Chapter 117 - Identity

[Saki!]

[Are you alright?]

[What happened over there?]

The moment they could sense the connection again, almost all ghosts bombarded Kurokawa Saki with questions.

[I'm fine. They're just testing and I didn't see the person himself, but I guess he should have been watching nearby. And I have another mission to do.]

Kurokawa Saki rubbed her forehead tiredly.

Having to act for hours from dawn to night, her mental state has been in the state of tension from the beginning until the end.

[By the way, why is the city so noisy at night?] Kurokawa Saki looked at the blocked road speechlessly.

[There's a series of bombs. Don't worry, they have been solved.]

[Go back and rest, Saki]

Kurokawa Saki nodded and made her way back to her own home.

She was so tired.

After taking a bath and eating a warm meal, Kurokawa Saki told her story to them.

"Basically, you're just talking and drinking tea?" Morofushi Hiromitsu was very confused when he heard that.

"Yes." Kurokawa Saki was drawing her blood and put it in a sealed bag. "While I couldn't sense any poison or anything, it's better to have myself tested. I couldn't not drink the tea."

When thinking about this, Kurokawa Saki felt some grievance and annoyance. But she also knew that this was a necessary process.

If she truly wanted to gain Karasuma Renya's trust, she had to follow his wishes and act in accordance to what he wanted.

There's no other option.

"Who do you want to test your blood?" Morofushi Hiromitsu saw there were four small blood bags that she had drawn out.

"My real superior and Ai," Kurokawa Saki replied.

Her real superior?

Morofushi Hiromitsu arched his eyebrows and seemed to remember something.

"Oh right, you're on secondment to the Interpol, right?" Kenan also remembered that Kurokawa Saki had mentioned this matter once in the past.

But they never delve into it too deeply.

After all, it was unlikely for Kurokawa Saki to work for her former official agency so quickly.

At least, not before her undercover career was over.

Kurokawa Saki sent a message to Karin, asking her to prepare for the path for her to go tomorrow. It has been more than three years since she last met with her superiors here.

"Yes."

"Does the Interpol not have any experts?" Aunt Kira wondered in confusion.

"Not exactly… I just don't want to be their test subject." Kurokawa Saki shook her head with helplessness. "Besides, my seniors in my original workplace are pretty good."

She had seen the system log and naturally knew that these people were all trustworthy people. Because people who could enter this department were all selected specifically.

She entered after she graduated with Karin following her.

It could be said that Karin has been selected to be her assistant from the very beginning.

"So… where did you actually come from?" Kenan asked.

Kurokawa Saki blinked her eyes and looked at the three ghosts strangely. "Don't you…know my nationality?"

She never hid it from her ghosts, but no one seemed to care. After all, Kurokawa Saki didn't seem to mind it that much and also did things from the standpoint of Interpol.

This is what made many ghosts and even people reassured with her leading.

"Japanese?" Morofushi Hiromitsu asked tentatively.

Because Kurokawa Saki's appearance is that of an Asian. Even though she's a bit paler and her blue eyes were not exactly that common.

And if he was not wrong, the name she used right now is Japanese too.

"Yeah." Kurokawa Saki finished packing the two packages and put them in the fridge. She stretched her hand and smiled. "I'm a public security officer before the secondment and theoretically, I should only go to gain experience for a year."

The three ghosts: "..."

Well, it's all Gin's fault.

They had heard Kurokawa Saki cursing Gin several times in the past, so they basically knew how Kurokawa Saki entered the organization.

How do I say it?

It's truly a string of bad luck.

But even if Kurokawa Saki cursed Gin a lot, she still did what she should do extremely well.

"Do you need me to lead you the way?" Morofushi Hiromitsu asked carefully.

Kurokawa Saki blinked her eyes and then smiled sheepishly. "The National Police Agency is different from the Metropolitan Police Department."

In other words: they're not from the same place.

"Ah…" Morofushi Hiromitsu nodded and then suddenly thought of something.

Zero is also from the National Police Agency, right?

Thinking about how the two of them had fought against each other and the fact that they were actually also senior and junior in their real workplace, Morofushi Hiromitsu was speechless.

He had the feeling that his childhood friend might really want to beat Kurokawa Saki so badly later if he found out the truth.

He never said anything about Zero's workplace to these people though.

"Then we won't follow you." Aunt Kira nodded with a smile and then silently looked at Morofushi Hiromitsu badly.

She had to think of a way to poach Kurokawa Saki away.

It's not impossible to change her nationality.

Kenan also nodded thoughtfully and said frankly, "You're very capable. Have you ever thought of moving to other countries to work?"

"Huh?"

"I think that Saki is a patriotic person and will not be swayed by others so easily." Morofushi Hiromitsu gave a dark smile when he heard Kenan's words.

"But I believe other countries can give her better treatment." Aunt Kira also joined in.

"I don't think Saki has been treated badly."

"Uncle Kenan, Aunt Kira, please stop it. Even if I want to, I'll never choose the US." Kurokawa Saki shook her head.

"Why?"

"Because my senior who made me have to go undercover is a US citizen." Kurokawa Saki gnashed her teeth in anger.

The three ghosts: "..."

The three people whom Kurokawa Saki hated the most so far were: Her senior, Gin, and Rum.

The first one for making such a hard personality for her to play and pushed her towards undercover work.

The second one for dragging her into the organization.

The third one for nearly killing her a few times before Sake was fully developed.

"I should have a good talk with your senior later." Kenan sighed.

Kurokawa Saki sneered. "After my return, I'll beat him up so badly that his face will turn into a pig face."

The three people seemed to see heavy resentment floating behind Kurokawa Saki and silently took a step back.

With Kurokawa Saki's skills, they have no doubt that she could do this.

And with how much hatred Kurokawa Saki has right now, they had the feeling that this senior's ending would not be good at all.

It was highly possible that he might have to go to the hospital after being beaten up.

Thankfully, they trusted that Kurokawa Saki wouldn't do anything out of the line.

In any case, Kurokawa Saki didn't stay for long and after making the arrangement for tomorrow, she went back to rest.

The next day, Kurokawa Saki went to the National Police Agency early in the morning. She didn't know whether the office was already open or not… uh wait, it seems to be open 24 hours a day.

Glancing at the Zero Group next door, Kurokawa Saki saw a lot of night owls who looked like zombies. It was obvious that someone made them work overtime again. She didn't bother with them, though.

Right now, she was dressed up with a thick scarf, a hat and glasses that basically covered her appearance.

Considering that it was still early in the morning and it was indeed very cold, not many people paid attention.

As for not wearing a uniform…

Many of them were not wearing uniforms here.

After all, there were two types of public security officers. One could openly state their identity and the others couldn't. Because of this, it was not necessary for them to wear their uniform all the time.

Knock! Knock!
