Chapter 233 - The Grave of the Weak

A low thud of footsteps accompanied by a damp, fishy smell echoed in the hall. The footsteps grew closer, shaking the entire ground like a small earthquake. Dominic, who was about to step out the door, stopped. His brow furrowed slightly, and his gaze turned towards the direction of the sound.

"Thump—thump—" The heavy footsteps were like a beat on the hall's pulse, attracting everyone's attention. The whispers in the hall gradually subsided, and the Mutants parted to clear a path, their eyes showing a mix of awe and unease.

A team of burly, dripping-wet Mutants walked in, led by a muscular fish-man over two meters tall. He was covered in deep blue scales, his muscles clearly defined like marble. His hands were broad and powerful, and several decorative deep-sea vines hung from his arms. Each step carried a heavy sense of oppression, and the floor seemed to groan softly under his weight.

His face was slightly flattened, his gill slits opening and closing on the sides, and his eyes gleamed with a cold light, like a predator from the deep sea. He stood at the front of the team, looking down at everything before him, his presence imposing. Following behind him was a group of Ocean Alliance members of various sizes and shapes. Among them were those with fin-like arms, octopus-tentacle-like hair, and even a woman whose skin shimmered with the luster of seawater.

The muscular fish-man's gaze swept over everyone in the hall, and a mocking smile appeared on his face. He was clearly used to being stared at, and his eyes revealed a strong sense of disdain.

"Move aside, don't block our way." His voice was low and echoed with dampness, like a muffled thunderclap from the deep sea. He raised his hand and pointed in Dominic's direction.

"Including you, passerby."

Dominic stood still, his hands still in his pockets, his head slightly tilted, his gaze coldly fixed on the other party. He didn't move, not even shifting his feet. That indifferent posture immediately caused the muscular fish-man's eyebrow to twitch and a cold sneer to appear at the corner of his mouth.

"Can't understand human language? I told you to move." The muscular fish-man took a step forward, his scales gleaming with a metallic cold light under the lights.

The surrounding Mutants began to whisper, their hushed voices mixed with a hint of fear and reverence.

"It's Sharkroad, the 'Deep Sea Commander' of the Ocean Alliance. He's one of the leaders of the entire Ocean Alliance, and I heard he's here today to register to become an A-class Mutant."

"His strength in the ocean is comparable to an S-class expert, especially his ability to spit water bullets. No one can dodge it."

"Who dares to provoke him? Even the registration center staff are polite to him."

Sharkroad clearly heard these whispers, and the smile at the corner of his mouth deepened. He raised his head, looking slightly up at the S-class list in the center of the hall. A strong ambition was revealed in his cold, gleaming fish eyes.

"Today, I will use my strength to prove that the Ocean Alliance is the king of this World. A mere A-class is only temporary. Sooner or later, I will stand at the very top of the S-class." His voice echoed in the hall, carrying an undeniable confidence and dominance.

Dominic stood still, his gaze sweeping over him. He let out a soft snort, his tone so calm that it was impossible to fathom: "Your ambition isn't small, but I wonder if your brain is also sufficient."

This sentence instantly caused the surrounding Mutants' whispers to cease. Everyone gasped, their eyes all focused on Dominic.

Sharkroad's face immediately darkened. He slowly turned his head, his cold gaze fixed on Dominic, his tone filled with threat: "What did you say?"

"I said," Dominic finally raised his head, a meaningful smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, "Did you go to the wrong place? This is the registration center, not an aquarium."

With that one sentence, the surrounding Mutants couldn't help but exclaim. Several people covered their mouths, afraid of being caught in the impending conflict. Sharkroad's fists clenched slightly, his scales glinting with a cold light in his anger. The Ocean Alliance members behind him also stirred, and the atmosphere instantly became tense.

"You're looking for death," Sharkroad said in a low voice, his tone full of killing intent.

Dominic still did not take a step back. There was no fear in his eyes, but rather a sense of oppression that was difficult to look directly at.

"Try it," his tone was understated, yet it carried a chilling coldness.

Sharkroad's expression changed slightly. Although a cold sneer still hung on the corner of his mouth, a hint of apprehension flickered in the depths of his eyes. He clearly understood that killing someone in the registration center was not a wise move. Even if he was powerful, he wouldn't want to directly confront Magneto's law.

He took a deep breath, his expression changing from anger to a calm cruelty. His gaze swept over the Mutants around the hall, his tone carrying a hint of mockery: "Of course I can deal with you here, but... it's too boring. There's a ring here. If you want to fight to the death, why don't we change to a more suitable place?"

Dominic didn't hesitate at all, nodding slightly: "No problem."

This sentence instantly caused the surrounding people to explode. Whispers surged like a tide, and everyone's expressions carried different emotions. Some were shocked, some were excited, and some shook their heads with helpless faces.

"What is this guy thinking? Sharkroad is the leader of the Ocean Alliance!"

"Is he crazy or does he have confidence? Even if he has confidence, he shouldn't be so headstrong."

"Who knows, but I have to say, I'm a little excited."

Sharkroad heard Dominic's answer and sneered, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth. He said in a low voice, "Very good, very good. You are the first person to agree so readily. Don't worry, I won't disappoint you."

He turned around and waved to one of his subordinates behind him: "Go, spread the word. I will send this ignorant kid on his final journey on the ring."

**

The ring was the most eye-catching place in the registration center, located in the center of the hall, surrounded by various Mutants. The ring was circular, made of special metal, and surrounded by an energy barrier to protect the audience from the battle. The rules here were simple - the battle ended when one party surrendered or fell (died).

As the news spread, more and more people gathered around the ring. Low whispers and loud shouts mixed together, and the entire venue gradually fell into a restless atmosphere.

"I heard Sharkroad is here! He's going to duel a regular Mutant on the ring!"

"Regular? What are you kidding? That kid can directly challenge Sharkroad. Do you think he could be regular?"

"I'm more curious about why Sharkroad wants to fight him to the death. Haven't the Ocean Alliance people always been arrogant?"

"Maybe he wants to show off his strength?"

The crowd grew larger and larger, while Dominic, who caused all this, stood on one side of the ring, his expression calm, as if everything had nothing to do with him. His gaze swept over the audience, as if he was looking for something, or as if he was calmly analyzing.

Just then, two familiar figures caused a stir. A woman in a tight black outfit with dark brown skin emerged from the crowd, her white hair particularly striking in the sunlight. She was Storm, one of the A-class Mutants, whose ability to control the weather was unmatched.

On the other side, a man wearing red sunglasses walked with steady steps, surrounded by a group of whispering spectators. He was Cyclops, also an A-class Mutant.

"Storm and Cyclops are both here? What's so attractive about this battle?"

"Are you stupid? This is Sharkroad! He's going to be promoted to A-class. How could they miss such a big event?"

Storm walked to the audience seats, her arms crossed, and coldly watched Sharkroad on the ring, her brow slightly furrowed: "This kind of low-level display is really boring."

Cyclops stood beside her and shrugged: "Boring is boring, but didn't you come too? Or do you want to see if this new face has anything special?"

Storm didn't answer, just let out a soft snort, and turned her gaze to Dominic: "I hope he's not here to die."

In the center of the ring, Sharkroad was already standing on the opposite side, his scales reflecting a cold light under the illumination. He lowered his head and lightly tapped the metal ground of the ring with his knuckles, making a crisp "ding ding" sound.

"Do you know," he raised his head, his gaze coldly fixed on Dominic, "This is a sacred place for duels, not only an arena for the strong, but also a grave for the weak. I look forward to seeing you kneel before me."

Dominic didn't respond, just slowly moved his wrists, making a "crack crack" sound. His gaze was still calm, but the hidden coldness was impossible to ignore.

In the audience, someone whispered: "This guy looks calmer than Sharkroad."

"Maybe he really has some hidden cards. Who knows?"

Sharkroad scoffed and slowly assumed a fighting stance. His body began to emit a strong moisture, and the surrounding air became humid. The energy barrier around the ring vibrated slightly, showing that his power had begun to overflow.

"Come on," his voice was low and provocative, "Let me see what qualifications you have to stand here."
