A shadow tore through the sky, and the falling city, like an inverted mountain, crashed down on the ground with destructive force. Tony scanned a series of alarm messages on the display screen inside his armor, and a shrill mechanical voice echoed: "Insufficient core energy, decreasing support."
The steel legions were scattered along the city's edge, their blue energy beams resembling countless thin threads, desperately holding the suspended behemoth together. Every corner of the steel frame trembled violently, and debris rained down from the sky, crashing into buildings and vehicles on the ground. Vision floated in mid-air, a beam of golden light shooting from the Mind Stone on his forehead, trying his best to support the falling weight.
Tony's voice came through the comms, urgent and imposing: "Vision, increase power output! The Iron Legion can't hold on much longer!"
Vision's figure swayed slightly, but his expression remained calm: "I'm trying my best, but the quality of this city is beyond our calculations."
Rhode hovered nearby, the mechanical joints of his armor creaking under the strain. He strained to hold up a massive piece of debris about to fall, shouting through sweat, "Tony, hurry up and finish this! I can't hold on much longer!"
Tony gritted his teeth, quickly adjusting the thrust of his armor, and unleashed powerful energy beams from his hands, temporarily stabilizing a piece of collapsed building debris as it flew into the air. He cursed under his breath, his fingers flying across the control panel: "Damn it, this thing is more complicated than I thought!"
Just as he was at his wit's end, a streak of light flashed across the sky and crashed down beside him. The shockwave whipped up a cloud of dust, from which Dominic's figure emerged. His gaze swept over the scene before him, his face showing not a trace of panic, his calmness chilling.
"Need any help?" Dominic asked casually.
Tony glanced at him, his voice laced with weary sarcasm: "You'd better hurry up and make your move, or we'll all become stepping stones for this city."
Dominic nodded slightly and strode towards the edge of the city. He stretched out his arms, his palms surging with powerful energy, and the air around him seemed to vibrate at his presence. He muttered to himself, "This city is not worthy of being destroyed."
He slammed his hands down on the city, the ground cracking beneath his feet as a surge of power held the city aloft for a few seconds. The pressure on the Iron Legion eased, and they began to reposition themselves. Tony, catching his breath, quickly gave the orders: "Rhodes, stabilize the west flank! Vision, focus on the center! Dominic, don't hold back, hold on as long as you can!"
Dominic responded coldly, his arm muscles tensing, his footsteps creating a deep crater in the ground. He glanced down at the cracks on the city's edge, his gaze sharp as a knife: "Such a design is truly fragile."
Vision's golden light suddenly intensified, and the city's descent began to slow. Tony seized the opportunity, maneuvering his armor to fly to Dominic's side, and whispered, "Listen, we need to work together to prevent the city from disintegrating."
Dominic nodded without a word. He braced himself with his arms, stabilizing the sinking part of the city. Tony's Iron Man suit unleashed powerful propulsion, helping Vision and Dominic stabilize the behemoth. Rhodes, panting heavily on the other side, shouted, "Let's finish this quickly, I'm really about to collapse!"
Time seemed to stretch out into an eternity, each second fraught with the possibility of destruction. New cracks kept appearing beneath Dominic's feet, sweat dripping from his forehead. He looked up at Tony, his tone stern: "I can hold it up, but you'd better deal with the rest of the problem quickly."
Tony gritted his teeth and quickly commanded the Iron Legion to concentrate their power, unleashing crisscrossing energy beams that gently lowered the falling city to the ground. After a deafening roar, the city finally came to a stop. Dust billowed in the air, and silence reigned.
Dominic released his grip, straightened up, and scanned the scene before him. He turned to Tony, a hint of sarcasm in his voice: "Do you need me to clean up the rest of the mess?"
Tony removed his damaged faceplate, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and gave a tired smile: "No, you win this time."
The smoke of battle had not yet completely dissipated, and the edges of the ruins still lingered with the warmth of the fighting. Dominic stood amidst the rubble, his gaze sweeping over the ravaged city, and took a deep breath. The air was thick with the smell of burning metal and acrid smoke. He looked up, preparing to leave, when suddenly a blinding light flashed in the distance, accompanied by a strange "bang."
A figure tumbled out of the portal, his red and black bodysuit gleaming in the sunlight. He rolled a few times, as if he'd just finished a clumsy action scene, still clutching a sparking device tightly in his hand. The man looked up, panting, and shouted, "Hey! Where am I? Can anyone tell me which damn multiverse I've fallen into?"
Dominic narrowed his eyes and slowly walked towards the uninvited guest. His steps were steady, his gaze sharp, and his tone icy: "Who are you? Why are you here?"
The man in the red and black armor suddenly looked up, his white eye circles widening dramatically, an exaggerated expression reminiscent of something out of a comic book. He stood up, pointing to his chest, his voice filled with unbelievable self-satisfaction: "What? You don't recognize me? God, that's the most hurtful thing I've ever heard! I'm Deadpool, the coolest and most handsome superhero in the Marvel Universe, at least in my opinion. By the way, are you the Asian version of Superman? That physique, that aura, wow, I'm even jealous of how handsome you are."
Dominic was momentarily speechless, a vein throbbing slightly on his forehead. He took a deep breath, suppressing his impatience, and said in a cold tone, "What is your device? Where did you come from? Don't tell me you just got lost."
Deadpool scratched his helmet, casually waving the device in his hand as if showing off a piece of junk he'd found at a secondhand market: "Oh, this thing, um... actually, I don't really know how it works. Anyway, it was working fine at first, but some 'accidental' operation threw me here. Mr. Great Hero, now's not the time to worry about small things, you have to help me save the universe!"
"Save the universe?" Dominic raised an eyebrow, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes. "That sounds like a lame joke."
Upon hearing this, Deadpool put his hands on his hips and took a step back in an exaggerated manner: "Oh my, listen to that cold-blooded answer! You're practically the cosmic version of Batman. If you get any colder, are you going to give yourself a late-night broadcast? But seriously, this is a big deal! If I mess this up, multiple universes will be blown to bits!"
Dominic stared at him silently, his lips twitching slightly, as if the other's nonsensical tone was giving him a headache. But the truth was, he too had a period of mental instability. He muttered under his breath, "It really was him..." then asked, "Why me?"
Deadpool didn't answer, but suddenly his knees buckled, and he knelt down, raising the device high with both hands as if on a pilgrimage. His voice carried an undeniable hint of obsequiousness: "Please! Please, Asian Superman, have some mercy! This is a great mission to save the entire multiverse! You don't want to see countless girls from different worlds disappear, do you? And all the people more handsome than you survive? That would be so boring."
Dominic frowned and asked in a low voice, "Can you say something useful?"
Deadpool immediately stood up, dusted off his knees, and said nonchalantly, "What's useful? It's that this matter can't be left to anyone but you. Look, even fate has brought me to you. Doesn't that mean you're the legendary savior?"
"What exactly do you want me to do?" Dominic asked coldly, his eyes sharp.
"Hehe, I knew you'd ask that!" Deadpool pointed to the device in his hand, his tone brimming with barely suppressed smugness. "I need a capable, ruthless superhero to help me deal with those troublemakers and fix this damn thing. Please, handsome, give me a chance, let's become super duos across the multiverse!"
Dominic's gaze was deep, as if he were weighing whether this clown was trustworthy. Looking at the other's exaggerated movements and boisterous tone, he said in a low voice, "I can't guarantee anything, but if this really is about saving the universe, I'll consider it."
Upon hearing this, Deadpool immediately jumped up, shouting excitedly like a child who had won the lottery, "Yay! I knew you'd say yes! Come on, come with me! Don't worry, I'll protect you!"
Dominic watched his exaggerated movements and couldn't help but sigh softly, muttering to himself, "What kind of madman is this..."
