Mexican Grill.
The Avengers were rarely this relaxed. The air was filled with the aroma of grilled meat. Tony, holding a margarita, grinned and was the first to break the silence: "Alright, everyone, a toast! To the safety of Earth, and to my shiny Stark Tower no longer being the Universe's porch."
Natasha raised her glass, smiling as she replied, "Cheers, to the 'alien thriller' we put on in New York."
Clint, chewing on a piece of beef, nodded in agreement, "Come on, this time we weren't just a film crew, we became real-life saviors." He winked, smiling as he looked at Steve, "But seriously, Captain, the people of New York see you as a big hero now."
Steve put down his taco, showing a slightly shy smile, and shrugged, "I was just trying my best to protect them... But this time really got my blood pumping a bit. This feeling is somewhat similar to my past missions, except for the alien part."
Tony laughed heartily, teasing, "Oh, Captain, welcome to the modern battlefield! You'll have to slowly get used to the style here - like us drinking, grilling, talking about alien invasions, and planning the next battle while we're at it."
Banner sat quietly to the side, his heart feeling somewhat complex. He took a bite of grilled meat, feeling the familiar taste, which brought a hint of comfort. But his worries still lingered in his mind, making it difficult to fully immerse himself in the joyful conversation. Tony seemed to notice his mood, raising his glass and bumping Banner's shoulder, "Hey, Banner, you're our key strength! Hulk's performance was impeccable, and of course, my armor wasn't bad either." He raised an eyebrow, trying to draw Banner into the atmosphere.
Banner smiled slightly, reluctantly raising his glass, "Thanks... But, I think there are still some issues I need to resolve with 'him'." He lowered his head, his voice carrying a hint of heaviness, "Perhaps, the existence of 'Hulk' here... isn't necessarily a good thing."
Steve looked at Dr. Banner seriously, his tone gentle, "Dr. Banner, your strength saved us at the critical moment. Even if you have another side, I believe you will control it and make it a force to protect everyone."
Tony took a big bite of grilled meat, chewed it, and smacked his lips, "Yeah, Banner, this guy's right. No matter how fierce Hulk is, he's still our good teammate, and where are you going to find a 'Big Green' tougher than you?"
Natasha also smiled softly, reaching out to pat Banner's shoulder, and said in a low voice, "Don't worry, Banner. We all believe in you. And this World needs you more than you think."
Banner's eyes softened, and he nodded slightly, seemingly feeling a touch of warmth.
Clint turned to look at Tony, and suddenly laughed, "Speaking of which, Tony, your armor was almost smashed by them, how much are you going to claim for repairs this time?"
Tony waved his hand, saying casually, "Repair costs? Just kidding, I just need to hold a few more investment meetings. But, you know what? I have a new idea now... Should we have a permanent Avengers Base? We can't keep letting my tower be the target every time, can we?"
Natasha raised an eyebrow, saying with a smile, "Oh? It's rare to see Tony Stark complaining about trouble. A Base sounds good, but I have to remind you, choose a good location, at least one with enough parking spaces."
Tony slapped the table, saying confidently, "Don't worry, as long as Tony Stark is here, Base, weapons, logistics, it's a one-stop service. Just wait, I'll make us the coolest team on the whole Earth!"
Steve listened to Tony's words, a hint of relief in his eyes, and said softly, "No matter what challenges the future holds, with you guys here, I believe we can protect Earth well."
Just then, the owner of the grill personally brought over a steaming plate of specialty grilled meat, placing it on the table, and said with a beaming smile in broken English, "Heroes, this is our best grilled meat, a treat for you, the Guardians of Earth!" The owner's words made everyone laugh, and the atmosphere became more relaxed and cheerful.
Tony raised his glass and smiled at the owner, "Thanks! We're here to eat grilled meat, not to fight." As soon as he finished speaking, everyone burst into knowing laughter, as if this thrilling battle was just a past segment, and the future ahead was what was truly worth facing together.
They laughed, ate, and drank, each enjoying the moment of peace.
A moment later, Steve suddenly paused, put down the grilled skewer in his hand, frowned, and asked, "Oh, right, where are Dominic and Blonsky? Where did they go?"
Tony put down his glass, snapped his fingers lightly, and an expression of sudden realization appeared on his face: "Yeah, I knew something felt missing! Those two guys didn't really just go for a stroll, did they?"
Banner gently raised the hand that wasn't holding a skewer, and smiled slightly, "On my way here earlier, I saw them both being interviewed by the media. That scene... was a bit like a reality show."
Hearing this, Tony couldn't help but burst into laughter, laughing so hard he almost spat out the wine in his mouth: "That's Dominic's style alright! The World was almost torn apart by aliens, and he could still find a camera to get some screen time!"
Natasha pursed her lips and smiled, teasing with her fork, "That's not bad either, we're busy saving the World, they're busy saving ratings. It seems the Avengers' popularity is going to soar again for a while."
Clint pouted, took a big bite of grilled meat, and muttered under his breath, "That's just like him, doesn't forget to maintain his image even when being interviewed. Blonsky is probably doing that whole tragic story of 'from soldier to monster' routine again."
Tony waved his hand, pretending to be serious as he imitated Blonsky's tone: "'Since becoming Abomination, I have tasted endless bitterness. Although powerful, my heart is incredibly lonely. Only under the leadership of Dominic can I regain human dignity!'"
Upon hearing this, everyone burst into laughter, leaning back and forth. Even Steve couldn't help but smile, nodding in agreement, "That certainly sounds like a 'classic line' Blonsky would say."
Banner, however, frowned slightly, and said with some concern, "But seriously... after Blonsky became Abomination, he is indeed not easy for ordinary people to accept."
Tony waved his hand, putting on a nonchalant look: "Don't worry, Banner. Blonsky's mouth is stronger than all of us combined. He'll definitely find a way to portray himself as the most pathetic 'super monster' on Earth."
Clint laughed and chimed in, "And Dominic is definitely showing off his 'superhero' look in front of the camera again. He's probably close to becoming the 'Earth Guardian spokesperson' by now."
Natasha shook her head helplessly, chuckling, "As soon as he gets a chance, Dominic will definitely package himself as the savior of Earth, completely disregarding what others think."
Tony took a sip of wine, shrugged, and said teasingly, "Who told him to enjoy it? Maybe he'll release some 'Earth Guardian' merchandise later, T-shirts, cups, posters, the whole set!"
Steve glared at Tony, and smiled helplessly, "As long as he stays true to his original intention and genuinely helps people, there's nothing wrong with merchandise."
Tony shook his head and sighed, with a look that said "you're still too naive": "Captain, that guy's original intention is to stir things up! I bet his next step is to give himself a cameo appearance in a movie!"
Banner couldn't help but laugh and added, "Well, let alone movies, he might even want to be a screenwriter."
Everyone burst into laughter. Tony wiped the corner of his mouth while laughing, and continued with a playful expression, "But seriously, Dominic's 'fake Superman' image is quite marketable, even I'm starting to look forward to him doing another reality show!"
Natasha nodded, raised an eyebrow, and smiled, "He is indeed the one with the most 'variety show appeal' among this group of superheroes."
Steve shook his head slightly, with a hint of helplessness in his tone, "Alright, I can only hope he doesn't also record an episode while fighting aliens."
At this moment, Clint suddenly remembered something and asked thoughtfully, "But speaking of which, where does Dominic's confidence come from? He even dared to act so pretentiously in front of aliens."
Tony shrugged, saying smugly, "Do you even need to ask? It's obviously the 'Homelander' gene." He gestured with his hand, a proud expression on his face, "That kind of natural self-satisfaction, no one can break it."
Banner nodded slightly and sighed, "Perhaps he was just born that way, always having a kind of irresistible charm." He couldn't help but smile and added, "But, I guess that counts as his unique 'superpower'."
After hearing this, everyone laughed even more relaxed. Tony winked, his tone carrying a bit of teasing, "Hey, 'superpower', don't you say, this is a unique kind of 'human infectiousness'."
Steve patted Banner's shoulder, comforting him half-jokingly, "Alright, don't worry too much, there are plenty of weirdos in the Avengers team, you're not some anomaly."
Banner let out a light laugh, a hint of gratitude in his eyes, and nodded. In this relaxed atmosphere, they raised their glasses, toasting once again to the victory and their friendship.
