Chapter 169 - The Adventures of Three Troublemakers

Deadpool walked with a highly personal style, hands on his belt, humming a song with lyrics he had clearly made up himself: "I'm Deadpool, Marvel's number one handsome guy. Chop chop kill kill, high beyond the sky. Little reporter Eddie, don't run, don't complain, with me here, your life shouldn't decline!" He hummed and stepped to a beat, his steps exaggerated and deliberate, as if constantly expecting someone to applaud and cheer for his "entrance show."

The drivers on the side of the road obviously had no time to appreciate this scene. Their cars were blocked by Deadpool, and horns blared one after another, like a discordant symphony. Finally, an irate driver slammed open his car door, got out, and yelled at Deadpool: "You lunatic! Can you get out of the way! We're in a hurry!"

Deadpool immediately stopped, turned around, struck an exaggerated apologetic pose, his voice full of playfulness: "Oh, of course, Mr.! Time is gold, and you clearly need more gold to mend your beautiful soul ravaged by traffic jams." He said, giving a slight bow, then skipped away from the lane like a clown, still humming that broken, self-composed song.

Eddie stood not far away, watching this scene, the veins on his forehead nearly bursting. His face was full of speechless expression, and he turned to look at Dominic, his tone revealing a bit of suppressed anger: "How did you get mixed up with someone like this?"

Dominic stood to the side, his expression as cold and stern as ever. His arms were crossed over his chest, his gaze following Deadpool's comical retreating figure, his voice low and concise: "That's just how he is."

Venom's voice growled in Eddie's ear, full of mockery: "Don't drag me into this. I'm not familiar with him, and I don't want to be. This guy is even stupider than you."

Eddie rolled his eyes, completely ignoring Venom's taunt. He looked at Dominic again, trying to find a shred of rational explanation: "Can't you at least control him? I don't understand how he's even alive right now."

Dominic's gaze shifted from Deadpool's skipping figure and met Eddie's eyes directly, his voice as calm as stating a fact: "He's troublesome, but he doesn't need me to manage him."

Venom let out a low chuckle, seemingly quite satisfied with this answer: "Well then, good luck to him. There aren't many guys in this World who die as fast as he does."

Just then, Deadpool popped back from the street corner, holding a lollipop he had swiped from somewhere. He held the lollipop in his mouth and said in a nonchalant tone: "Hey! Don't think I can't hear you guys whispering behind my back. I've got a superhero's ears." After speaking, he grinned, twirling the lollipop in his mouth.

Eddie rubbed his temples helplessly: "This guy is a disaster."

Venom's hoarse voice responded with an almost cold laugh: "At least we can watch him mess everything up and drag the enemies down with him in the process."

Deadpool, however, paid no mind to their complaints. As he walked forward, he continued to hum his self-composed "divine song," even adding some strange dance moves. He turned back and waved at them: "Alright, guys. Time is life, and the enemies won't wait for us to show them mercy. Keep up with me, the show has just begun."

Carlton Drake leaned back in his spacious leather chair, his long fingers slowly tracing the bare back of his secretary, a faint smile playing on his lips. His gaze lingered on her delicate collarbone, his tone lazy: "You know, Jessica, there are two kinds of people in this World. One kind creates the rules, and the other kind is crushed by them."

The secretary let out a soft chuckle, just about to respond, when a rapid knock on the door broke the ambiguous atmosphere in the room. Carlton's brow furrowed slightly, but he quickly regained his cold, controlled expression: "Come in."

The intelligence officer pushed the door open, his forehead covered in cold sweat, his gaze almost daring not to look directly at the half-naked secretary beside Carlton. His voice trembled slightly from nervousness: "Mr., I have something important to report."

Carlton's gaze swept coldly over the intelligence officer, then he raised his hand, signaling his secretary to get dressed: "Jessica, that's all for today. You may leave."

The secretary's movements were elegant and efficient. She didn't say another word, quickly tidied her clothes, and left the room in her high heels. As she passed the intelligence officer, she cast him a look tinged with sarcasm, making him even more flustered.

The moment the door closed, Carlton regained his composed demeanor. He leaned back in his chair, his long fingers tapping lightly on the desk: "Speak. What is so important that you dare to interrupt me so rudely?"

The intelligence officer took a deep breath and handed the tablet to Carlton: "Mr., according to our latest intelligence, Eddie Brock... and his two companions, are heading towards the direction of the group headquarters."

Carlton picked up the tablet. The screen clearly showed Deadpool's comical dance moves, Dominic's stern expression, and Eddie's helpless face. A cold smile lifted the corner of his mouth, his gaze carrying a hint of disdain: "What a peculiar combination. A failed reporter, a... well, a baffling red and black clown, and one who looks somewhat threatening."

His finger lightly scrolled the screen, finally placing the tablet back on the desk. His gaze turned to the intelligence officer: "You know, great men have always said famous quotes, like 'On the road to success, there are always a few stumbling blocks.' And I say—just crush the stones."

The intelligence officer lowered his head, not daring to speak.

Carlton slowly stood up, adjusting the crease on his cuff, a cruel glint flashing in his eyes: "Send out the mercenaries and Scream. Bring Eddie Brock back—alive. As for the other two," he paused slightly, the curve of his mouth widening, "Kill them. Do it cleanly, I don't want to waste time."

"Yes, Mr." The intelligence officer nodded immediately and turned to leave in a hurry.

Silence returned to the room. Carlton stood before the large floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the city lights. His gaze was cold and deep, as if everything was under his control. He raised his hand and pressed the communication button on the desk, speaking softly into the microphone: "Prepare the laboratory. I want to merge with Riot."

A cold response came from the other end of the communication: "Understood, Mr. The laboratory is ready."

Carlton turned and walked out of the office, his steps steady but carrying a compelling power. He entered the elevator leading to the underground laboratory. The lights around him gradually dimmed, only the cufflinks on his chest shimmering in the faint light. The meaningful smile remained on his lips, as if he was about to welcome his own new era.
