Nick Fury scanned the people in the conference room, his calm gaze carrying a hint of displeasure: "Captain isn't here yet?"
Before he finished speaking, the conference room door made a soft "click" and slowly opened automatically. Coulson walked in quickly, with a hint of apology, and nodded at Nick: "Sorry, kept everyone waiting."
Steve Rogers followed closely behind him. Steve was wearing a vintage military green jacket, his back straight, his eyes revealing a resolute light. His appearance brought a special aura, as if the room became a bit more solemn because of his entry.
"Wow!" Tony immediately exclaimed in surprise, scrutinizing Steve with an exaggerated expression. He took a few steps forward and circled him, looking him up and down as if admiring a rare treasure. "Gentlemen and ladies, let me confirm... is the person in front of us Captain America, Steve Rogers?"
Steve nodded slightly, a little uncomfortable, but his face still maintained that serious expression as he politely responded: "It's nice to meet everyone."
Tony, however, made no attempt to hide his excitement, continuing in a slightly exaggerated tone: "Wow, this is really... amazing! A living, breathing World War II hero, the vanguard of the Avengers, a literal 'ageless hunk'! Captain, you could be my grandfather, right? But honestly, you've aged quite well."
Banner couldn't help but smile, showing a hint of helplessness. He could tell that Tony was deliberately trying to lighten the mood, but for the always-serious Steve, it was clearly a bit too abrupt.
Steve shook his head helplessly, a smile appearing on his face: "I'm still trying to adapt to this era, but, Tony Stark, right? I heard you've contributed quite a bit of 'high-tech' to World peace."
Tony raised an eyebrow and waved his hand with a smug expression: "You flatter me, Captain. I just make some gadgets to try and survive a little longer on the battlefield." He paused, a slight smile on his face, "But compared to that, you're a genuine legend."
Seeing the atmosphere lighten up, Coulson couldn't help but interject: "Tony, you should know that Captain isn't just a soldier, but a symbol. How many people from that era went to the front lines because of his bravery?"
Tony listened and couldn't help but let out a soft snort: "A symbol? Indeed, wearing a Stars and Stripes uniform, wielding a shield, fighting bad guys, it's certainly dramatic enough." He lightly patted Steve's shoulder and teased, "But Captain, maybe it's time for a makeover for your image – I've got brand new custom armor here, it'll definitely blow your mind!"
Steve smiled and shook his head, neither confirming nor denying, still maintaining that steady demeanor: "Tony, the shield is enough for me. I represent a belief, not just technological advancement."
Tony spread his hands, with an expression that said "I admire you but still think you're old-fashioned": "Alright, have it your old-fashioned way then. Though honestly, flying around in metal armor can really get the blood pumping."
Natasha chuckled softly from the side, teasing: "Steve, don't mind him. He's just excited that someone is much 'older' than him."
Tony immediately chimed in, putting on an innocent expression: "I just think, you know, our team is finally a bit generationally 'diverse'."
Banner watched this scene, trying not to laugh, and couldn't help but feel emotional. Although each of them came from different backgrounds and had different personalities, the banter and jokes subtly revealed a hint of the camaraderie they would soon share in battle.
Seeing the atmosphere lighten up, Nick's lips also curved slightly upward, but he quickly became serious again, speaking in a low, powerful voice: "Everyone, we have gathered the most powerful forces on Earth, and this assembly is not for a simple battle. We are facing an extraterrestrial god, who possesses the Cosmic Cube – Loki."
Everyone's expression instantly turned serious. Tony also dropped his teasing tone and said solemnly: "Loki? A god from Asgard?"
Nick nodded, his tone calm and decisive: "That's right. Loki's goal is to conquer Earth, and we must stop him. This isn't just our problem, it's a matter of the survival of all humanity."
Steve clenched his fist, his gaze fixed on Nick: "I understand, Nick. No matter what, this time we must work together to defend Earth."
Nick then turned to Steve and asked in a deep voice: "Captain, have Dominic and Blonsky replied? Do they plan to join our operation?"
Steve nodded, frowning slightly, seeming a bit helpless: "Yes, they agreed. But that guy Dominic said that if he's going to join, he needs to make sure he has 'room to perform', he can't just be for show."
Tony couldn't help but chuckle, teasing: "Room to perform? That sounds like he wants a solo show. Honestly, that's kind of his style." He shrugged, looking indifferent.
Just then, Steve's gaze turned to Banner in the room, his eyes holding a hint of curiosity and respect: "You must be Dr. Banner? I've heard a lot about you, you're one of the few here who can control their power."
Banner nodded politely and smiled slightly: "Yes, Steve. Although controlling it has never been easy for me."
Coulson interjected from the side, his eyes showing a bit of playfulness: "Don't worry, Doctor, everyone understands you – and remembers that 'melee' when Dominic and Abomination faced off against Hulk. The scene back then, well, it was truly unforgettable."
Steve looked puzzled, clearly unaware of that incident, and asked curiously: "Dominic and Abomination? Fought with Hulk?"
Natasha chuckled softly as she recalled the scene, explaining: "You could say it was a 'disastrous friendly match' within our ranks. Hulk was a bit childish back then, while Dominic and Abomination were like two mischievous older brothers. The three of them fought fiercely. In the end, Hulk, unable to contain his anger, directly turned back into Dr. Banner."
Tony couldn't help but burst out laughing and shrugged: "I watched the recording, I laughed until my stomach hurt. Imagine, a seven-foot-tall Hulk suddenly pouting, throwing massive punches, and then the next second 'whoosh' he turns into Dr. Banner – complete with an innocent expression."
Banner shook his head helplessly and sighed: "So Dominic and Blonsky are coming this time too?" He worried inwardly, muttering softly, "I wonder if Hulk will... control himself when he sees those two."
Tony patted Banner's shoulder and laughed: "Don't worry, Doctor, we've got the whole team for support this time. And, well, Dominic might just be able to attract some of the firepower. Don't you think that's killing two birds with one stone?"
Banner couldn't help but smile, relaxing slightly, but his heart was still somewhat tense. After all, he knew that once Hulk was enraged, it would be an uncontrollable storm.
Seeing this, Coulson said with a playful tone: "Besides, this is the 'Avengers' official debut. Even if there's a bit of chaos, everyone will be happy to watch the show. Look how diverse the team is: we've got Hulk, Captain, Black Widow, Iron Man, and of course, our 'Hero of the Motherland' Dominic. Basically, it's a collection of all sorts of 'heroes'."
Steve listened and couldn't help but sigh: "So, this team is really... well, quite a mix. But I hope we can unite and truly face this crisis."
Nick nodded, his eyes revealing a calm determination: "That's exactly why I chose to assemble you – only the most unique forces on Earth can counter the most powerful threats."
In this atmosphere of solemnity mixed with slight smiles, everyone seemed to foresee the challenges ahead, and this brand new team also began their journey fighting together.
