Chapter 94 - A fight between gods? No, it's the Chitauri's 'virility' plan

Loki stood on the edge of Stark Tower's rooftop, his scepter held high, the Mind Stone flashing with dazzling yellow light. He smiled slightly, his eyes filled with cold satisfaction. As a low incantation was uttered from his mouth, magic spread outwards like waves, bringing powerful enhancement to the Chitauri warriors. His magic was like an invisible armor, wrapping around each Chitauri warrior, boosting their speed, strength, and reaction time. Even their muscles swelled from the magic's influence, and their eyes gleamed with a fierce fighting spirit.

"Go, my soldiers," Loki whispered, the corner of his mouth slightly raised, "Let these mortals see true fear."

The battle on the ground instantly changed. The enhanced Chitauri seemed to have been injected with new power, their movements faster, their attacks fiercer. Thor was fighting the Chitauri warriors, wielding Mjolnir, when he suddenly felt a strange magical aura surge from around him. Flames of anger ignited in his eyes, and he let out a low roar: "Loki, you traitor! How dare you use magic to reinforce these bugs!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding Chitauri, as if stimulated by something, swarmed towards him like a tide. Thor raised his hammer, and a bolt of lightning struck down, instantly knocking several Chitauri flying. However, the enhanced ones quickly got back up, launching another attack with unyielding fighting spirit. Thor was forced to retreat. Several flying units circled in the air, aiming lasers at his head and heart, while other Chitauri warriors continuously pounced on his limbs. Thor tried his best to swing his hammer in retaliation, but in an unguarded moment, he was kicked hard by an enemy from behind, staggering back a step.

"Damn it!" he roared, and the power of thunder erupted from his body, temporarily repelling the surrounding enemies. Thor's gaze was stern as he watched the layers of Chitauri, clenching his jaw, ready to face them again.

On the other side, Natasha and Clint's originally fluid teamwork was now under unprecedented pressure. The enhanced Chitauri warriors were not only faster but also seemed to attack them with a collective consciousness. Natasha constantly dodged, drawing her dagger and hitting enemies accurately with every turn, but the Chitauri seemed completely unaffected by pain, still pursuing them relentlessly after being injured.

Clint's quiver was also running low, and the vibration speed of his bowstring was getting faster. He tried to use a smoke arrow to delay the enemies and help Natasha escape, but the Chitauri warriors scattered quickly as if they had anticipated it, surrounding them again. The two could only fight back-to-back, sweat seeping out, their steps gradually becoming heavy.

Steve was also in a tough fight at this moment. The surrounding enhanced Chitauri were agile and attacked so fast that he couldn't catch his breath. Several Chitauri quickly pounced on him, pinning him to the ground, punching and kicking him repeatedly. He gritted his teeth, dodging and struggling to break free, suddenly exerting force with his arms, blocking the fatal attacks with his shield, and forcefully flipping the enemies onto the ground. Steve took a breath and muttered to himself, "What did these guys eat? They're much crazier than before." He slammed his shield into the attacking Chitauri again, blocking and counterattacking, a sense of oppression gradually filling his heart.

Just then, several Chitauri flying soldiers appeared in the sky, their weapons glowing with a dull red light, targeting Steve and launching fierce attacks. Laser beams cut through the air, forcing Steve to retreat repeatedly, looking for cover while trying to fight back. Every shot almost grazed his body. Steve secretly swore to completely eliminate this group of alien invaders, but facing the endless stream of enemies, his pressure still doubled.

Meanwhile, Hulk roared as he charged into the enemy ranks on the other side, angrily smashing a group of Chitauri warriors to pieces. His strength was already enough to suppress most enemies, but facing the Chitauri enhanced by Loki, he gradually felt uncomfortable. Several Chitauri heavy soldiers used their shields to form a protective wall, surrounding Hulk from different directions, while several flying units circled in the air, their fierce firepower covering Hulk's movement path.

Hulk roared, swinging his massive fists and smashing the surrounding Chitauri to smithereens, but another wave of enemies immediately pounced, trying to suppress him. The heavy Chitauri soldiers raised their massive shields to block Hulk's attacks, while the flying units circled in the air, their laser cannons crisscrossing. Although Hulk's defense was astonishing, he was gradually forced back slightly by the laser cannon attacks. His rage continued to climb, his eyes turned red, his roars were deafening, and he forcefully tore apart two heavy soldiers surrounding him, but he also realized that this group of enemies had become much more difficult to deal with.

In every corner of the battlefield, the Chitauri, empowered by Loki's magical enhancements, were suppressing the Avengers. Everyone's attacks seemed to be stuck in a quagmire, and facing the tide-like enemies, every move and strike felt exceptionally difficult.

Loki stood atop the rooftop, watching the chaotic battle with satisfaction. He sneered, his eyes revealing arrogance and confidence. "Do you see? Mortals, your struggles are meaningless. Now, accept the rule of me, Loki."

In the sky, Tony was caught in a fierce aerial dogfight. A uniform group of Chitauri flying soldiers converged on him from all directions. Each soldier was fully armed, like well-trained aerial special forces, spewing blue exhaust flames and cornering his movement space. The Chitauri soldiers, enhanced by Loki's magic, had their speed and reaction significantly increased, turning like the wind, intercepting Tony's breakouts again and again.

"Jarvis, show me the weaknesses of these bastards!" Tony made sharp turns in flight, skillfully dodging the dense firepower, but Jarvis's holographic screen popped up with a glaring warning.

"Mr., energy in the right arm of the armor has dropped to 35%. The external armor is gradually wearing down under laser and enhancement impacts. Please try to avoid direct engagement," Jarvis reported calmly.

Tony frowned, feeling his energy reserves getting increasingly tight, but his eyes narrowed, and he said fiercely, "Stop nagging, Jarvis, contact Rhode for me. I'm not planning on getting through this party alone!"

Jarvis immediately began contacting him, while Tony continued to evade in the air, using his precise flying skills to extend the armor's combat time as much as possible. Moments later, Rhode's voice came through the communicator.

"Tony? Good heavens! This is no time for a casual call! How's the fight?!" Rhode's voice was filled with anxiety.

"Rhode, old buddy, it's not just a fight problem now - New York is being attacked by a bunch of guys who look like oversized bugs! I can't even catch my breath for ten seconds in the air. Hurry and bring your 'War Machine' over here and kill them for me!" Tony said as he flipped and evaded in the air. Laser beams from the Chitauri soldiers sliced past him, nearly grazing his shoulder.

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the communicator, then Rhode spoke angrily, "Tony, I'm damn stuck here! The generals think I'm their personal grunt, won't let me leave, and the War Machine is completely locked down! The higher-ups want me to stay in the Base and watch this 'war live stream'!"

Tony was stunned, then he lightly bit his lip, a self-mocking smile pulling at the corner of his mouth. "So you're saying they're treating the 'War Machine' like a museum exhibit? Rhode, that's ridiculous! Fine, I'll hold on by myself. Anyway, I'm more comfortable using this armor than anyone else!"

Rhode sighed helplessly on the other end, his tone tinged with a bit of apology. "Tony, you know I wish I could be there right now, but they've locked down all my permissions. Be careful, you hear? These guys aren't just ordinary cannon fodder."

Tony dodged the Chitauri's pursuit while grinning through clenched teeth, "Oh, don't worry, I'm not just a useless guy in a tin suit." After speaking, he suddenly flipped over, quickly shaking off the pursuers behind him, and at the same time, threw in a line, "Next time we meet, I'll teach you how to fight aliens!"

After the communication ended, Tony clenched his fists, watching the figures of the Chitauri approaching again, the corner of his mouth slightly raised, and he muttered to himself, "Alright, let me alone teach you bugs what the Iron Will is!"

Tony's figure spun in the air, striking enemies precisely. Although he was alone, the armor's precise strikes and his years of honed combat skills still allowed him to maintain a formidable presence despite the disadvantage. His eyes gleamed with determination. Ignoring his gradually depleting energy, he quickly gained altitude and launched an attack in a dive.

"Jarvis, concentrate all remaining energy on the left hand cannon!" he shouted, having already decided to focus his last bit of firepower, determined to clear out more enemies before running out.

Jarvis quickly responded, "All remaining energy has been transferred to the left hand cannon. It is recommended to evacuate as soon as possible. Armor wear has reached 60%."

Tony snorted coldly, aiming without hesitation at the nearest group of Chitauri soldiers. With a roar, he slammed the attack button on his left hand. A blue, arc-like pulse beam tore through the night sky, hitting the chest armor of the Chitauri soldiers, blasting them directly away. The explosion's light bloomed in the night sky.

Watching the enemies gradually being repelled, Tony took a slight breath, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly. But immediately, his alarm sounded again. Several surrounding Chitauri aircraft quickly surrounded him, trapping him. Tony's eyes narrowed. He turned back to face the fight. The aircraft streaked across the sky like lightning, but he had only one thought in his mind: even if he was alone, he would never let these alien invaders break through easily.
