Because he had to carry the injured Judah, Lucas couldn't climb the water pipes, so he entered through the public laundry room window.
Safely home, he took out bandages and medicine.
"Judah, let me bandage you. It'll be quick."
Armed Dolls were strange—soul steel bodies but human-like reactions, bleeding minimally when injured.
They also secreted fluid, as Lucas saw with Ai Yi.
Judah shook her head. "Bandage? Useless for Armed Dolls. I'll recover after resting."
"Really?"
Lucas extended his hand firmly. "Let's bandage it. Looks better, right?"
Judah's eyes flickered. "Human, you're doing something useless. Instead, let me suck blood."
"I understand, but I want to treat your wound."
Lucas approached.
Judah, on the bed, bit her lip, annoyed. "Why don't you get it?"
Lucas opened his medical kit, staring at her.
Judah sighed, gave up resisting, and pulled down her dress strap, exposing her shoulder.
Crystal pipelines showed in her bloody, fleshy mechanism.
Alcohol, medicine, bandage, bow tied—Lucas finished.
Judah looked at him, satisfied. "You're strange."
"If you say that, Ai Yi'll be unhappy."
Judah swung her feet. "Her happiness doesn't concern me. We're not close."
"Really? Just average?"
Lucas feigned surprise, then dropped it.
Judah snorted. "Human, extend your neck. Time to eat."
"Finally?"
Lucas blinked, excited at the vampire bite.
"Come on."
He leaned down, offering his neck. Judah bared her fangs, biting with a growl.
More painful than her tiger's mouth bite, the blood loss sensation hit Lucas's brain like a tide.

…
Wednesday, Lucas exercised, spotting Hua near the Martial Arts Arena.
The gray-haired woman moved gracefully, her form-fitting clothes slightly bulging.
Lucas didn't stare, jogging away calmly.
Hua stopped punching, staring at his retreating figure, deep in thought.
Class time: Wednesday's combat drills. Lucas, lucky, drew referee.
No fighting Valkyries, but busy until class ended.
At noon, Himeko Murata approached. "Adapting to refereeing?"
Her sudden voice startled Lucas.
He turned, smiling. "Oh, Himeko. Need something?"
"You've seemed distracted. Just checking." In her academy uniform, she added, "As your teacher, I care."
Himeko, homeroom teacher, managed much.
Lucas met her golden eyes, recalling her past madness.
"Calm down, Himeko's safe in daylight."
"I'm fine," he patted his chest.
Himeko invited casually, "Lunch together?"
Accepting was risky.
The longer with Himeko, the more danger.
"No, Himeko. I'm used to being alone…"
"Alright."
Himeko didn't mind. She'd noticed Lucas avoiding Valkyries.
Rejection was expected but felt odd.
Watching him leave, she felt empty. "What's wrong? Getting old?"
Lucas ran, relieved to escape Himeko's pressure.
A small interlude didn't matter.
Night fell. Lucas, with Judah, went to Vielvie's lab.
Having conquered her, no magic tricks needed unless he sought her help, which required payment.
"Binbin, early, huh? Miss me?" Vielvie, with her black magic wand, sat elegantly, legs crossed.
On the table: a diving suit-like outfit and two oxygen tanks, prepared for Lucas.
Size? Vielvie measured him yesterday morning.
"Yes, missed you terribly."
Lucas reached for the clothes.
Vielvie tapped them with her wand. "Wait. Want this? Show appreciation."
She spread her legs, revealing crotchless pants.
The dazzling holy light pierced Lucas's heart.
