscient and Almighty Immortal.
"I'm still thinking," Bai Ye replied thoughtfully. "Killing him outright feels too cheap. But if I don't, he'll just keep hogging the admin position."
"Admins can't willingly transfer authority… but I'm not sure whether a new one gets chosen after the old one dies."
He paused, then sighed softly. "Guess I'll just make it quick."
With that, Bai Ye stepped forward — and with one decisive stomp, crushed the skull of the now-vegetative "Omniscient and Almighty Immortal." His head burst apart instantly.
In that same instant, the avatars for Crimson and Omniscient and Almighty Immortal in the chat group dimmed to gray. Their online status showed "Offline," their profile pictures looking like memorial photos.
Inside Bai Ye's mind, the mechanical voice of the chat group rang out:
Member [Crimson] — offline.Member [Omniscient and Almighty Immortal] — offline. Administrator privileges revoked.Position will be automatically transferred according to power ranking.New administrator: [Deep Blue].
[Deep Blue] has ascended to Administrator of the Multiverse Chat Group.
After months of dormancy, the chat group had undergone a massive upheaval the moment Bai Ye came online.
As they watched the stream of notifications appear, every member sensed that the entire group was about to change — all because Bai Ye had returned.
The second generation administrator had risen to power.
Seeing events unfold just as he had hoped, Bai Ye nodded in satisfaction.
Yet he also knew this chat group wasn't as lighthearted as it appeared.
His position was gained through force, not legitimacy — and the system's announcement had made that painfully clear.
Now, every member knew:As long as you're the strongest in the group, and you kill the current administrator, you'll inherit the position by power ranking.
If a new powerhouse joined in the future… his own safety would be far from guaranteed.
"Hah, so the originator shall have no heirs, is that it?" Bai Ye chuckled nonchalantly.
As everything settled, the shimmering portal conjured by the Ancient One slowly closed — vanishing as if it had never existed.
"What do you plan to do next?" Stark asked, glancing toward the distant haze, trying to imagine the battle that had just taken place.
"Head back to New York," Bai Ye replied. "Then give myself a vacation."
The next moment, his figure turned into a streak of white light — and disappeared without a trace.
"Hey! You brought me here — you're not even sending me back? At least drop me off at the base!" Stark shouted at the empty sky.
After waiting in vain, realizing Bai Ye truly had discarded him like a used tool, Stark could only grumble under his breath. Activating his internal energy, he oriented himself and started running toward the Air Force base.
Meanwhile, at the Daily Bugle office, Chief Editor Jameson stared at the report before him, his expression deeply conflicted.
"Are you sure what you're saying is true?" Jameson asked.
"Absolutely," the informant nodded firmly. "Our biological lab just confirmed it — people without internal energy shouldn't have meridians at all. Which means our bodies have already been quietly altered by that Bai Ye."
"This is firsthand information — and soon, more and more people will discover it. You can't hide this. If you don't publish it now, you'll miss the biggest story of the year."
Tempted by the promise of an exclusive, Jameson sat back, thinking hard. Bai Ye wasn't someone to mess with lightly.
But after several moments of hesitation, he gritted his teeth and nodded."Go to accounting and get your payment. Your intel is valuable. I look forward to our next cooperation."
As the informant left, Jameson took a deep breath."Alright, everyone, we've got work to do! Tomorrow's front-page headline is ready!"
Outside the Daily Bugle, the informant fondled the bills in his hand and smiled in satisfaction — before striding toward the next newspaper office, eager to sell the same story again for another payday.
That night, after an hour's journey, Bai Ye returned to New York.
He quietly opened the door to his home, only to see Camilla curled up on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket, resting.
Hearing the door, she lifted her bright eyes slightly. As expected — her young master had returned.
"All done?" Camilla asked softly.
"Of course," Bai Ye replied with a faint smile. "Now I'm finally free."
He stepped closer and closer, clearly intending to make up for what they'd been missing these past few days.
Camilla rolled her eyes at him — but her body, long since molded to fit Bai Ye's, was already perfectly prepared.
